A question about naming...

Is 'Lawnmower' a suitable first-name for a Nepleslian child?

Like 'Lawnmower Davison' or 'Lawnmower Johnson'?

I can imagine the conversation.

"Are you a wrestler or something?"
"No."
"Boxer?"
"No."
"Qui--"
"I'm not in any sports."
"Is it a local nickname then?"
"No. I mostly keep to myself."
"So what's your real first name?"
"That is my real first name."
"What? Your first name is Lawnmower?"
"My parents were hippies".

Nepleslian hippies are clearly different.

But no, seriously. Let's talk about what makes a name.

Nepleslian GMs, do you think 'Lawnmower' is suitable?

Has an air Zappa doesn't it? Dweezil Zappa... Diva Zappa... Ahmet Zappa... Fucking Moon Unit Zappa (I lose it every time I read that). Just awesome.

Also, what would aethersperm call their kids?

I'm not sure if trolling, but initially my reaction is that, especially in Nepleslia where it's apparently (listed in the Wiki) common for Nepleslians to sometimes have all sorts of genetic makeup and so on, any name which could be conceived would probably work.

Even in our low-grade tier-nothing Earth society, we name our kids some pretty stupid stuff.

I'm sure that many manly-sounding objects would make suitable names for Nepleslians: Boiler, Sledge, Jackhammer, Grill, Concrete, Quarry, Dam, Shredder, Furnace, Brick, Stump, Ditch, Dynamite, Slab, Rock, etc.

However, remember that lawnmower could also be interpreted as a job. So naming a character Lawnmower could be like naming a character Janitor. Also, since historically many last names (family names) are job-derived, some odd combinations could result like "Lawnmower Baker" or "Lawnmower Farmer."

I like when people name their kids things like America and think you should consider naming your character Nepleslia or Hoshi-gun Yamatai which means Yamatai Star Army!
