[Iromakuanhe] Laser Technology

I'm questioning the whole homing-laser thing based on what you said on IRC. If it's a small course-correction thing like missiles, that's okay. But not if they can bend space 180 degrees, or even at a very large angle -- has incredible abuse potential in that one could make themselves immune to nearly any sort of attack.

It's just auto-correction. The ORB system doesn't allow for any incredible deflection powers. And to note, I clearly mentioned previously that the MASC drive doesn't work well with large solid masses.

But we still need to now how much, at least a rough estimate, on how fast it homes in on a target. Like is this a never-miss system or just a slightly arcing beam?

Another thing: The beam can only change direction inside the ship's spatial bending range, or whatever you want to call it. So if you can change the direction of a beam at 5km out, you could realistically throw or break fighters and PA and stuff in the same radius. But if it really only affects lasers and not physical mass, you might want to explain why and/or how exactly -- we need a bare minimum threshold of technobabble explanation so as to deflect IC questions and plotholes.

I've altered the article to say that it can only effectively employ homing beams within a 2.5 KM range (around where a lot of combat RP is done, anyway) and has been designated as using a MASC variant that only affects electromagnetic radiation.

EDIT: After thinking it over a little I decided to remove the ORB. I'll see about using something else to fill the niche of a homing weapon.
