OOC IPG OOC Thread

Wooooo long post. I would've let you guys talk amongst yourselves and such in the hallway, but I was thinking timeliness counts a bit here, so sorry 'bout that >.>

Anyway, I'm off looking at colleges for the next couple days, so don't be surprised at some inactivity. If your character wants/ needs to go somewhere onboard, feel free to play the ship AI to get them where they need to be. Just remember IPG AIs are gonna be very grim... er... people. The ramp heads up into the Armor bays, if you were wondering.

Anyway, peace.

Wasn't sure if Chandler was doing the right thing, so I've been waiting to either be taken to the Britivas and introduced to them or released to go do our own thing until we got to the mission site.

I was under the impression that the Britivas were like body suits that someone puts on, rather than a mechanical armor that someone gets into...pardon the comparison, but more like what Master Chief wears than what Iron Man does. (The difference being the Chief's is a relatively unarmored "softsuit" that, while powered and providing enhancements to the wearer, has plate armor mounted on it, while Iron Man's is all mechanical like the other DIoN armors.)

*reads the description again*

I'm also pretty certain Britvas are very different from the usual PA, so just "jumping" into one isn't a good idea. Especially since Flins appears to be doing it one at a time.

ALSO these suits are secured in LOCKERS, so I don't think Chandler can just "jump into" any of them as they are locked inside a large locker.

MissingNo has it right. The Britva actually wouldn't be able to really stand up very much without someone in it. Chandler would probably need the technicians to help him into it the first time. Think more Chainmail than plate armor.

Less mecha, more of an "assisted movement" suit crossed with body armor. That's what I was thinking.

This "describe without comparisons" thing is a little tough when trying to be accurate : p

Cipher: The captain isn't a Veles, as far as I can remember.

And careful when making all sorts of claims. The more you make, the more of them can be called out. :p

I wanted to make Chandler a member of a lesser-known fleet so as to better develop his military backstory. If someone happens to "Accidentally" reveal some of his "exploits", then the whole set-up for a big surprise will be completely ruined- in case a big surprise ever comes. Which I'm not saying will happen. So don't expect it. Ever.

>.>
<.<

Uh, couple things:

Chandler's trying to bullshit Flins, a career soldier who's been in the Nepleslian Military since he was five, and is now an officer in an extremely powerful intelligence organization. A very bad move, by any standard.

As for Chandler's reply to Cyrene... just... no. Cyrene can punch a hole in a brick wall and has metal for bones. Chandler's a human. It's a very one-sided fight. Chandler would've had a nasty fucking time even catching that punch, let alone blocking it.

I wasn't aware there wasn't a 6th Assault Fleet and now everyone and their grandmother is trying to kill me...?

Fair enough.

EDIT: Have fun with that ^^

Cipher, I'm a little worried about all this. "Project Baldur" is an event that definitely bares mentioning in your bio, although no mention was made of it there, nor anything about any sort of special organization or project, save the IPG itself.

It wasn't necessarily a well-known project. Basically, a paranoid captain took the law into his own hands, planted neural inhibitors in a bunch of crazies and put them on the ground with a slap on the back and a 'hope this doesn't blow up in my face'.

I would have posted it in my bio but didn't for 2 reason: 1) it tied into the whole 'amnesia' thing, and 2) I just thought of it and it related to number 1 quite nicely. What can I say, sometimes Soresu is an unwitting muse.
