After everyone else had been given their dismissal Dream managed to stop fidgeting with anything but the side of her uniform which all in all wasn't too distracting she would have thought if she had been aware of doing it. "Yes ma'am?" Rose asked when she had bridged the distance between them.

The offer had been interesting, but there was still something the young woman was riding on for the officer to do in the meantime and it how it was handled had a lot to do with confidences.

"I'm not sure if you've heard the results of Kagura's blood test, yet, and it has to do with what you said earlier. I'm not much of a doctor, but the effects that Kagura experienced were anomalous to what 'Calm' should do. So I had our medical crew run a few extra tests on Kagura's samples." Esther sighed, pulling out a recent medical onto her datapad screen. "She's just one of a few people that have adverse reactions to it. Instead of numbing all emotions, it dragged her into a deep depression, and you saw the results."

"There won't be a court-martial."

The XO was finding this to be difficult explain, as the medic had seemed so adamant about seeing some kind of justice done in the end. What command had decided was probably for the best, and yet, it probably wouldn't satisfy the original demand. "Adrian wasn't out of his bounds for prescribing what is usually an over the counter substance, but he will be reprimanded for being careless. Kagura is being given a few months of medical leave and counseling to recuperate, and the inquiry is going to stop there."

"He didn't prescribe it, he used it like a fuck'n spook! Shit I didn't know I could pump someone full of drugs just because I didn't like the noise they were making! Whatta snowjob. Guess the price of one woman's trauma outweighs much happen'n to some ass full on himself that has medical training and an IPG badge huh, ma'am?" Rose wasn't even sure how she got through her fast-paced reply without more swearing, or directing her anger towards the woman who could even say something like that to her with a straight face.

Spinning in a full, slow circle Dream took a loud, exasperated breath to calm herself, "Fine..reprimanded. Good enough, hey? Doesn't mean a slap on the wrist does it, ma'am?" That time she kept it better in check, though her cheeks were burning a flushed red by that point. She did feel better yelling a bit, at least. There was always time to crawl into a bottle when they got to the tourist trap and hit a parlor. "Guess the captain'd told me to fuck off yeah? Better than nothing." That flimsy reason was about all she could convince herself with to at least go with the officer who seemed to care even a little.

"Please calm yourself, private. I really wish it could be as simple as punishing him, or sending him off to another ship, but command has spoken and it's not my call anymore. Military law doesn't directly cover what he did, so they have to punish him without a conviction." Esther said sternly, finding that the medic's outburst was discrediting her argument. While she could admire a person who was passionate about their causes, moderation made all the difference in getting a message across.

"The entire event was unfortunate, but it wasn't just Adrian's fault. Kagura repeatedly refused to have standard medical tests taken and procedures such as CC done, removing the possibility of her knowing of her own condition." She said, her words becoming increasingly terse and commanding. "I can't contest the decision. I'm really sorry, but you'll just have to live with having him as your immediate superior until the next time he does something."

"Calmcalmcalm..I am calm!" Saying that word just reminded Rose of what had happened. "Won't stop me from hope'n he gets sucked out an airlock, all due respect ma'am. No one made him push drugs on her instead of speaking with her right? Right. Wish I had his credentials..sorry ma'am, try'n to be cool about this but working under him when he doesn't give a shit about the Marines he's got under his command, even enough to stay with someone he shoots fulla' drugs long enough when he knows he doesn't gotta' complete file on her. That's medical negligence and is his fault. Hope you'll take'r easy on me if you hear anything." She stood quickly at attention, and held a salute. The fact her mouth was running had caught up with her and she didn't need any more hell she'd get, worse if Adrian found out she had filed a report.

An easy setup to take out whatever reprimand her CO was planning out on her. She was still red, but the shaking twitch in her finger was subsiding at least. Out out get outta town outta' here just shut your mouth and don't give her a reason to come down on you, moron!

"Just stop worrying about it for now and get some rest, Private Dream. You look a little flustered." Esther sighed, making a few notes about the medic's oddly erratic behavior. "Dismissed."

"Yes ma'am." Dream replied, swallowing. She promptly spun around and made her way out of the room, making a bee-line for the rack she'd stored her gear on. Kagura is gone? Shit..I don't know anyone else. Dream thought when her backside came down with a creak on the bedding. Now what? Grabbing her pillow, she hugged it against her body for something to cling to, soothing herself just a little from the tumultuous thoughts that raced through her mind.
