Psychological Characteristics
Personality:
A smart ass who is actually right almost all the time. Very cynical and bitter and not very caring about others. Has some grudge that no one can figure out what it is. No one really knows his history because he never gets close to people. Very pessimistic and always thinks the bad thing will happen.
Likes: Women but doesn't get them very often. Good food.
Dislikes: People like himself. People who are smarter than him. Bad food.
Goals: To explore the galaxy and learn new things. To make money. To finally meet that one woman who understands him.
History
Was raised by devoutly religious family in middle class Nepleslian family. His parents were emotionally abusive always saying he wasn't good enough and that he was going to hell if he didn't change, he was constantly being beaten for minor infractions. He was home-schooled and brought up to be a "man of the cloth," but decided against it and left home for college, despite the protests of his parents. Went to school and became trained in medicine and took a side course in computer programming. His teachers were fascinated at the way he would get so interested in his classes, but block himself off from almost everyone else. Had some minor relationships in college but never got married.
Worked at a hospital in a major city on Neplesia for about 8 years as an ER surgeon after he got out of college. After a scandal at the hospital involving some of the management the whole hospital was shutdown and he was laid off. After that he could find no medical facilities that would hire him. One of his old co-workers had told him that the Star Army was recruiting for surgeons to serve on their new ships. So he decided to join up because there was no where else that would hire him and he needed a job very badly.
Skills
Medical and Science: Is highly skilled in medicine and knowing what different drugs from different cultures all over the galaxy do. His main proficiency is surgery. Worked in the ER at a hospital for many years in a very crime strewn city so he has practice with many different type of weapon wounds
Fighting: Is skilled with firearms and is very accurate. Knows many different weapons and the inner workings of them. Not good at one on one hand to hand combat at all. His father taught him how to shoot originally, for the day that the war of the end came which his father thought was coming very soon.
Culinary: Having grown up in a very religious home, his family never went out to eat. His parents said the restaurants were corrupt and would poison you with their worldly foods. So his mother had taught him how to cook. At the time it was not very extravagant meals but when he moved out he started to cook very fancy meals for himself in his apartment that he would eat by himself.
Technology Operation: Is very proficient with hacking and computer programming. He had never even used a computer until he got into college. His parents strictly forbid them. He learned all his skills in college and from practice. Is rumored that he can be hired to hack into computer systems and retrieve data. But there is no evidence for this because he hides his tracks very well.
Entertainment: He can play the guitar and piano. Both very beautifully, was a byproduct of his religious upbringings. His parents had him learn the instruments to play for hymns and other religious songs.
Domestic: Since he grew up in a very religious family they were always at home for the outside was "Corrupted" and would corrupt them if they conversed with people outside their religious sect. He had to stay at home and do allot of chores. He had quite a large family so he got very good at taking care of little children and cleaning.
Knowledge: The one thing he was allowed to do as a child that he enjoyed was read books. He read many many books on the galaxy and different facts. As he grew up he remembers almost everything anyone says. Which always pissed off his professors in college.
