Since the night spent trying to stay up in the lounge aboard the Eucharis was glossed over, I thought it might be prudent to flesh it out here, even though it might be brief. It's worth specifying that this takes place the night before the current events on the dreamworld (as of 24 September).

Dreamworld - YSS Eucharis - Lounge

Sienna followed the small group into the lounge a few paces behind, saying nothing to break the silence as they walked ahead of her. She folded her arms and looked around at the glossy surfaces and how they contrasted with the carpeted ones, waiting her turn to get herself a cup of coffee.

A light conversation had started amongst those gathered, but she made no effort to join it. Rather, she filled a coffee mug and took a seat on one of the couches away from the group, her back to the wall, and placed the warm mug on the table in front of her. She crossed her legs and leaned back into the seat, blinking the encroaching sleepiness away. She hadn't noticed the droning thrum of the engines before, but now that the ship had landed and powered down, the eerie silence only added to her feeling of unease in this place.

What she'd overheard about this dreamworld was unsettling at best. It sounded completely ridiculous, a planetwide economy based entirely on dreams and mental copies of its visitors. But she didn't want to risk it either way. Even though she wasn't particularly interested in socializing, she rationalized that being in the company of others would make it easier to stay awake.

Kale entered the lounge with just behind Chieko. The place was much more luxurious then he would have thought, being a military ship and all.

After getting a drink he picked a random sofa sit on while everyone else got their own desired beverages or broke off into their own groups.

A perfect opportunity to get to know his new crew.

"So, what are we all having?" Chieko smiled as she began orbiting the seating area, "Caffeine would be the best I suppose, but not all poisons are the same." She bent over and rested her elbows on the back of the couch behind Kale and looked around. "Anyone?"

Sienna slightly raised an eyebrow at the dark-haired Minkan trying to strike up a conversation, taking a careful sip of her hot coffee. As she took the cup from her lips and leaned forward to set it down, she replied, "Unless y'all got anything stronger'n caffeine, I'm good with this."

She leaned back upright in the couch and rested her left arm across the back of it as she brushed some of her hair off of her forehead with her right hand.

"I'm just having water," said Deziarra not wanting to be left out of the conversation.

As she sipped her water, she turned her attention to Sienna. Deziarra did not know much about Sienna except that she was the civilian passenger on board.

"What made you decide to join the YSS Eucharis?" she asked.

Lightly leaning her temple against the knuckle of her right index finger, propped up by her elbow on the couch back, Sienna nonchalantly looked Deziarra's way. "Convenience," she replied. "Y'all showed up and I stuck out a thumb. That, and the amenities are to die for," she added with a subtle wry smirk, flaring her eyes slightly to accentuate the last few words.

Kale raised an eyebrow at that one.

"You wanted to explore the galaxy, so you decided to hitchhike on a warship?" Kale asked. "I thought they were places where most people didn't want to venture. Mostly because of the danger factor I guess."

He shrugged non committaly and sunk back into his seat a little more.

"I take it your circumstances were... less then ideal before the Eucharis made planetfall?"

It was interesting in and of itself that the woman had managed to talk her way onboard the vessel at all, never mind willingly. It spoke somewhat favourably about her character. Well... about what the captain thought of her anyway.

Chieko shrugged then went to the bar to fix herself a cup of black tea. "I didn't hear much about the wish to explore," she smirked hearing Kale's reply to Sienna's story, "Though to be a guest on this ship you must have been pulled out of some desperate circumstances. Am I right?"

Sienna smirked at Chieko's back as the latter went to pour herself a beverage. "Astute," she replied simply, and took another drink of her coffee.
