Are There Alternate Occupations?

Has there been any more information posted on occupations other than those listed in the CCG?

I'm interested in occupations in either the Nepleslian Empire or the Yamataian Empire such as working for the YSA (Security Agency) or a Nepleslian police force (In an area where it actually exists, I guess). What other jobs are there other than with the Army that might be used in existing plot arcs?

The FCPD (Funky City Police Department), is a group of highly ruthless and brutal cops. I think. They have to be in order to tackle the inordinate amount of crime there is.

So feel free to join.

As for other jobs, there are none on the Confidence I can think of that need filling. I could be wrong. Other GM's can put down their case for having you here.

People who come up with original ideas are free to make characters based around a vision of theirs.

In the case of a Nepleslian character, I'd be more than happy to permit you to make a character for the FCPD. Right now, you'd be the first player to do so, as all the other mentioning of FCPD are restricted to GM-controlled NPCs.

There are very few Nepleslian players right now, so currently, I'm trying to form a solid player base within a specific area so we can get some ground action or whatnot going.

An FCPD officer caught in the middle would fit in just fine. You could also go with a General Infantry career in the Nepleslian Army.

Wes has control over all things Yamatai, so you'd need to talk to him about that.

This is a legitimate suggestion.

The site has 18+ RP's and 18+ plots. What if the Star Army were to employ a "Morals Officer" or sorts.

Think about it... Military Approved Concubine! Certainly no common street walker to be sure. This one is classy, intelligent, and you aren't paying her just for the *ahem* physical benefits. If you even need to pay for her time at all. Everyone gets lonely on ships, they are ships. surely there are eople in Yamatai who feel that VR isn't good enough. Maybe they want a connection with someone on board the ship for when they have no one else? Maybe they are socially awkward? Physically Awkward? Hard to get along with. These "Officers" would be trained to be a companion to those who have a hard time having a companion of their own.

Logistically? A Nightmare
PRacticaly? If you don't use VR to explain everything, a potential idea. The Star Army certainly is big enough.

Well, there actually was a sort of Caretaker occupation in the Star Army of Yamatai that may have covered this (it was a morale officer of sorts) but it was more of a maid/chef/geisha than a concubine.

It seems like a waste to give someone extensive military training and then put them to use as a prostitute, and I don't think it would go over very well in terms of public image.

Besides, historically speaking, there hasn't been much of a problem on Star Army ships in terms of sex being unavailable.

Equating a Concubine/Courtesan to a common prostitute is a huge insult to the industry. Escorts cost 2, 3 hundred and hour, where Courtesans cost thousands with a minimum booking They go on international business meetings and the like. I still think it would be a fun job.
