Okay, I'll start with my name and how I came to be...

I am James Papadapolus, and I discovered this site through Google, I am familiar with most forms of online roleplay, and I would like to join into this intricate tapestry of storytelling.

I have already made a character, (roughly) and I am hoping to Role Play here a lot (?) So, I am starting with a where do I begin sort of post...

My Character is Here, and hopefully I can get someone to look over it and tell me if he is okay to begin play.

Also I would like to request some information on how to actually join a thread...
 
Welcome to the Star Army RP! I'm Wes, the founder guy and manager of the Star Army of Yamatai.

For Open RP Forum threads, you can just pick one you like and basically jump right in. Note that it's courteous and helpful to read the plot page and to talk in the plot's OOC thread first. The Open RP forum is a manifestation of us wanting to get new people into the RP as fast as possible, with a minimum of frustration. It's fast and fun and a good way to meet other players and make RP threads.

The long-duration plots with their own subforums are intended to be much more planned and stable, so they require character approval by their GM in advance. All of the new long-term plots start their first thread in the Open RP forum, which is the best opportunity to join them at "ground level" as they're taking off.
 
No, I am not Greek, I have studied the mythology and cultures of the Grecian-Roman people, But I, myself am not of Grecian descent.

There's a faction of angel-like aliens called the Elysians that's part of the Yamatai Star Empire, who have a culture that's influenced by Greco-Roman ideas and language, which might be something you're interested in.
