He likes to try to uphold rules of chivarly, as he sees them anway. He actually sees himself as better than others really, although this belief doesn't show itself often, deep down almost beyond conscouse thought, is the belief that his heritage marks him as superior. It's an ugly part of his mind, and one he tries to ignore as much as possible, but it is there. He also is actually deeply convinced that civilisation and humanity is rotten, from his own experainces with life.

Dislikes: Crudeness, breaching one of his rules of chivalry, misohagny.
Goals: To try and make a universe he sees as corupt a somewhat better place.
History
Ahearn was born to the de Cadman family, a once wealthy land owning family, which in the past had some political power, in Ahearn's mind that made it aristocratic. His mother died in childbirth, a rare occurrence due to horrendous birth complications, something which had quite an effect on him, but nothing compared to the effect it had on his brother and his father. His brother never forgave him for taking his mother from him, and they have never been close as a result. Alastrina's death had little effect on a personal level on his father, but it allowed him to change his lifestyle, he began to spend his money freely, and hanging out with, as Ahearn would put it "Women of loose virtue", and it was in this environment that Ahearn was raised. This resulted in his bitter outlook on life. However it also birthed his love of chivalry, and he threw himself into being a true aristocrat, loosing himself behind a complex facade he built up around chivalry and honour. He hung around the family home minimilising his contract with his family, until, after one particularly dreadful night with his father (of which he never speaks), he left. There was nothing for him there, he rationalised, since he would not even inherit the house, or the whatever wealth his father had not wasted. And so he left and wandered around for a while, before joining Nairan, in the hope that he could make some improvements to the corrupt world.
Skills:
Communications: Ahearn character is proficient with the use of starship communication systems, radios, and with multiple forms of Nairan communication code.
Leadership: Ahearn believes that an important part of his supposedly Aristocratic heritage is the ability to lead, and as such has studied the subject in some length, in a variety of different situations. He is well acquainted with military tactics (both ancient and modern), and has taken to specialising with guerrilla warfare since joining Nairan. He also is quite capable of keeping a level head in a crisis, and commanding subordinates. Diplomacy comes as second nature to him, due to his already cultured and chivalrous nature.
Fighting and Physical: Ahearn is a more than capable combatant, and has trained considerably in the art of fencing, in particular with the use of the sword cane that he carries with him on almost all occasions. As well as this he is proficient in a variety of firearms, and in the gentile art of 'fisticuffs' (What he'd call his capacity to handle himself in unarmed combat).
Humanities: Ahearn's bitter approach to humanity drove him to find out what made them tick, and so he studied philosophy for a bit, branching into other species out of general interest. The facade he hides behind anyway, this person he has created, this aristocrat who he wishes to be (In fact he has lost whoever he may have once been in the illusion of nobility), lends him to adopting other identities, which he can do easily, and has some gift for disguises.
Knowledge: Ahearn is deeply knowledgeable about the laws of Yamatai and other nations, but specialises in knowledge about chivalry and good old stories of the past, some of which he makes up. It pleases him to know of days gone by, the supposedly golden age.
Entertainment: It is one of the pleasures of Ahearn's life to tell stories, and in this regard he is gifted. He can spin a great story about the past, heroes, knights etc. His voice tends to have a rather enticing tone to it, urging you to believe in what he is saying. He doesn't tell stories very often however, only when he has the time.
