Worldeaters: Yes/No?

Hey, I've been thinking about my silly "worldeaters" idea, and thought it might actually be a refreshing change to the SARP. I mean, the Mishhu story has been going on for four years - this might be a fun twist!

So it's like this...

The "worldeaters" are bug-like creatures of varying proportions and shapes, some look more like spiders, some like odd mixtures between ants and flies, and so on. They are not controlled by any hive mind, though they have a "queen" persay. This "queen" simply reproduces with the workers, who die afterward. There are many worldeater queens, one for each worldeater 'mound' (essentially a stronghold). On to the workers... The workers produce a substance called Niosilum, which is an incredibly potent acid capable of burning through most metallic substances (excluding zesuaim, yamataium, etc.) which is also able to be burned as fuel.

Niosilum is consumed by the warriors, which in turn are able to spit it out at their enemies to burn them to death. The worldeaters eat flesh and meat, and are therefore a very combative race, hence the name. They are able to travel through space by fitting into a pressurized air-socket which rest along the sides of a worldeater overlord. This overlord is an enormous creature that spews consumed Niosilum out as flames behind it in order to propel itself at high-speed through space. Generally, about 5,000,000 Kilos of Niosilum is used to travel 1 LY while moving at FTL speed. On that note, worldeater-controlled planets tend to produce around 15,000,000 kilos of Niosilum every standard Yamatai day. Niosilum is also used as a sort of biological weapon in space. It is spewed out at incredibly high speed while burning, essentially turning it into a bolt of plasma. (This needs help: can't figure out how to move the plasma at over 1c.)

There are also worldeater "underlords", which are enormous creatures often around half the size of a planet, that burrow into the crust of a planet and wrap themselves around it in order to extract raw nutrients and materials.

Worldeaters have natural carapace ranging is hardness and thickness from anywhere between two cm composite titanium to six cm of Zesuaium.

(So how is it so far? Sound cool?!)

Edit: Not asking to change the plot, this is a suggestion for when Wes is done with the Mishhuvurthyar for good =P (which could be never)

I'll take a serious consideration stab at it.

Everyone loves evil bug locust type villains that eat worlds but it's kinda old and used. The queen nexus that is their achilles heel is again cliche' but again, I like it just the same. Overall: This needs a new angle.

Anyways, that's pretty much it. Sorry but creativity is a little strapped so that's all I got. ;p

Other than that tho, I like evil bug locusts that eat worlds. Very horrible villains to fight. But yeah, given the Mishhu are our current plot plus we have many sub-plots folks would probably also like to do before something big happens, there's plenty of time to tweak this.

I think it might be relevant to re-open this. I know we've got one or two antagonists flooding into the SARP storyline, so maybe a third constructed of world-eating species/creatures could be a good idea. Just not bugs. Because tyranids are really over-done at this point. Probably not a very good base to start off of, admittedly, but maybe the world "eating" isn't technically the type we normally see such as consumption of life. Maybe it's a species that takes materials from worlds specifically, so they might drill into it (effectively "eating" the world in the process) to obtain these. The Kudhacari somewhat fit this mentality, but they're not going to likely fit a system-threatening mentality. Seems just too opportune to not reboot this discussion when we're in an age that various antagonistic species/entities are being brought about.

I guess we could technically do bugs, though. Just really, REALLY overdone in settings to see some bug-like critters destroying worlds.

In other settings, the bugs that eat worlds are indeed overdone. This idea isn't completely terrible though. I am working on a species similar to the kett in Mass Effect Andromeda in some ways.

It is really two species that were once a single species. The original species is peaceful. They were masters of genetics and biotechnology. Two factions eventually developed. One sought to preserve their original form, but the other began to recklessly add DNA from other species to their own until they no longer resembled the original species.

A war erupted between the two, resulting in the destruction of their homeworld. The survivors fled on a massive bioship to the only place they could - the void between galaxies. Their "worldship" would reach the edge of the Kikyo, and a year or so later the antagonistic species would arrive with dozens of worldships at the edge of the galaxy. Their purpose is to seek out new species looking for DNA to add to their own and eliminate the inferior species, aka anyone else.

It's just an idea, I don't think it will ever be more than that unless someone thinks it could work on SARP.
