[Carthage/OzCorp] Spider Robot

Inactive Member
==== OC-F3000-BUG001 Spider====

*Designer – Razeal Kresh
*Producer: OzCorp/Carthage

*Dimensions:
*Height: 2.5 ft
*Length: 3 ft
*Width: 2 ft
*Arm Reach: 3.5 ft

*Composition: Durandium

====Description====
Conceived and built by Razeal Kresh as a helper robot around his apartment, and to help organize it, the Spider is designed to maintain and repair most any electronic device, as well as dishes and metallic objects via a molecular adhesion beam and compact welding torch.
The Spider can also recognize voice commands by its owner, and memorize the locations of everything in their household as easy at it can the make-up of a circuit board.
Powered by a compact and clean miniaturized fusion reactor, the spider has a shelf life of 50 yrs, and an operating life of 100 yrs. Control of the spiders legs and balance, such as being able to climb walls by use of microscopic synthetic hairs on its feet, are controlled by a simple gyroscope and various algorithms. Given proper supplies, the spider is also able to build more of it to meet the requirements of a task.
The spider uses many different technologies combined into a small package. One of these is Myloir, which is composed of several different alloys and its main property is the ability to contract when varying amounts of electricity are conducted through it. To keep each Myloir strand from exploding due to friction and heat, a viscous jelly-like "grease" is packed between the strands. Another component is its quantum computer system, which functions as a learning neural-net, and is also able to link up with other spiders in the unit's immediate vicinity.

*Appearance: Something similar to this

====Function 1====
*Maintenance and Repair: The Spider features a Swiss army array of tools stored on its body and adapted for accessibility and use by its 8 robotic arms. It can download schematics either wirelessly or via a data port located on its arms. The spiders AI brain can store massive amounts of data due to its Quantum storage drive. It's only technological limitations are its access to schematics.

====Function 2====
*Cargo Carrier: A spider can lift up to 25 pounds, with a group of 4 spiders able to lift 100 lbs by distributing the weight between them.

(OOC) I probably forgot some stuff, anyone?

Well they using something similar to "nano-fusion beams" in the Total Annihilation games, and it seems like a high tech welding torch to me.

Then say that.

Usually we use the term arc-welder.

Simply because something exists in a game doesn't mean that it will float here.

Adding nano to the front of anything does not make it cool despite how hard game makers try otherwise (nano-breaker anyone?).

In this case drop the 'nano-fusion beam' entirely. No one seems to be sure what it is exactly and you already have a wielding torch which seems to be the same thing from what I understand from your posts.

Micro-anything is a lot like nano-anything. I suggest dropping the micro and just saying miniature. micro-fusion implies some sort of new type of fusion where miniature fusion would simply be a really small fusion generator which should have no problem flying through approval.

Edit: Also please never use that as a 'precedent' again.

Edit again: Also you will probably need to give credit to wherever you got the picture before you can use it here.

Me? And what do you mean bruteforcing? O_o
This is a unit with non-military applications.
I thought that's what everyone wanted? o_o

Alright, putting everything else aside this is not detailed enough to be approved. Look at the Arachni drone for a simmilar construction.

What would you like to see detailed on this submission?

Also, I suggest adding something else to the spider picture to give a referance on just how big the thing is. It dosen't have to be really good, just a crappily drawn foot, but I belive it would help.
