"When the Senate becomes an embrassment of itself, going to the point of having the temerity of refusing to acknowledge its dominant members, the nekovalkyrja, as a species... then I declare that its usefulness has obviously come to an end.
Empress Himiko, I point out that these people know more about squabbling than about how to rule themselves. As ruling clan, with you at our head, this is our task. But there is no point in putting power in freedom of speech if what results from it is such foolishness.
The Senate was abolished in the past, but then generously reinstated. Twice in my memory. There were compelling reasons for its abolishment then, and I feel they have not changed. I feel that the generosity that was extended to allow such voice to be heard has again grown undeserved.
I would advice that the role the Senate fulfills be moved to the Imperial Court. There, representatives could be appointed to present the thoughts of the Yamataian people, for you to purview and measure when faced with dilemmas, or to ratify any rulings that would further define and refine our Empire.
I ask this as a person disheartened to save her home only to see it extend so little respect for those whom put themselves in the line of danger to spare them those pains.
I ask for justice. I ask for respect we, your subjects, your sisters, are due."
