Yamatai News (YINN) [YINN] Tamahagane breaks ground on new Headquarters

Location: Yamatai, Vela Prefecture

Screen opens on a massive construction site, an assortment of flying craft carrying various objects can be seen. As the camera pans a number of large trucks hauling large SSCT with supplies rumbles past the camera. The camera pans back to the commentator; as the camera pans in the distance a large structure can be seen.

The brunette female YINN reporter looks into the camera “We are standing here today, at the heart of a massive crater created in the tragic battle only a few weeks ago. In fact this whole area around me was actually much lower, construction workers have been working round the clock to build this large spot in the center of the crater. Tamahagane has named this spot Teisenjou. This is where the future headquarters for the corporation will be located. In fact in a few minutes there will be ground breaking ceremony to start that effort."

The reporter then moves to another point and the camera follows. She is standing next to a lone road that heads out to the horizon. “This is the first of four major thoroughfares that will physically connect Teisenjou with the other side of the crater and the rest of Yamatai.” She points down to the crater bottom where glistening liquid can be seen. “At the deepest points of the crater, a site of devastating destruction life is beginning. After clearing the crater of debris from an enemy warship, and building the land mass that Teisenjou will rest on. Water from the frequent rains has begun filling the basin. Every day the Lake Kakouko fills a little bit more. Tamahagane Research personnel are seeding the water with an assortment of flora and fauna. It is this goal that when the lake is filled that it will be a flourishing ecosystem.”

She then points off to the distance, “Over there about five kilometers from where we are standing, rising out of the ground is a reminder of what happened here. A six hundred and fifty meter piece of an NMX Chiharu remains. We have been told that it will serve as a memorial to not only the battle but all those who perished or suffered as a result of it.” Turning back to face the camera an aerial image of the site appears next to her. “In light of the destruction of the Hoshi no Iori, the corporation is working with the government to establish a ring of massive farms that will circle the lake to help provide food. … okay, I am being told that the ground breaking ceremony is about to take place, so we are switching to my associate.”

The scene changes and a small platform with several members of the corporation are standing. Behind the platform, a massive earth mover is parked and a large Tamahagane and Imperial flag hang off the side. Each of them is wearing jumpers with the TC logo, and is holding a shovel. Tamahagane Hikaru the CEO is notable because his shovel is covered in gold. At a nod from him the part moves off the platform and takes a position in front of it. Hikaru steps forward and addresses the media. “On this the final day of the thirty-third year of the empire, the Tamahagane Corporation marks a bold new beginning. On this site a building will be erected that will become the new headquarters for our corporation.”

He turns his shovel so that it points to the ground, and puts his foot on it. A second later the board members do the same. Then all the members drive their shovels into the ground and scoop out a pile of dirt. They then place all the dirt they scooped into a single neat pile. The others step back and Hikaru looks back at the camera. “It is our intention to turn this place of destruction into a place of prosperity and hope. Teisenjou will be a city that will serve as a shining example. No matter what those who would try to crush us do; we will rise above adversity.”

Behind the CEO the earth mover rolled silently away. Behind it a large structure that towered over scene could be seen. It was obviously part of a larger structure, a quarter of a circle in shape. A black line rose up and vanished into the sky. Then the Anthem of Yamatai began playing from the speakers around the scene. Hikaru and the others turned towards the structure. A cylindrical object slowly ascended from the building, it was fifty meters in diameter, and twenty five meters tall. The top five meters of the object were covered with large glass windows. It accelerated steadily following the line and soon vanished from view.

Hikaru turned back to the media. “Ladies and Gentlemen of the press that was one of our newest products. It is an ascender for our Suribashi Space Elevator. It is on its way to Amatsu-Alpha, one of our new spaceports that is in orbit above us at just over 30,000 miles. It will make the trip up in just a little over three hours. We invite all of you to come for a ride on it for its next journey. Appropriately, that Enkan is named ‘Spirit of Yamatai’. When this site is complete, there will be four Suribashi making regular runs from the surface to the station above.

Thank you for your time, long life to the Empress, and to the Yamatai Star Empire.”

At that moment the other members of the ceremony began singing the Anthem.
