Approved Character [188604 Plot] Takimori, Ronin

188604 is the land of people with improbably cool names.

This is ultimately Zack's call, but my understanding is that the star army has never fielded mechs, so his experience in the second misshu war would be in seeing NMX Ravagers or Renders in action. That could do with a bit of specification, but that's my only issue.

I got the impression he was working on more than just mechs. The SAOY also has Toshiro's project thought armor mecha... He could have been working with one of those units.

Maybe we should have a Yamatai FM sign off on the backstory?

His experience with mechs seems to come after his enlistment using Origin Industries stuff, though.

I just had beef with the line saying how he saw first hand their effectiveness during the NMX war, and felt like pointing out that any such experience would have been him being on the receiving end of Misshu stompies.

Yeah, that is part of it. He saw it more second-hand (which if I wrote first I'll be correcting it) via the damage from those who survived scuffles with the NMX Mecha. As for piloting mecha, the experience came post-SAOY, due to how he only received pilot training (in general) from them during his reassignment. I had imagined the controls within craft would be at least somewhat identical across things, hence him learning to pilot mecha via proxy of standard fighter training. If that's not the case, I can amend it quickly.

It's mostly that the yamatai folks are pretty touchy about mechs. They don't believe in them, so it's saving a headache by being clear that a love of giant robots came post-service.

You can always just say he took star army construction mech training, and then say he got better after leaving.
