I only have two concerns:

1. Do you have the time to work on this, Andrew? This seems like a lot of work.

2. I'm worried that people will see this as a conflict of interest, since you now control both the Yamataian throne and this new faction.

Admittedly, I agree. Even if Yamatai kind of just ended up in your lap, it's just not something that we should let happen, neh? Separation of powers and all. *grins*

I'm not against it. Since Andrew's return, he's shown me no cause to doubt for his objectivity. Actually, I'm surprised the point even came up.

It's not a knock against Andrew's objectivity, at least in my case. Same as it's been with you, Fred -- it just feels wrong to have a GM in control of more than one faction. I mean ... unless they deal with the 5th XF only, in which case it's more like they're just an NPC faction he's using. I forget what the plan is for them.

Maybe it's just me but the writeups seem kind of awkward and clunky. The content itself is quite good mind you, but the way you've fragmented everything into sub-articles tends to ruin the flow of reading up on them. You know what I mean? It's like, "Here is what they eat" on one page, "Here is some important dates" on another, "Here is what their laws are", and so on. It really feels like I can't just sit down and casually find out who these people are; I have to chase it from one wiki page to another.

When/if you create a CCG for players, I'd seriously recommend you gather small bits from all your articles and integrate it into a sort of "summary" for your race, then have your more in-depth articles link off of that; I've been told potential players get turned off if it takes too long to comprehend what a race is about/

Another possible addition would be a guide on their culture and society. You have a constitution, formal greetings, statistics and whatnot...but you don't seem to go into depth on what kind of nation this is.

Who are these people? What are their lives like? What is their society like? Is their society ascetic or hedonistic? Are their homes sterile and cold, or do colorful decorations adorn their walls? Are dinners commonly treated with the arms-length politeness of a buisness meeting, or are they loud boisterous gatherings of the entire neighborhood? Does the government tend to put efficiency or morality first? Is corruption prevalent or unheard of? Does this people see invalids as the unfortunate to be cared for, or a cancer to be cut out for the good of everyone else? Is their society a mosaic or a melting pot; conformist or expressive?

Statistics, lists, and laws on paper are all well in good, but I feel you also need to give it depth in more than one dimension. I believe this will help better shape who they are in the eyes of others. And don't be afraid to generalize; it's better to cover everything only moderately rather than being very deep in just a few select parts of the writeup.

Yangfan and Doshii

I guess I will address this head on.

Noria has always been a work of passion for me, Wes know this more than anyone because it is the work which brought us into meeting to begin with.

I don't see this as a conflict of interest, firstly due to the vast difference between the goals of each nation are so different that it is unlikely there will be much if any direct interaction in the early stages. The alliance between them has long since expired.

Also in thought, I don't think this remergance is going to be immediate (likely not the few weeks I quoted above when I was feeling over zelous), something I think Strangelove missed is this is a work in progress, I am still busy pulling together information from the notebooks, transcripts and other sources of my work.

Noria is apart of history, their interaction with the NDI and Yamatai was vital to driving the Hive off Ayenee.

So I guess in closing, I will say bluntly this...There is no conflict of interest, and give me the benefit of the doubt. It is very rare that I as administrator decide to use my power for my own benefit, but I think in this instance I am going to have to say that I am more than qualified to handle what I have taken on and to decide on what I see fit.
