11:50 PM one week after the kidnapping...

A holoscreen on a wall was displaying the local news.

"It has been identified that Greg Vanderson, a former Pack Wolf Mercenary was the kidnapper of Miss Carpenter. Sources say a group of freelancers assaulted a warehouse that Vanderson was held up in, and were successful for the safety of Miss Carpenter. Police Officials had this to day."

"Yes while it was indeed true that vigilantes did rescue Miss Carpenter, it was a Police Official that tipped them off."

"Sir! Sir! Can you give the name of who the tipper was?"

"I am unable to comment who the tipper was, but all I can say it was a Police Official, thank you for your time."

"In other news, first contact has been made with the Gartagans and have agreed to an alliance proposal..."

"Oh my! I hope she wasn't hurt!" Exclaimed a little kid wrapped up in a pink blanket, "I don't know what I would do if I was caught by such a big scary bully!"

In front of the girl was a round table in the middle of a bar called "Kiddy Bar", a bar for children to have the full Nepleslian experience. It was founded by Henry Resnick right after Kohana was given over to the Nepleslians. It was close to the main road on the west side of town, and it is basically a small themed restaurant for kids with the flavor of a bar to make them feel "grown up" with small round tables, cushioned booths, and even a table that was supposed to model the Nepleslian controlled space found on Star maps. The kids toy currently was chibi dolls of famous Star Army captains, and Luca Palvone.

Across from her was a Nepleslian woman in a brown overcoat wearing a black shirt, brown pants, and black military styled boots. She is a blonde with short hair, and her figure, C-sized bust, and attractive facial features is thanks to her Yamataian mother.

"You would save me from the mean bully though right?" asked the girl to the silent woman with her puppy like stare.

Sarah Keller's brows deepened in frustration for only a second as she managed to stay cool, "Of course I would," she said simply and sipped the soda via straw. Seriously why is the news on in a kids restaurant? Shouldn't it be cartoons or something?

"Really! Even if you weren't being paid by my..." the girl was going to say before a ring tone interrupted the girl's sentence.

"Yes?" answered right after snapping her phone out, "Ok, I see, well hurry up already!" She shouted while not really paying attention to all the stares and closed the connection before another call, "YES Wha..! Oh Henry, I see, good we could use help here since your other one seems to be late. Ok, bye." Now in a calmer mood, she looked over to the wrapped up child who was getting red with embarrassment, "It seems we may be leaving right away, you have everything?"

3 Hours Earlier...

"Hey Atverm buddy! I hope you had a good sleep because I told her you would meet her at the 'Kiddy Bar'! Good luck man!" Greg than hanged up suddenly.

2 Hours Earlier...

Dimitri received a text message...

Code:
So old friend decided to become a bounty hunter? Your secret is safe with me my friend until someone pays me enough that is haha!

To buisness, the woman Sarah Keller will be most likely at the Kiddy Bar today if your still going to help her out. Just give me a short reply and I'll call her and let her know your coming. Good luck my friend, your gonna need it with that woman lol.

Wandering the streets of New Kohana looking at his datajockey was a man who in other circumstances would be considered nondescript thanks to his facial features but his suit, fedora, boots, and to the untrained eye reasonably well concealed armor and weapons sorta made him a little more noticeable but not by much. 'Huh, wonder where this place even is?'
The man muttered to himself, 'never shoulda left nepleslia prime behind, at least there was stuff to do there not this ever present monotony.'

The second Atverm got the call from Gred he was in his armor and out the door at max speed. A quick check with the AI's web browser provided him the location of the 'Kiddy Bar' and the fastest route there.

To the people walking on the sidewalks Atverm looked like a giant humanoid dragster running down the road at highway speeds as he made his way to the restaurant. Upon arriving he spotted a blond woman wearing a brown overcoat and had black military style boots on. There was also a little girl with her which meant that this was the right place.

Walking over to her and being careful not to step on anyone he began speaking. "You must be Sarah Keller. I'm here about the escort mission."

The kid seemed to be big eyed in fear and awe while the bodyguard kept her cool, "You must be Atverm," she then knocked on the suit twice with the back of her knuckle without even looking at him, "fine tin can you have there. Come Sora, it's time we start going now."

"With the scary monster?" asked Sora still looking up at Atverm.

Keller stood up and picked the kid up into standing position, "Yes with the monster, and because the monster came right here, we will have to hope the bad men aren't heading right to this restaurant."

"I thought it was a bar?"

Ignoring Sora she stood about 4 feet away from Atverm and explained her plan, "We need to either head across the street or go through the Gold Love Casino. After that we have a stone throw at the starport, lets get moving, we will use you as cover tin man."

Dimitri was in his dark blue work-out shorts apparently vigorously training in his martial arts. He was kicking into the air repeatedly, in patterns, all the while moving forward. Once he finished the pattern, he'd stop and go back to his original starting point, and then repeat the process. It was at this time that his Data Jockey beeped and his own voice came out of the device.

'There's shit someone wrote for you in here. Read it.'

That always made him smirk. It was an inside joke he had with one of his buddies from the bounty hunter forums he visited every once in a while. The bounty hunter stopped his training for a bit and walked over to the table standing in the middle of the living room, then picked up the device.

"...hmmm... guess I better get down to it. Henry's backing me up, don't see why I should let him down."

After that it would only take him about 15 minutes to shower and change into his usual work clothes: the black tuxedo with the blue tie, and then put on his airbike gear and mount his newly bought airbike (which he had used the bounty money to buy) and raced out of the cargo area of his ship, riding down into the hangar and then out of it and towards the directions Henry gave him over the Data Jockey.

Atverm scratched the top of his helmet for a moment before speaking. "I vote we cross the street. I doubt I'll be allowed to walk through a casino in this thing." Not being allowed inside certain establishments was one of the downsides to having power armor.

"Just give me am moment to do something first." He said, giving a series of commands to the suits AI and five decoy drones came hovering out of his suits back pack module. A split second later the drones flashed into holographic images of various power armors that sported their own unique paint jobs.

He then pulled out his handheld guass rifle and set it to single fire mode while the drones position themselves around him. "Let's move out."

Keller nodded and grabbed the kid's arm, "Lets go, stay close to me," then turned to Atverm, "Right behind you." The two stayed behind Atverm as they left the restaurant and cross the street.

As the small party crossed halfway into the street, a silent bullet shot right into one of the holographic power armors. It came from the building to their right, and one could tell the sniper gave up on precision fire when bullets began flying from his position.

Sadly they would not be able to double back since a group of three gunmen had just reached the restaurant and were going to look inside for Keller and the kid. They heard the bullet spray and were about to turn and fire on them.

There was also a third group coming from the left, a group of three and one ID Sol that seemed like he was lugging an anti PA weapon.

Noticing the sniper go from controlled fire to uncontrolled spraying Raven took that as his cue. 'well, I must be in the right damned place now then ' he thought to himself as he stormed into the building that the fire was coming from. Racing up the stairs with his rifle at the ready Raven made sure to check every landing thoroughly until he reached the floor that the sniper shots came from. Storming in he found the sniper and with a short burst of fire to his head put the sniper out of his misery.

"Hm?"

Dimitri heard the sound of gunfire coming from farther ahead, and frowned. Damnit ,it's already started!? After turning the corner, he caught a glimpse of a woman and a child running for cover, along with a large figure that was next to them. Grimacing, body tensing up, the airbike would then accelerate and head towards a nearby group of armed men near the restaurant, airbike headed in a collision course with them.

At last minute, just as he was reaching them, he'd turn sideways and the airbike would drift. As this happened, Dimitri simply jumped off the bike, the helmet display going crazy with red blips and warnings of imminent crash. The small anti-grav plate inside his jacket would instantly light up and dampen the abrupt fall considerably, causing him to just land flat on his chest and abdomen as the bike continued to drift toward the crew after the girl.

Dimitri would turn the anti-grav plate off with the click of a switch inside the jacket, and then stood up.

He'd buy another airbike later if the airbike broke...

Damnit... what did I just do!? My guns are in the back of that bike!

One minute Atverm was quietly walking alongside Keller and the child, then a moment later all chaos broke loose.

When a sniper shot at one of the holograms, he immediately turned in the direction of the gunshot and began searching for the attacker. It wasn't hard to locate the source of the hail of bullets that were either zipping through the holograms or bouncing off his shields.

He was so glad he had bought the armor.

He was about to open fire and take him out when a man dressed in a fancy suit burst into the room he was in and blew him away. Never a dull moment.

He caught a brief glance of the armed men exiting the kiddy bar but an air bike whipped past them and made a beeline straight for them.

Since they were going to be distracted for the next few seconds Atverm turned to the third group, or more specifically, the ID-Sol with the anti-armor weapon. He quickly took aim and fired a few shots that were aimed at his torso.

The door crash warned the sniper of someone coming into the room and had intended to draw his sidearm before he was shot up. He stumbled backwards from the impact and hit the window's edge causing him to fall out of the building and onto the pavement belwow.

The bike managed to nail two of the three gunners, but the third gunner had dropped his weapon and was running away at that point. Dimitri would be pleased to note his bike had attained at least one headshot with a front wheel and the bike salvageable after the mission is over.

After the ID-Sol was shot down, the remaining gunmen fled the scene. None of them could lift the gun so they had very little choice when it came to fighting a PA.

Keller sighed in relief and called Raven, "Bout time you showed up, your late!" Looking around she quickly came up with a plan, "Meet us up two buildings west one building south, there should be an abandoned club that we all can hold up and plan." She gave a nod to Atverm assuming he was listening.

"Hey, Dimitri right? Thanks for saving our skin, I know a place nearby we can setup at if you still want to get payed," Keller yelled out and then held the kid's hand and headed off to the club, though slowly assuming Atverm at least was following and keeping an eye out for trouble.

"Sorry ma'am, I got a bit lost, this place is a maze of crap everywhere it seems, but I'll meet you over there shortly just as soon as I salvage what I can from this idiot sniper post" he replied as he looked around the room to see what the sniper had left behind especially taking care to find the sniper's rifle so that he could have something for taking longer ranged shots than his base assault rifle that had been one of the few things he could afford.

The bounty hunter ran towards the bike shortly after that last gunman was making a run for it, making sure it wasn't completely busted. It had been probably the best entrance he had made in quite a while, but he hoped it didn't risk his newly bought bike or his guns. "C'mon, baby, please be okay, please be okay!"

He turned the airbike on and it responded. "YES!" The bike's body was damaged, but that's something he could afford to fix later. "Lady Luck you're a tease!" Dimitri stood up and took off his biking helmet, turning his head to look at Keller and the kid she was with... not to mention the big guy that was with her. "...uh... yeah, sure, pleased to meet you. Henry must've talked to you about me, hopefully. So who's the armored guy here and the other guy you talked with?"

He didn't know there were to other guys with her. That wasn't in the description he was given... Atverm, of course, would recognize Dimitri from the other day.

Atverm quickly glanced around to assess the situation while keeping close to Keller. From what he could see, all threats in the area were either neutralized or fleeing. With the threat of attack over for the time being, he turned his attention to the newcomers which, according to Keller, were the other freelancers who were late for the job.

One of them was a man in a suit while the other.. "Hey I know you." Atverm spoke. "You're that guy I ran into back at the warehouse."

As soon as Dimitri finished inquiring, his answer struck him upside the head. At first he didn't recognize the voice, but there had only been one person he had met the other day that was so big. He looked up to Atverm wearing the powered armor, then back at Keller. "Ah crap... You hired the big guy, too? What is this, a freelancer reunion? Let's celebrate our lack of a real job together, why don't we..." The black, eye-length haired man crossed his arms and mumbled.

"I aughta strangle Henry for this..."

Keller just shook her head as she grabbed the kid's arm and headed to the club in a rush.

When they arrived at the club Keller quickly got on top of the situation, "Ok one guy get find a way to get lights on or a flashlight or something, the rest of us will check the windows and doors make sure they are shut and we can then plan out our escape."

The child meanwhile found a chair to sit on and drew imaginary circles on the table with her finger.

Raven reached into the packs that he was carrying and pulled 4 flashlights out and attached one to his rifle, and handed the other three to the two other hunters and one to Keller. "Here we go, hey you two take one. Here you go Ma'am" he said as he handed it to her.

Atverm nodded under his helmet and checking each of the windows to make sure they were properly shut. He also began looking around for any kind of furniture he could use to barricade the various potential entrances. It also wouldn't hurt if the enemy couldn't see what they were doing.

He also ordered the decoy drones to return to his armor as not to waste any power.

Dimitri followed after Keller and the group, but not before putting the airbike in an alleyway nearby and hiding it behind a large dumpster and a bunch of crates, and making sure to lock the carry crate for the bike with lock. He had taken out the sub-machinegun and the shotgun, along with the two Zen .45s he had, and whatever amount of ammunition he could carry.

When he came back, it seemed everyone had blocked everything well enough, except for the door which he supposed they had only not done it yet due to his absence. "Alright, sorry about the wait...! Dark as shit here." He put on his motorcycle helmet on, which had a flashlight on the right upper corner of the visor. It turned on, and he looked around to Keller.

"So, when do the fireworks start?" He figured the biking equipment would protect him from any stray shots whatnot, so he had kept it on. This was gonna be interesting.

"Here, hold this," Keller told the child as she drew a map on the table, "Ok This is where we are, the main road is the shortest path but they probably got a couple of snipers up by now. We could go building by building but that is going to take a while to get through. This back alley here is longer, but probably the less expected route. I'd say they brought about twenty to thirty guys with them, or more. Going to be a little tough to get to the starport."
