Redesignated by the CONSTRACOM as the First Expeditionary Fleet because of their extra-territorial deployment, the First Expeditionary Fleet is the first of seven expeditionary fleets that will be deployed by the Nerimian Defense Initiative over the ne. The First Expeditionary Fleet was forged from the remnants of the Tenth and Fourteenth Battle Fleets, which were defeated in the battles of Antares and Eridanus Serpentis against the Jaaq\'tah Alliance. Even though these soldiers experienced defeat at the hands of the reptilian hordes, they are considered \'elite\' soldiers because of their skills in battle.
The fleet has adopted the symbol of the Black Eagle native to the world of Antares, a symbol of unrelenting courage and ferocity in the face of an enemy. The Strategic Military Director, Kage Xeraux, has personally hand-picked each of the fleet\'s senior commanders in order to ensure a level of fanaticism in this unit that has never been seen before in a Confederate military unit. With this in mind, the First Expeditionary Fleet\'s goal is to explore and conquer new worlds for the Nerimian Confederation.
Forces:
The Black Eagles organize their fleets utilizing the standard 3-3-5 organization principle (3 Task Forces consisting of 3 Battle Groups consisting of 5 Squadrons). With its construction and training apparatus in full-operation, the Black Eagles have twenty-five Spacy Marine divisions at their disposal, equipped with the latest in weapons systems.

Though brutalized by the Diamond Fleet in Eridanus Serpentis, the 308th has quickly been brought back to its full strength by increased production. It has received a new Suzaku flagship (DN-44 Xerxes Wright) along with several Alpha-Hotel and Sierra-Romeo vessels directly from the Antares Orbital Shipyards. The 308th specializes in a blitz-style of warfare that hits the enemy fast and hard before they can adequately react to the sudden strike.

It is primarily a reconnaissance and attrition unit, utilizing its healthy compliment of Nova-Fox and Sierra-Romeo vessels to harass enemy forces quickly and effectively.
