RP: SS Raider Raider Run #1: KMS CHAOS!

Kai

Retired Staff
The Star Army's purchase was enormous. Enough to fund the company for another several years. The board was overjoyed. When the SAoY asked for an Origin facility to be built in the Ketsurui Military Sector, Aerin was all too happy to comply, getting her own ship, and even a few others ready. One of the MAPs was requisitioned, to aid in the construction of this new base. An escort of three Jinkan and a Justicar were also called upon, and the journey began. Five ships working their fold bubbles in Unison to tow the Behemoth MAP made their way from Dawn Station to the KMS, a 230 Lightyear journey. The first seven hours of the journey were uneventful, the small group skirting enemy positions and managing to make it to just about the edge of the KMS, near Northgate, when suddenly-

***

"Tira, why aren't we in Hyperspace?" Aerin asked, blinking at the view of stars around her, as opposed to the warped space of a fold bubble. She sat in her command chair, reading the display, and something caught her eye; four blips at the edge of sensors, beginning to close in on the small cluster that comprised of the Origin group. Thinking fast, Aerin tapped her fingers on her chair's armrest. "Roke, would you inform Security and Miss Sarri's team to board the new Kylies? we may need them. Reynold, Inform the Crimshaw to power up their frames." With an Affirmative from both the Ship's computer and the Wepcomm officer, Aerin tried to hail the ships, hoping them to be friendly.

A shot into the formation, luckily missing from the extreme range, informed her they were not. "Hope, Ake, Cashew, Deploy HLT's. Bull, move to the rear of the formation. Crimshaw, be ready to act as fire support for the armor team once they are ready." Staring at the large HUD, Aerin muttered "This is it."

RAIDER RUN #1, KMS CHAOS! START!

A somewhat pretty Geshrin was leaning against the armor bay's wall, taking care to light up a cigarette with a match. Some people said it was better lit up with matches anyways, but she couldn't tell, didn't care. She got the matches for free. Just as she lit up the little fella, the ship's computer told her to dress up. Roke, was it? What a killjoy it was. Omitsu glanced back and forward to see who was watching, and somehow, someway, took a drag long enough to turn half the cigarette to ashes. The brunette held the smoke in for a blink before doing something unexpected; she let it out towards the ceiling in a giant gray ring. Ohh! That's something! she thought, appreciating her work. A pleasant buzz was going on in her head as she 'field dressed' the cigarette by snuffing out the glowing cherry in her palm. The rest of the half gone cigarette went into a pocket for later. As she wiggled into her Kylie, she couldn't help but ask, albeit gruffly, "Boss, you have any idea who we're up against? Camellia?" Omitsu had to admit, she may have been the F***ing New Girl around here, but she just couldn't get a fix on what kind of person her superior was.

Camellia entered the armor bay, wearing the standard Origin uniforms, when she arrived she noticed the armors being fielded and smiled some as she walked over to them.

"I guess there were some of these babies left over after all." She said as she admired one of the unused suits of combat armor. After giving the inside a glance, she signed in relief as she looked around the armor deck and found a spare flight suit. After a moment is spent finding a place to change, Camellia returns and claims a Kylie for herself to use.

The four enemy ships closed in on the group of Origin ships, witholding their fire until they were close enough to get positive locks on their enemies. Having identified them as non Star Army vessels, the cocky pilots of the Mishhuvurthyar ships came in close, probably an attempt to terrify the group, as well as show off that they were powerful enough to be that close.

It was one of the worst Ideas a Mishhu had ever had. Holding back the Positron weapons, Aerin ordered all ships to fire their HLT's. In a volley of 162 HLT's each firing four shots, a considerable amount of energy was shot towards the disgusting pink ships. As soon as that happened, the mishhu realized what was up and figured these were not easy pickings. As Shields weathered into nothing from the point-blank volley, the Mishhu ships began to maneuver, firing any weapons they could bring to bear on the enemy who they now recognized as having sharp teeth. As the Origin ships began to attempt to didge the scattered enemy fire, the four ships each dumped ten Ripper PA out of their Power Armor bays, who began a blitz toward the ships. AA turrets from the Raider and Crimshaw opened up, and the Crimshaw's two Mecha bays opened up, revealing six powered frames who began acting like AA turrets themselves, never straying far from the Crimshaw.

****

Aerin's voice suddenly flooded the Raider's armor bay. "All Power Armors, Launch immediately, enemy suits have been deployed, we need them gone!"

Rita Gomez, the security lieutenant, Called out "You heard the boss! once the doors are open, Be ready to fight!" The rest of the security personnel echoed "Yes Sir!" across the bay, putting their helmets on and ready to go.

Natalia and Jal Donned Kylie suits, then looked over to their Leader, Camellia. "Ma'am, We got called to go out. We're at your call during the battle, Okay?" Natalia told the Geshrin, Jal nodding along with her.

No helping hand for the new girl huh? That was fine with her. They were all probably a bunch of elitist rich kids anyways. At the very least, they were letting Omitsu play with their toys. She currently felt like puking at those thoughts. "Yes, Sir!" she cried out with the others. She noticed that some of the others were a little shocked by her deeper voice, and may have shifted away. Pricks. If that's how they were playing, then she wasn't going to try and do anything super for the day; follow the leader, give help until they die, and then rinse and repeat would be perfect for now. She started to tail behind this 'Lida'. Close, but not too close. Now. the brunette thought, Show me your moves.

Camellia looked at the two who were going to be her wingmates. Memories of her last armored sortie flooding back to her. She poined an armored finger to Jen.

"You're left," she then pointed to Natalia, "you're right. Your two main roles are to provide suppressive fire and preventing pincer maneuvers. You two got it?" She ask as she smoothed her bangs back over her head, clipped them there and exposed her covered eye to be of a different color then the one she normally shows, though only a glimpse is seen since she donned her kylie helmet in short order. "Let's go."

"Yes Ma'am!" Natalia and Jal answered Camellia in unison. They both donned their own helmets, getting ready to go and forming up behind their leader as ordered. Even if this wasn't exactly what they had signed up for, it was similar to previous jobs, and they knew what they were doing. Separated by several Meters, they could see the Security team readying themselves, all six suited up and rearing to go.

Then the bay door opened, splitting down the center and sliding outwards, the Magcon field initiated, keeping atmosphere within the armor bay. "Now!" Rita called over the Comms, starting her engines and boosting out of the armor bay, her team in tow. Almost immediately they were fired upon, the 15 rippers from the nearest ship closing in as quickly as possible. The security team opened up, each doing their thing with a wingmate, three pairs helping to cover one another.

Lances of white light pierced the vacuum as Omitsu jinked in every direction she could think of. At the same time, she scanned through the nightmarish mishmash that was war. Where the hell was that person she was following? There! Lida was already firing her shoulder mounted gun, and staying the hell away from incoming. Still bobbling every which way, Omitsu slowly, carefully lined up a single shot and fired. The 50 millimeter projectile hurtled downrange at hypersonic speeds. The result? She hit the Ripper in the foot. The foot! Before she could even curse, she happened to have even more misfortune; two Rippers were descending right at her. Their weapons spat, and she gladly got out of the way.

The Rippers weren't going to give up though, obviously; they were very persistent. The distance rapidly closed as Omitsu struggled to evade their fire, and at the same time, fire off her own weapons. The brunette quickly oriented most of her maneuvers around the closest Ripper, moving so that the second was blocked out by it's girth. It's getting closer! Closer! It was too close to dodge the forearm guns, and she suddenly took smattering across her field, sending her spinning. Omitsu could only see a big blur hurtling at her, and all she could do was stick her arms out to stop it. She flailed out her Aether sabers wildly.

The flailing and spinning managed to do nothing for Omitsu, except possibly save her life. Or perhaps the ripper pilot's error did that. In any case, the Mishhu Armor flew straight past Omitsu, doing nothing, but remaining unharmed. It was quickly set upon by Olivia Yates, whose Aether beam claws tore into the armors shields and sufficiently distracted it from Omitsu. However, the New girl wasn't out of the woods Yet. Two more Rippers were soon upon her, firing their forearm weapons upon her, the horrible aim barely glancing off her shields, doing negligible damage.

This time, the Geshrin had time to swear. Shit! There's no end to them! Omitsu's shields flared as the poorly aimed shots popped around her. Her propulsion kicked in, sending her back and away from the fire, trying to evade the white streams, and occasionally darting as they fired the heavier weapons. She had 15 shots left in her helix, plus a few spare ones; she bounced away from another white beam, and let off a carefully aimed three round burst just as the tracers caught up to her, nipping away at Omitsu's protective field.

Omitsu's shots were dead on, impacting on the ripper's shields and knocking them down, however, she did no damage to the actual armor. The two Rippers moved in on the security team member, Igniting their Aether sabers and rushing in for a head on attack. Lida suddenly appeared out of nowhere, coming to help her wing mate. She tackled the still-shielded Ripper head on, both armors' shields disappearing in a flash of Aether-fueled destruction, the two armors spinning off, in a deadlock, leaving Omitsu the shield less enemy.

Omitsu smiled to herself. I'll have to say thanks later. she thought quickly. The newbie quickly pressed her advantage, holding her ground and only moving erratically to dodge incoming fire. She link fired both her rail gun and forearm projector at the incoming Ripper, trying to get a good 'sweep' over its hulking form. As it got closer, and closer still, she clenched her left fist; if it lived through that hellfire, she was going to knock it up hard with her saber.

The Jinking threw off Omitsu's aim, making her rounds fly wide, doing absolutely nothing, while the Ripper continued to charge. Thanks to Omitsu's shields still being active, the Aether saber blasted the bubble away before fizzling out short of killing Omitsu, whose own Aether beam swords flung wildly useless. The two armors collided, the moving ripper throwing Omitsu's kylie backwards, heavily knocking the pilot inside, who became very rattled from the hit.

She flew back, could barely see anything, other than that damned Mishhu Ripper. Omitsu randomly grabbed at her belt, hoping her fingers would grab something deadly. Less than blink later, she launched both her drones, one to each side, hopefully hooking around to fire at its juicy back. Meanwhile, with her poor aim, she couldn't get a bead with the cannon, and opened up with one of her forearm guns, saving the other up for a close encounter. If I'm lucky enough to live that long...

Omitsu's delirious actions turned out to be a good idea, the drones distracting the Ripper long enough for her Aether beam projectors to blast off the Mishhu's shoulder-mounted Aether cannon, while breaking the two apart. In the meantime, Lida managed to pry herself free of the Ripper she was fighting, Kicking at it and boosting backwards away from it. The ripper, whose brainslave pilot was slightly disoriented from the sudden hit, veered off in an incorrect direction, giving Lida time to go closer to her troubled wing mate, firing her forearm cannons along the way to keep the enemy at bay.

Her drones chiseled away at the thick hide, with one on the left going for the forearm, and the other, re-orientating to fire straight down and onto the head and shoulders. Another white torrent came towards the Ripper she was fighting; it was all or nothing with this one! Omitsu fired everything she had at the ripper. Both her forearms lit afire as her rail gun boomed several times. The rounds the Geshrin had left in her gun counted down to nine, then five, then three. Down to three! Die already, dammit! she raged.

While the firepower blown into the ripper suddenly was quite exceptional, it just wasn't enough. The ripper's armor began flaking and falling off, holes appearing all over, and obvious damage could be seen as enough firepower to destroy most anything came from Omitsu's Kylie. But it wasn't enough. The ripper simply charged, firing its rail gun and forearm cannons, bashing Omitsu's armor in retaliation. The Ripper charged, Thrusting its Deactivated Aether saber (now simply an extremely strong, sharp piece of metal) Straight into Omitsu's stomach. One final shot from a Drone drilled through the last bit of armor, killing the Brainslave inside. Omitsu's armor immediately did whatever it could to keep its pilot alive, sending medicines and materials through to quarantine the small hole through the middle of the armor, but it was obvious there was only so much it could do. Omitsu was alive. barely. The other ripper quickly regained himself, charging back at Lida, whose shield-less status forced her to junk and juke, trying to dodge the shots. Aether blasts flashed past, singing the Kylie's armor from near-misses Worrying her a great deal "Omitsu, If you're not too busy I might need a little help here!" She called over the radio.

It hurt. It hurts so much. the poor urchin thought. It hurt as much as much as say, well, she couldn't remember what it was. Could she? She did. She so wish she didn't. She just wished she could go to sleep, but it all kept her up at nights, still. And even now, what she remembered wouldn't let her sleep. Not in the slightest. The numerous, bloody scissors buried in her parents' bodies. "Oh god not again." she spoke aloud. She looked away from the dead Ripper's face. Ripper. What a fitting name. It really ripped her a new one. Still, the other, who was it again? Still, the voice kept calling for her help. She had to do something. But I can't move. I'm stuck. Omitsu thought, looking at the metal protruding out of her. The call became more annoying, and she started to wonder what she was doing here anyways. Ripper? "Oh god, Lida!" Omitsu's beam saber came online, and cut away the blade so she could move more freely. The dead Ripper's front was completely ruined, but its back should still have something worth using for protection. She painfully pulled it over, pressing her chest into its ruined front, steadying herself in the process. Omitsu only had one shot left in her cannon's magazine. She had to make it count, she had to! Her eyes squinted as things started to become blurry, all she could see left were the crosshairs over the Ripper. She fired. The force had Omitsu fall asleep on the job; sadly, it wasn't the first time either.

The Shot went wide. Partially due to Omitsu's movement, jostling the saber ripped her armor more, which is the reason she fell unconscious so quickly. But, It helped. the sudden warning on the Ripper's system made it juke, Giving Lida a chance, which she took, shooting away her foe's shoulder weapons and saber, not quite de-toothing it, but helping quite a bit. still, the Ripper came at Lida, Punching her armor as hard as it could, the bits of saber left forcing part of the Kylie in on its pilot, injuring her. She fought back, Igniting her Aether beam swords, she charged, smashing into the enemy armor and tearing its arms off. While not dead, the ripper was suddenly useless. Then two more came. But before they came, Omitsu's AIES noted its pilot's unconsciousness, and activated a program that automatically flew Omitsu back to the Raider. Not dead for now, she did, however, need immediate attention.

END

The Raider shuddered under a direct hit to her thin shields, sings showing they were now down to 60%. Luckily the enemies had lost their shields already, or this would be a more dire situation. The Raider nosed over, bringing her main guns to bear on an unlucky NMX Scout. the Scout fired its main gun, ripping through the shields and impacting on the top of the Raider, scoring a deep hole into the ship and venting the recreation bay, which was thankfully empty. But it wasn't enough. One, two, three, four beams of positrons found their mark, breaking the smaller ship in two and obliterating other sections of it as the antimatter canceled the matter of the ship's armor and caused major explosions.

Aerin got on her comms and hailed her three Jinkan. "Cashew, Hope, Ake, you guys focus on the other three scouts, we'll go after the escort. Sensors show the enemy's shields will be back up in a moment and we can't afford to get caught with our panties around our ankles! we're not out of the woods yet!" as if on cue, the largish escort's shields buzzed back to life, and it began to pepper the Raider's weakened shields with light anti-starship fire, preparing to destroy them before it would open up with its heavier cannons.

"Shit, we need to get out of this soon!" Aerin called to her pilot, and the ship began to move, but it wasn't fast enough in any direction but forward, causing them to lose many options. It came down to the choice between being able to hit the enemy soon, or dodge its own weapons.

Lida dodged too and fro as lances of energy spiked at her. She briefly got a glance of Omitsu flying away before another lance narrowly missed her head. She knew she couldn't handle both alone; Lida focused all her concentration and energy into dodging and evading towards friendlies and a Jinkan. "Please help me out here!" she thought desperately.

****

Nanashi barked out orders quickly; "Get me firing solutions on the enemy ship off our bow for both the Positron Arrays! Stagger the shots, one after the other! Focus Laser Turret fire onto it's main cannon." Sumie spared a quick glance at the Raider on her screen. The ship was nearly gutted from the attack, and the last thing she wanted was for the same to happen, or worse. If Nanashi Sumie could have her way, she'd pull her panties up and run. Though, this obviously wasn't the time for that. Hell, it wasn't even an option she'd live through in this case. "Fire!"

Hamish Rejak, Captain of the SS Ake, grunted as his small ship was once again shook by weapons impacts of the NMX Scouts. Glancing at the status screens, each of them being continuously updated by damage reports from the other ships in the group, he began running over the task force's state in his mind. "Time for a change of plans," the middle age Nepleslian muttered in his mind, sighing as he stood up straight.

"Guns, Target the NMX Scout currently engaged in a gun duel with Cashew, and begin HLT fire to bring down it's shields! Helmsman, Bring us about and put us on a heading that will allow us to flank that scout from above. Someone get on the horn with engineering and tell them that we'll need every ounce of power they can give us." As Hamish barked his orders out to his bridge crew, a chorus of "Aye Aye Skipper"s sounded about the bridge, XO Von Rabenstrange picking up an old style phone to reach engineering.

"Chief Engineer, The captain wants maximum power from the reactor, and he wanted it two minutes ago, get on it!"

Suddenly, the Ake went into action, pushing it's ion thrusters into overdrive as it re-oriented itself, heading 'above' the the battlefield, it's HLTs firing on the targeted scout from a constantly changing angle. Now the shoe was on the other foot, with the Ake and the Cashew firing as many HLTs as they could at the single scout.

Fifteen ripper powered armors made nice little blips on Camellia, Jal, and Natalia's HUD's. Well, 30, but fifteen had been portioned off to be the security team's problem. the armors opened up on the three Kylies, as the Raider began to move off behind them, engaging in a battle with the larger mishhu ships. The fifteen Rippersopened fire from a distance, attempting to hit the small group of armors. Natalia and Jal dived out of the way of the shots, returning fire with their forearm weapons.

Camellia dodged the fire as well, her forearm mounted aetheric claws flaring to life as her HUD plotted a course through the ripper fire to allow her to gain ground on the incoming armors.

Jal and Natalia's fire managed to impact on the shields of a number of the enemies, infuriating them and causing them to accelerate closer, closing the distance between the 15 and the three. Cam's wingmates activated their Aether claws as well, following their leader. Within ten seconds the two groups clashed, the Kylies ripping through their first rippers, but the second set had their shields up still, and began firing on the now very close Kylies.

Camellia dodged and weaved within the conflagration, the small fire doors on the missile pods attached to the Kylie's legs opened as Camellia did a sweeping tag scan, and then fired a line of AM-M5-SD micromissles. "Watch yourselves girls, Anti-shield missiles on the field."

the missiles made their way out, but about half were intercepted before they could be useful. Still, three of the Rippers lost shielding and Jal and Natalia jumped at two of them, ripping with their Aether claws at the exposed armors. Jal was a bit careless, and ended up getting a nice shot square into his shields, knocking them to nothing.

*****

The escort opened fire, but the faster Raider managed to dodge most of the shots. Hangar doors peeled off, and one of the winglets sported a deep gouge, almost to the middle of the section. It held, however, even as the Raider began to fall apart under the heavy fire. So she replied, with Antimatter. Lots and lots of Antimatter. More antimatter than it was sane for any single ship to have poured forth from the four cannons on the front of the Raider, the first impacting on the shields and reducing them to practically nothing, the second breaking through and negating armor, and the last three poking rather enormous holes in the front end, middle, and engines of the Escort.

and the Damn thing kept firing, it's main guns offline, it hammered away at the weakened raider with its few remaining AA turrets.

The Cashew and Ake's joint tactics proved to be rather successful, the withering fire of HLT's quickly bringing the shields offline and pockmarking the hull of the NMX ship easily, and the Cashew's Positron blasts finishing the ship off in one fell swoop. However, they had neglected the last two ships, who took measures against the two Origin escorts and got the Cashew in a Pincer move, coming in from either side, they pummeled the shields of the Cashew, reducing them to nothing in moments before hammering the foot-thick nerimium hull did a decent job of absorbing fire, but the rooms on one side of the ship were vented to space, spraying debris and belongings out into the void of space.

The captain of the Cashew gritted her teeth as the impacts rocked her ship. "Ma'am, damage to the starboard sections on the ship! We've lost barracks!" Nanashi tapped her fingertips as the shots hammered at her ship. "Hold fire and divert power to engines. Forward and hard to port; I want a counter pincer done on that ship off our side now!" This move should present our...better off port-side to the enemy ship and let us pincer it with my Cashew from the enemy's starboard and the Ake from above. Should I go for the turrets or something, or just shoot it? As Nanashi's ship tried to, simply put, push forward and make a left U-turn around the enemy ship, one of her crew members made a cute little whine.
"All my stuff...it's gone." she whimpered.
"You're such a bridge bunny Tsuya." Nanashi snapped. "But that's why we love you. I'll make up for it after this, don't worry!" The captain quickly topped off her remark to be greeted by a few chuckles from the other members. "What are you laughing at? We got Tentacle Monsters to kill! As soon as we've turned hard to port, redistribute energy. Re-initiate fire on it's main and secondary cannons."

"All Hands, Prepare for acceleration! Fire all laser turrets on that NMX scout, and put us behind the other one. I want staggered fire from our positron cannons on the scout. Tell Engineering to put as much power as possible into our HLTs. Try to ease the pressure on the Cashew!" As Hamish yelled his new orders to the crew of the Ake, the ship accelerated sharply, spinning on its axises to point its prow, and the two Positron cannons in it towards the Scout attacking the Cashew. The numerous Heavy Laser Turrets on the ship's surface took aim on the scout flanking the Ake, and opened fire, beams of deadly photonic energy blazing out and striking the NMX ship's shields, weakening them with each shot. Soon, the lasers were joined by individual beams of deadly positrons from the Ake's Medium Positron cannons.

"Make that thing stop shooting at us!" Aerin ordered, and the Gunnery officer followed suit, by pumping several Ion cannon bolts into the Escort, overloading what working power cables there were and silencing the large craft. The SS Hope finally made her way into battle, having hung back at first to snipe at the shields of the remaining enemy ships. It formed up above the raider, using itself to cover for the hole in the Raider's hull. It joined its HLT fire with the Cashew and Ake, firing its positron cannons for the first time this battle.

By this point, only the Ake had enough Antimatter built up to fire her main cannons, the Cashew, Hope, and Raider having exhausted theirs. However, this wasn't so much of a problem, because only one of the remaining ships had shields. HLT fire poured into to ship that had poked a hole in the Cashew, quickly ablating armor and reducing the ship to scrap, but not before it managed to fire back with its main cannons, punching holes into the Ake's shields. The last ship, having been ignored, took advantage of the aggressive teamwork by the origin ships, and fired on the now shieldless Ake, hitting it from beneath, it gutted the lower deck, removing the fusion generator in the process. As the other Mishhu ship gave out its last death throes, the Ake quietly stopped working, drifting off along its previous path.

"Bull, we need you to come and catch the Ake, she's heavily damaged and drifting!" Aerin called over the comms to the MAP, which she was no longer afraid for. One small ship wasn't going to do anything to the huge assembly platform.

As the small escort was shook by a massive explosion to it's underside, the hard-lines to the now eradicated engineering section all went dead, and the main power to the Ake shut off, leaving the ship drifting. Thinking quickly, Captain Rejak turned to his XO, Arnold Von Rabenstrange, who was attempting to contact any of the other ships in the small flotilla.

"Mister Rabenstrange. Gather up a small skeleton crew for the shuttle. I want you to use it to nudge the Ake towards the Bull. While you're doing that, I want you to raise up the captain of the Crimshaw, and tell them that we need his frames over here to cover us. You have your orders, now get to it." The XO saluted, then scrambled out of the small bridge into the smoke filled hallways of the Ake, quickly gathering up a small crew and launching the Impulse from the Jinkan's rear shuttle bay, transmitting messages to the Bull and the Crimshaw in morse code.

"Destruction of the Ake's fusion generator confirmed, they are dead in the water!" Tsuya called out. "The MAP is intercepting the Ake."
"Roberto, clear us of the wreckage and bring us about. I want our bow facing the final enemy scout." As Nanashi doled out her authoritative orders, the tips of her fingers came together over her lap, gently tapping one another. It's almost over. We just have to make sure everything goes fine as we finish this last one off. For a moment, she was content like a fat cat.
"Ma'am, firing orders?" She jolted.
"Focus all turrets on the engines, next, main turret. We Do Not want any more surprises today. No suicide ramming, no final bullet crap." As she tapped her fingers together again, Nanashi looked down and pursed her lips, slightly embarrassed. Her hands moved back to the arm rests; she did not want to end up looking like some evil mistress on her throne. Nanashi shot out a furtive glance at the screens. A lone Kylie was chasing several Rippers, designation 'Lida'. Meanwhile, a shuttle was departing from the Ake. "Please target this and only this Ripper here with starboard turrets five through eleven." she pointed out on display.
"Yes ma'am." Hideki replied. One of the three Rippers Lida was chasing burst into flames, specifically, one that pilot was not trying to kill quite yet.
"Thank you." She sarcastically groaned, leaning back.

The final NMX Scout decided it was prudent to fire every weapon it had, as fast as it could, simultaneously. It targeted the SS Cashew and the damaged SS Raider specifically, knowing it had the highest chance of destroying those two particular ships. The Cashew's concentrated fire on the engines, however, was successful, though not in removing the engines. it blew down the Scout's shields, leaving it open to attack, but the NMX ship's pilot, in a stroke of luck or genius, had maneuvered the ship so the Raider and Hope could not fire back at it. As the slow bull began to make its way toward the stricken Ake, another problem presented itself. The 15 remaining battlepods had succeeded and stripping the Crimshaw of its defensive weaponry, as well as heavily damaging most of the frames. They decided the Crimshaw was no longer worth it, and began Harrying the SS Hope, while the Raider took potshots at the pods, they expertly took out any HLT's that appeared on the hull of the bewildered Hope.

"Re-orientate the ship and present the port side to the Scout. Continue bombardment on the Scout, but put priority on enemy battlepods and power armor within HLT range." Nanashi gave a quick glance at her tactical display. The Hope was having its turrets picked off, like being neutered. Though she was a woman down to her very last cell, the idea of helplessness made Nanashi shiver, "Roberto, bring us about and continue pursuit! Don't let them use the Ake as a shield!" She started to think; "I hate surprises, and just as I hope that none of that comes up, look what happens! Goddamn cornered little shits always put up a fight. By now I just want my Twinkies!"

The Ake continued to drift powerless, though now its impulse shuttle was pressed against it, it's thrusters at max as it tried to push the escort towards the Bull. Captain Hamish Rejak sighed as his powerless ship was pushed towards the massive ship, positively bored with his current position. "They just had to take out our main reactor, didn't they?"

The Cashew took the hits to its port armor, poking holes in that side of the ship and venting more rooms to space. The large amount of holes in the Hull meant the Cashew was limited to its placement of turrets, and the amount of turrets it could deploy at once. In fact, the HLT bay had been ripped open, and the Cashew's inactivated HLT's in storage began spilling out, heading off into space The Raider and hope kept moving, trying to bring themselves closer to the Cashew as well as shake the battlepods, all the while attempting to fire on that last pesky scout.
The Bull still lumbered through space, coming from its far back position and finally entering the main battlefield, prepping its construction area for the Ake, which had suddenly changed directions due to the Onset shuttle pushing it along.

"HLT bay damaged! Turrets thirty six through fifty have been lost!" Tsuya called out. "Port side barracks is depressurizing." For some reason she seemed at ease. Most likely because she wasn't the only one who lost her possessions.
"Roberto, more thrust, more speed! Circle around the Scout and re-orientate the ship; present the belly to them." Nanashi quickly glanced at the armor status at the hull and nodded; the belly was still good as new. "Have the ship advance towards the Raider and Hope. Hideki, next move the remaining turrets to the bow and target enemy battlepods and power armor units that are harassing our friends." As the ship shuddered, a new sound came to her ears as her precious Cashew groaned from the force of the engines pushing against the damaged body. Enemy fire raked the belly and Nanashi watched as the status lights turned darker. Across the bridge, a smaller screen showed a lone Kylie rush back to the Raider. She groaned with her ship in displeasure as it was hammered.

XO Von Rabenstrange sat back in the shuttle, entwining his fingers in front of his face. "Pilot, begin using this shuttle to transfer HLTs to the Cashew, and open a Comm screen with the captain of the Cashew!" The onset's pilot quickly did as ordered, a communication channel being created directly to the Cashew's bridge. "Captain Sumie, we're going to lend you some of the Ake's HLTs. Please accept them."

The Cashew's HLT's did short work on the battlepods, which had been expecting the ship to be preoccupied with the Scout. However, this left the Cashew's bottom open to the Scout's Main cannon, which it fired, barely missing and blowing the pointed tip off the front of the ship. Cashew's HLT's kept the hurt on the ship however, keeping its head down long enough to let the Raider and Hope rise to a proper orientation to begin pounding the Scout with their turrets, the debris field making it hard to get clean hits, however.

The ship shook; it was different from the other ones. From her position, Nanashi could see Tsuya's chest jiggle in off the screen's reflection. She blushed, jealous. "Ma'am, we've lost the prow of the ship! But we're receiving HLTs from the Ake along with a communication channel. Opening and bringing it onscreen!" Tsuya spoke in a panicky voice. Nanashi kept sitting there with an impassive face as Von Rabenstrange said his part. She stood.
"I humbly accept." Nanashi said the traditional phrase before a meal, bowing, a slight smile on her face. "Hideki, I want all turrets on the upper hull now! Roberto, commence a counter clockwise roll of one hundred and eighty degrees!" The Geshrin captain was still standing, and raised an arm to the ceiling, index finger pointing up. "All turrets, open fire!"
Ironically, since the ship was 'upside down', Nanashi was pointing somewhat towards the final Scout.

The pilot of the small shuttle pushed the craft to its limits, straining to transfer the five HLTs grabbed from the Ake to the Cashew

And that was the final blow on the final NMX scout, the sustained HLT fire finally bursting through the debris field to properly F**k up the final NMX scout, reducing it to mostly slag and scrap metal, as well as a few frozen Mishhu. The Bull finally made contact with the Ake, and pulled it in to begin repairs. The remaining Origin ships could now focus their efforts on cleaning up the rest of the Ripper powered armors, who were in utter disarray.

Nanashi snorted and suddenly awoke. "What the hell? I fell asleep?!"
"Yeah, sorry we didn't wake you ma'am, but it was only a good three seconds."
"Damn you Roberto. Status Tsuya."
"Last NMX scout destroyed, friendly Powered Armor Units mopping up the last of them."
"Alright, let’s lend them a hand, but make sure they have their fill too. Fire at will." Nanashi spoke with a wave of her hand. Again, she was blushing a little, but shrugged off the embarrassment. "You know, I still don't know why you guys won't at least try a deep fried Twinkie with me."

Captain Rejak gingerly sipped from his mug of coffee, quietly sitting in the captain’s chair as his remaining crew oversaw the repairs to the Ake. Picking up the phone line to the onset shuttle being used as an impromptu communications station, he smiled. "Ah, Von Rabenstrange. Could you relay my thanks to the captains of the Cashew, Raider, Crimshaw, Hope, and Bull? The Ake would be space dust now if it weren’t for their help."

Aerin smiled as she got the message relayed from the Ake. It was good to know the ship was still alive, if down. "Good work everyone." Aerin sent to the entire task force, beaming with pride. "You all fought well, and all took a beating, but we made it through. Now, let's kick it and get our asses in gear and into the KMS. The Interdiction field is gone and we can now get to light speed. The Ake will be carried along with the Bull. Cashew gets second treatment after the Ake is finished, with the Crimshaw following and finally the Raider.” Aerin input the coordinates for the jump, and sent them to all the ships. "Ready to go?" she asked.

"No thanks, that's disgusting, deep frying a perfectly good cream filled pastry!" Tsuya spoke up.
"Yeah, and if I were religious, I'd say it blasphemy." Roberto added on.
"I'm religious, and I say it's blasphemy!" Hideki cried out.
"Screw you guys! Prepare for space-fold! And as soon as we're under way, I ORDER you guys to take a bite each and swallow!" The three crew members gulped.
Some time later, Hideki spoke again. "You know, this isn't so bad."
"Yeah, I second that." Roberto seconded.
"This is too weird. I know it shouldn't be good....but..." Tsuya could only give a horribly confused grin. Nanashi sat, lord of the kitchen, and was satisfied as a fat, fed cat.

The Bridge crew of the Ake was on standby alert, with the captain in his quarters. The day had been saved, the ship was still alive, and it'd be ready for action within a week. And, even better, all of the tea onboard had managed to survive, and the captain had decided that everyone got a celebratory drink in honor of the day's victory
