Character Creator Program for Download

I am new here, but I have not noticed a (detailed) character creator program online or aviable for download.

I think it would be cool to have. Newbies like me would appreciate it. It wouldnt be hard to make. I dont know if anyone else is a programmer- but it can easily be done in C++ or for use with MS Access or even MS Excel (or of course the open source equivalent).

An online version could be made with Javascript or a Java applet.

Does anything like this exist yet? Does anyone think it would be a good idea?

I have written NPC creators in the past that can produce 1 or 100 characters after checking the approparite boxes (or not- and having it be all random).

The same could be done for ship construction.

As for a program, no, we don't have one yet. Making one would most certainly be a good idea, if you ask me.

I can program in Java and C, but I'll probably never find the time to write one. If someone wants to write one, though, I can probably help with debugging and design issues.

I would, but I don't have my computer science book with me.

Besides, a program for this would merely promote more stereotypes if not done expertly.

It would very much so help me... I'm like ... they want me to do all this!?
