So how long was she at the academy? Did she graduate? If so, she would be an officer.
 
Oh I forgot to mention that. Yes, she did graduate at age 19!

Let's pause a second and talk about the age thing. Consider:
  • The minimum age in Yamataian years to join the Star Army of Yamatai is 21 (These are Yamataian calendar years so that's a little over 18 Earth years).
  • You have to join the military to go to the Academy
  • The Star Army Academy is a 4-year college
I think it would make sense to make her 25 (which is equivalent to about 21 and a half Earth years). I think that would make her birth date in YE 18.
