Bose-Einstein Condensate.

Do you see any practical miltary uses for Bose-Einstein condensate? I do.

A chip could be created that can guide condensates over its surface. It splits and recombines the atomic blobs in ways that can detect acceleration and rotation, more sensitively than laser-based technologies. It can be used to measure very small changes in the strength and direction of gravity. These wiggles in gravity reveal things you cannot see because they are to far underground(or water). It could be used to detect underground bunkers and tunnels; Maybe even to detect cloaked units.

"When the active camouflage of the 17S and 17T is in use, it will render the weapon invisible and undetectable."- Star Army archives.

Do you think it is possible, that these Stealth Nekos Could be detected using these means? Or is it possible to detect them in much more simple ways, such as Infared, or even something as simple as water, or a cloud of dust or mist?

Don't you think there would be too much intereference for effective use?

A stealthed Nekovalkyrja cannot be seen on infrared, but raindrops and a mist (such as throwing a bag of flour in the air) would certainly make their outline visible.

Well.. Yes. I started wondering about that after I posted. I think this device would only have practical use on a planet. In space there would be way to much interference, Unless.. If the device was stationary the way the current gravity(and interference) affected it would be considered the base/normal amount of gravity(such as on a planet), Then when something new was introduced, and therefore creating new gravitational waves, they would be detectable?

Hmm.. I think some actual testing would be needed to determin if more than one major source of gravity would be to much to disrupt the device. It is so sensitive, that prehaps(and most likely) it will create unreliable results.

Interesting.
Mind explaining the technology behind the 17S and 17T stealth device?

It's not a device. Their skin acts as thermoptic camouflage and as a holographic projector, allowing them to look they way the area would look when nothing is standing there.

Well, they do have muscles, flowing blood, and most of them breathe. But, they don't have to walk on the ground, so you won't necessarily hear footsteps.

hehe. I dont exacly mean footsteps. The sound of a beating heart is detectible by sensitive equipment, even in the 21st century. Also, because they breathe, wouldn't the minute heat givin off by their warm breath be detectable by Infared/thermal?

Edit: Also, I'm sure you know that nothing is 100% efficient, and that means that there will always be some sort of energy coming from the Stealth Nekos; And if energy is present, it is detectable by some means.

Well actually, the sound coming from the Nekos could be muted completely. Are you familiar with the process in which one sound always has a "counter-sound" so to speak, that is the exact opposite of one sound, and completely cancels its counter-sound out completely.
Using a device like this could make the 17S and 17T virtually invisible when it comes to detection by sound.

Feel free to point out any obvious errors that make my ideas impractical.

The difficulty of building a sensor usually depends on how sensitive it needs to be. In other words, the ratio between the background signal and the small variations in that signal that you want to detect. For example, any cheap microphone can pick up a person's voice, but put that person in a room with other loud noises, and you'll need more sophisticated equipment.

So I think the gravity detection thing would be even worse planet-side. I'm not saying it's not doable, but sonar is already pretty effective at underground/underwater detection.

As for the nekos, I think Wes designed the S series to evade enemy personnel, thus the optical and thermal camo. In specific scenarios, it would probably be easier to neutralize sophisticated sensors through other means.

Easy. All ou need to do to catch a Neko is have a constant cloud of flour in various area's. Just, always flour. All the time. The flour clings to the invisible Neko and makes them visible. Or have a wall reading "Wet Paint" and just wait for the Cat to become curious! "This this paint really wet?"

Mk1 Eyeball are great and all, but if you can avoid Sensor suits you can avoid people easily enough. In a setting where sensors are advanced as they are, I feel most guards would suffer from "Why am I doing this" syndrome, which is them wondering why they need to be awake and doing a pitifully boring job. Don't even need the Active Camo.
