This takes place during Mission 2 as a social interlude between charting some system.))

In the Med Bay

He put it away and nodded, being able to sympathize with her. "Well next time, we'll be sure that you get one." Akeno said. "It's comforting to know that they're ok though, besides you can always send them a volumetric communication." he pointed out.

"Oh my yes; although. I suspect my mother is teaching Rikun the meaning of the word, manners. She is...a bit of a wild child sadly." Yuriko sighed and tilted her head a little to the side. "But, having a mother who can make samurai step aside, and can down a bottle of industrial alcohol and be unphased has its advantages I suppose when it comes to tough love."

Akeno laughed. "My wife was like that too." He said and smiled fondly. "Natsume learned a lot from her and she's really helpful at keeping Takeo under control, he's my little wild child." He said. "And industrial alcohol...man I'd imagine she has one really efficient liver to process that stuff." He chuckled

"Well, she is a neko, and can process it fine," Yuriko smiled, "although, she is as blunt as a brick to the face to borrow a euphemism." She said sheepishly.

Akeno laughed openly at that. "And I know how that feels!" He said and shook his head. "I visited Funky city while the Species Restriction act was active and got caught up in some violence." he said. "She sounds like a wonderful person. Despite any outward appearance, she cares deeply about you and her grandchildren...I can sense it." Akeno said, his eyes distant for a moment.

"Oh my yes... she once told me a story about her sole trip to Funky City...suffices to say a bar was left in ruins, people were injured, and she ended up in jail, and had downed enough alcohol to probably kill an ID-SOL." Yuriko chuckled lightly as she got to her feet.

Akeno chuckled and just shook his head. "That definitely reminds me of someone I know." He said. "I hope she wasn't in too much trouble for it, the alcohol on Nepleslia is rather strong."

"Mmm... as it turned out those who had tried to flirt with her ended up in the hospital and decided not to press charges for fear she'd come after them again. And this time sober." Yuriko said.

"OH there was something I wanted to ask you Yuriko-Chui..." The doctor said. "When I came on I met a short little neko named Shii, but she seemed almost afraid of me. Is she naturally just very shy?" He asked. "I just don't want to give the wrong impression..." He listened to what she added. "Ouch."

"She can be...flighty" Yuriko said after a moment or two.

"I see. She was a cute little girl though, very innocent eyes." Akeno said. Saito was still outside the med bay doors dozing lightly on his feet, having been up for the last day or so without a rest.

"Yes, she can be. But...I must go now, things to do and all." Yuriko said with a soft sigh.

"Of course." Akeno nodded to her. "It was nice meeting you."

"And you too." Yuriko said before she exited the bay and looked over at the dozing Saito.

Saito's skin sight was active though and saw her coming out. "Hey." He said and yawned softly and turned to her a bit.

"Enjoy your nap?" Yuriko asked airily.

Saito chuckled a little and nodded to her. "I'm sorry Yuriko; I've just been up for so long I haven't had any sleep since about two days ago." He said and stretched out.

"Well if you wish, why not go and get some sleep?" Yuriko offered as she strode back towards the wardroom, intent on getting herself a few scoops of ice cream. “I am sure we will not be facing a full scale assault or Mishhu invaders anytime soon."

Saito laughed softly. "I think I'll just go ahead and do that." He said and floated tiredly next to her. "I'll be on the couch where I usually sleep." He smiled and started to head off toward the suite they shared.

"I had a fresh pillow and blanket set up for you." Yuriko called to him as she wandered down the corridor.

Saito chuckled a bit and smiled back at her. "Thanks." he said and continued off. He'd get back and be asleep almost the instant he laid on the couch.

Getting Cozy with Miya

Degan stopped by his room to change before entering the holo. Alas he made the mistake of sitting on the nice, soft bed and letting it wash over his body, leaving him tired and listless as he closed his eyes from the exertions of so many ST's

Meanwhile, in the wardroom….

Kessah nodded lightly, "Ah, I'm a techie. Well, pleasure to meet ya, mate. Hope to be about ya often and such. And I don't mean that in a lewd way." She then sat down, not right next to the neko, but still by, and took a glass and applied booze to it before drinking said booze filled glass, thus devolving it into a glass with some remains of booze.

"Don't take that as a sign of Kessah's modesty," Kerr spoke as he began to pour himself and Kessah a shot. "She's got a reputation 'round here. So, Miya, care for a drink?"

"Hai, hai!" Miya said with another smile, though a little more confident this time. "Ano... I'll certainly keep that in mind!" Miya blushed just a little bit as she bowed to Kerr. "I do like drinking," she said. "So, certainly!"

Kessah kicked Kerr lightly and took a short sip. "I'm small and weak. They're large and strong... I can't do much when people try to drag me off. Unless they're male, then I know where to attack." She gave Josef a warning glance.

Koharu yawned, she hadn't gotten much sleep with all the alerts and preparations they had to make. She walked into the wardroom, hoping to have a large mug of coffee to help keep herself flying for a few more hours.

Kerr jumped a little in his seat when Kessah kicked him. "Hey, I'm just going off of what 'Tenshi says." He poured Miya a shot and passed it over to her. "Drink as much as you want. It's customary for the new guys to get tipsy on their first ship." He saw Koharu enter the wardroom and waved at her. "Hey Shoi, care to join us?"

Kessah rolled her eyes a little, "'Tenshi tied me down to a bedpost more than once. And then left me. Over night while she slept and then a couple hours after... Be careful with her. She is a evil person... Sometimes."

"Anooo..." Miya said slowly, pausing as she accepted the shot. "I'll... Yeah, I'll keep that in mind!" Blushing a little, she took a sip of the shot, swirled it around in her mouth, then very slowly drained the rest. "This is really good..."

Koharu grinned seeing Kerr getting cozy with some of the other female crew members as she quietly walked past them to the galley window to get her coffee.

"I like this girl," Kerr said to Kessah as he pointed to Miya. "She's got good taste." He drank his shot down, each drink coming closer to erasing his terrible headache. "You ladies care for another?"

"Hai, please!" Miya said enthusiastically, offering out her glass.

Kessah waved a little over to Koharu's direction and downed her glass, tweaking a brow to Kerr before nodding.

The crimson eyed bridge officer offered Kessah a friendly, if tired smile as she waved back as she poured herself a nice large mug of coffee.

"Alright, coming up," Kerr responded as he refilled the three glasses. Seeing Kessah lift an eyebrow at him, he shot back a goofy look at her, widening one eye while squinting the other. He looked over at Miya, silly face gone, and asked, "So, Miya, tell us a little about yourself."

Kessah rolled her eyes again and gave him a gentle kick from under the table, sipping her glass. She did, however, look over to Miya with interest.

"Thank you," Miya said with a little bow, and paused midway through raising the glass to her lips. "Ano... I don't know there's really much to tell," she said slowly, setting the drink down. "I'm still fairly young. Eeh... I like being outdoors, I like target shooting... I like chemistry, naturally!" She paused again to take a sip of the brandy.

Koharu sat with her coffee at a table behind Kerr, Kess and Miya and watched them half curiously as she sipped her coffee. She needed to remember that the next time she chose to restart her career, that she should pick one with less responsibility than being a first officer.

"I see," Kerr spoke after Miya had finished speaking, toying with his full shot glass. "Just how old are you?"

"You make this sound like a dating thing..." Kessah smirked lightly toward Miya and took a sip of her booze.

"Fourteen months," Miya said with a little light laugh as she set the half-drained glass down again. "And, ano... I don't think I caught your name? I'm sorry..."

Yuriko entered the wardroom, hands behind her back as she made a bee-line for the kitchen without fear of flying veggies. The Chui entered the kitchen, spoke to Haru for a few moments and entered the walk in freezer.

"That's because I haven't told you yet," said Kerr. "It's Josef Kerr. You can call me Joe for short if you want." Kerr twisted around and looked back at Koharu. "Shoi, you can join us if you want. I feel kinda bad when you're just sitting there by yourself."

Kessah let out a kick in Josef's direction, giving no reason why as she finished off her glass and looked over to Koharu, "Yeah, don't be lonely and stuff."

"A pleasure, Joe," Miya said with yet another bow. She glanced over to look at Koharu, and smiled shyly and bowed to her as well before returning to her drink.

Koharu almost looked startled that Kerr had noticed her. She wondered idly if he had skin vision somehow. "I don't want to intrude on you guys when you want to relax when I'm still very much in a work frame of mind," she lightly tugged on the bottom of her right ear as she lightly blushed. "I'll be okay, really, Jo, Kess. Thank you though." Se smiled reassuringly at them both, feeling uneasy with their attention on her possible loneliness. She was inwardly grateful for it but still very uneasy.

Kerr winced as Kessah kicked him again. "Well, there's always an open seat should you change your mind." Kerr turned back toward the table and glared at Kessah. "Well, welcome to the Asamoya, Miya. It's always good to have a few extra females running around here."

Kessah kicked him again for good measure, looking all innocent like. "Alright, Koharu... Have fun doing whatever." She said after giving the 'woman' a quick glance before looking back to the other 'woman', Miya.

Miya was midway through another bow and soft "Thank you" when the last comment reached her. She paused again, with a little bit of a start. "I'll certainly keep that in mind as well!"

"Damnit!" Kerr finally exclaimed at Kessah. "You're gonna kick off my damn leg. No wonder 'Tenshi likes to punish you." He drank down his shot to cool his nerves and looked over at the two girls. "Anymore refills? And that's under the stipulation the kicking stops, Kessah."

"Hai, please!" Miya said moments after finishing her own shot, happily holding the empty glass over the table.

Kessah rolled her eyes a little and gave Kerr a kick... In the other leg. "Alrighty, no more kicking." Again, a kick. "Not that I am kicking, but I'll play your little mind game." And she kept a straight face, too.

Koharu grinned into her coffee before taking another long sip. She contemplated what she really wanted versus how she presented herself to her crew. Is it really time for me to change myself for the times? She wondered. I'm out of place because I'm putting myself out now. But I don't know if this is really what I want anymore.

Once again Kerr glared at Kessah as her felt her foot impact against his other leg. He poured a shot for himself and Miya while asking the new neko, "Hey Miya, want to hear some interesting stories about Kessah?"

Kessah rolled her eyes a little, "While you are vaguely familiar, all the 'interesting stories' you heard about me are on the Asamoya, Sakura, and Plumeria probably. So none of the good ones, just the boring tales in which you try to embarrass me by telling my sexual exploits with a few of the crewmates."

Miya opened her mouth as if to say something, glanced to Kessah, glanced back to Kerr, then smiled. "I think I'd like to," she said. "But I think if Kessah doesn't want them told, she'll express herself."

"And some rather funny ones they were..." Datenshi chided Kessah as the red head walked into the wardroom. With a small stretched she was dressed in the dress variant of the army uniform, showing off the tattoos on her legs that seemed to squirm somewhat as she walked.

"I already mentioned when you left me tied to a bed post." Kessah spoke lightly over to Datenshi.

Yuriko exited the freezer triumphantly. She then proceeded to get a bowl, ice cream scoop, spoon and a napkin. The Chui scooped out some of the strawberry ice cream for herself before replacing it back in the freezer and proceeded out of the kitchen humming to herself idly as she walked past her crew and headed to the observation deck and her favorite chair right at the back, and near one of the blue rose bushes she herself had planted for the sprite Fuyu.

"You said you didn't mind and I was hungry! See I brought you back food." Datenshi said in reply.

Kerr sighed a little and grumbled, "I guess I can't win here. That's alright, Kessah. I've got plenty of time to plot my revenge." He waved at Datenshi. "Hey 'Tenshi. Come join us and chat with the new girl here, Miya."

"I was asleep! I said nothing! I had to wiggle myself out of the rope because, lucky me, you can't tie a knot worth a damn!" Kessah retorted promptly. She then gave Kerr another kick; it was closer to the jewels, too.

"Ohhhh new girl? Hey there!" Datenshi waved to the newbie as she sauntered over; already turning on her charm subconsciously as she let her hips sway a little. With a smirk, Datenshi shrugged to Kessah. "I shook you a few times..."

"Probably fondled me," came a short mummer from Kessah.

Miya bowed hastily, taking a quick moment to glance up and down Datenshi's body as she slinked over. "Hai, hello!" she said with a smile as she rose. "Santo Hei Tanashiro Miya, chemical analyst. A pleasure to meet you."

Kerr groaned a little as Kessah's foot got a little to close to a part of his body he was quite protective of. With that, he pulled his legs together to prevent Kessah from getting another shot like that.

Kessah lightly tapped the her shot glass with her nail, glancing toward Kerr warningly and giving him another kick.

"Ohhhh, a science chick! Cool." Datenshi smirked a little and laughed some. Looking the girl over, she took a more appraising look in as she nodded a little in satisfaction.

Koharu continued to drink her coffee, enjoying hearing the odd banter between her crew members. She almost wished she wasn't on duty so she could join them for a drink.

Kerr eyed Kessah for a moment and then he filled her shot glass up. "Happy now?"

Miya flushed a little and straightened her posture up a bit as she was scrutinized, then smiled and turned back to her drink. "This is really excellent, Joe," she said, taking another long sip. "Though..." and she glanced around, "I am still just a touch curious..."

Kessah smirked lightly, downed the glass quickly, and then set it down by 'Tenshi after giving the 'woman' a shrug. For good measure, she gave Kerr another kick, but stayed quiet.

Shaking his head at Kessah, Kerr filled he glass back up and turned his attention toward Miya. "What are you curious about, Miya?"

Miya nodded just a little bit towards Kessah and 'Tenshi. "The stories you mentioned," she said with a little flush. "Assuming you're going to keep your legs, that is."

"You'll have similar stories the way 'Tenshi here is eyeing you." Kessah smirked playfully, glancing up to her friend and nudging the redheaded neko with her elbow.

"I will make certain we do not explode, or anything similar. Have fun!" Aoiko called through the airlock as the two departed. Surrounded by a halo of volumetric displays, she wandered back to the bridge.

"Ah, for that, my legs will tough it out," Kerr spoke with a grin. "Hey 'Tenshi, why don't you tell Miya all about you and Kessah?"

A small volumeric window popped up in front of Koharu and she smiled softly with a soft chuckle. She watched the video message with her right arm propping her head up from the table, with her right cheek resting comfortably in the palm of her right hand.

Datenshi shrugged a little to Kessah, before giving Miya a wink. "If she wants them I'll be more then happy to give the girl some rather fond memories...”

Miya didn't quite respond besides going rather red - she chose that moment to slowly drain her glass again, taking her time to savor the taste.

Kessah chuckled lightly, "Don't be shy... 'Tenshi will pin you down to the floor sooner or later anyway." She grinned in a way that made it so it wasn't really easy to say if she was lying or not. Hm.

Tenshi laughed a little seeing the girl redden, before she snuggled up beside her. Pressing her hip into Miya's now, Datenshi leaned in and whispered into her ear. "Don't worry hun, I'll be gentle the first few times..." She said in a rather sultry voice, like velvet rubbed just the right way. She let out a throaty purr into Miya's ear before licking the bottom of it playfully.

The bridge officer giggled a little louder and covered her mouth with her left hand, blushing lightly despite the fact no one was actually paying attention to her.

Miya went significantly more red as she set her glass down on the table. "I'll certainly keep that in mind," she said throatily as she was licked, shivering from head to toe though making no real efforts to move away.

"Ohhh I think she likes it!" Datenshi exclaimed before she zeroed in on the ear lobe, licking and nibbling on the body part while still purring.

Kessah snickered a little as she watched the two go at it, shaking her head lightly. On the positive side, though, she forgot about her homesickness.

Miya shivered again, squeezing her legs together and hunching forward a little as her ears twitched under Datenshi's tongue. "I... Ah... Ano... You're quite forward, aren't you?" She stuttered, smiling a little and continuing to not try to get away.

"Mmmm I've been told so before..." Datenshi confessed as she licked at the earlobe again before stopping

Kessah simply shook her head a little, "Damnit 'Tenshi, it half looks like you are about to pin her to the table right here and now."

Miya slowly glanced up as the licking ceased, her face flushed quite red now. She glanced, embarrassed, between Kessah and Tenshi before quietly refilling her drink.

Datenshi was all grins as she sat back, idly wondering just how worked up the poor new girl was. "If your ever in need of release and I'm awake, my door is open Kay?" Datenshi sent to Miya with a small wink.

Kessah smirked a little when Datenshi winked, getting a idea in her mind that something was said between the two. Oh well. "So, 'Tenshi, molestation aside... How are ya?"

"I'm doing ok...the little off time helped out. I needed to just relax for a bit really," Datenshi shrugged lightly.

"I will certainly keep that in mind!" Miya thought back as she finished pouring her drink. "May I give some to either of you?" she asked cheerily.

Kessah nodded a little, "Good. And nah, I'm good. Thanks though... Uh... Miya fine?"

"Of course hun, but not in front of Koharu-chan, It would be rude not to invite her in. Sides I never pegged you for the exhibitionist type..." Datenshi poked fun at Miya playful at her ambiguous wording.

"Hai!" Miya said with a little smile and nod before starting a bit and choking as she heard Datenshi. "I can't say that I've ever had the chance to try it," she said as she offered her an apologetic smile.

Kessah just kind of tweaked a brow at the conversation's turn, and said nothing. Wonder if MEGAMI and company are watching...

Aki strolled by Kessah and sneezed before she picked up the tray Shii had for her and walked over to Yuriko, Midori and Reiko setting it down and moving off again. On the tray were assorted snacks, and a few different varieties of drinks.

Kessah jumped a little when Aki sneezed, not having heard the sprite. ... Neko sneeze? Huh... The more you know/ She shrugged lightly to herself.

Chasing a fox into her den

Seeing 'Tenshi and Kessah focus their attention on the new girl, Kerr quietly stood from his seat and left the table. He wandered over toward Koharu's table and took a seat next to her. "So, what are you giggling about, Shoi?"

Koharu's blushed deepened and she sat up a little straighter when she heard Kerr's voice suddenly very close to hers. "Oh.. umm.. my... little sister sent me this goofy home video from Kyoto," she replied quite shyly.

"I see. You know, I don't think I've ever seen you like this before," stated Kerr. "It's kinda nice once and a while. Kinda hard to rely on people who're serious all the time."

Koharu tilted her head to one side looking up at Kerr with wide shy eyes, still blushing. "I try to let my work define who I am. It's really all.. I have of my own right now."

Kerr quirked his brow at the Shoi and stated with a somewhat smug smile, "Bullshit. You define your work and if it was all you had, you wouldn't be so happy about a video your sister sent you. Though, this secret is safe with me so don't worry about word getting out."

"Thank you. I'd hate for people to think I have more than one emotion," Koharu replied, poking fun at herself. "So," she said quietly, "I suppose I must've distracted you from your new mark if you came over to visit with me while she's still sober."

"Who's to say I can't have more than one mark?" Kerr spoke with a shrug. Tapping an index finger to his chin, he added, "And, as I remember, I believe you were my mark first."

'Well, you know what they say about chasing more than one rabbit, Josef. And we both know that I'm a little bit harder to catch," Koharu replied with a soft smirk as she sipped her coffee. "But more possible for you to catch than others once you chase me long enough."

"That would be true if I were hunting rabbits," Kerr retorted slyly. "I think we both know you're far more crafty and complex than a mere rabbit. No, you're a fox."

"I'll accept that. You'll track me back into my den one of these days and maybe I'll even be there," Koharu grinned as she leaned forward, looking up at Kerr.

Kerr leaned a little closer as well. "When I trap you in your den, maybe you'll share a little of that scotch that the Chui gave you too." He drew closer and closer, trying to steal a kiss from the Executive Officer.

Koharu grinned and let Kerr steal a kiss. "Perhaps, I'll even let you do a body shot," she replied quietly.

"A body shot, huh?" Kerr said to Koharu with a pleased grin. "I'll hold you to that, ya know?"

"Try not to overindulge. Still on duty after all." Aki pointed out to them both as she glided by with the tray she'd brought for Yuriko, Midori and Reiko earlier and disappeared into the kitchen.

"I think that was the idea, Josef," Koharu replied smoothly with a grin. "Of course not Aki, I'm completely sober and read for anything."

Kerr watched the sprite disappear into the kitchen, somewhat irritated from the interruption. He looked back at Koharu and asked, "You sure you don't wanna go somewhere a little more secluded? Don't want your secret getting out prematurely."

Koharu watched Kerr's face with an amused look. "I'd think it'd be bad for business if the girls saw you walk off with me while your in such a state." She pulled away with a wink. "I'll have to show you pictures of her sometime."

"Such a state?" Kerr replied, a puzzled look on his face. "Show me pictures of your sister? Sure, I wouldn't mind seeing them whenever you feel like it."

"Well, you are a bit drunk unless there's something more.. Pressing about your condition," Koharu replied with a grin as she stood up. "But I have some of her in my quarters. I can get them or you can follow me, whichever you’d like."

"Drunk?" Kerr scoffed at the notion. "I'm just self-medicated." He stood up from the table, pleased with himself and the turn of events. "I'll go ahead and follow you to your place."

Koharu smiled as she walked at a fairly quick pace, she stepped off on her right foot and led Kerr down the corridor to her quarters. "I'd say that my place might be a bit messy, but I haven't spent much time in there lately."

Kerr followed behind Koharu diligently, not allowing the Shoi to get too far ahead of him. "I doubt it could be that bad," he assured the brown-haired neko. He was already plotting on how to make her quarters messier before he left.

Koharu was inwardly conflicted at what it was that she was actually playing at. It was obvious to her that she was about to get caught in her den after a short chase. Was she really the fox or the rabbit? She pondered these things as they walked down the corridor. "You're probably right."

"So, what's you sister like?" Kerr inquired, somewhat intrigued about Koharu's family. At the very least, he could gain some insight on how her mind worked.

"She's very... compassionate and warm. She has a very good, gentle heart. She was never meant for service so she's working as a counselor at the shrine in Kyoto," Koharu slowly spoke, picking the words to describe Michiko very carefully. She was quite fond of the girl, though their relationship was indeed quite strange.

From Koharu's description, Kerr couldn't really say that the girl interested him that much after all. "You sound close," he spoke.

"A bit, I tried to spend as much time as I could with her. Oh we're here," Koharu paused for a moment as the door to her quarters opened to reveal a large very sparsely furnished room. It had a very neatly made bed with dark blue covers predominantly featured in the center with a teddy bear in the middle of the pillows. There was a rubber duck and a couple of picture frames sitting on a nightstand that was secured to the deck beside it.

Kerr had to cover his mouth with the palm of his hand in order to keep himself from laughing. Honestly, he had not expected to see a teddy bear lying on a bed that belonged to such an apparently strong and confident officer. The rubber ducky on her nightstand didn't help either. After restoring his composure, he said, "I thought you said it would be messy in here. It's pretty tidy, if not a little empty."

Koharu blushed lightly as she walked over to her bed and sat down on the side, gently lifting one of the frames from the nightstand. "I don't have very much that is my own and... I haven't spent too much time in here to make it more... like.. home, I guess. The few personal effects I have right now were gifts."

Kerr sat down on the bed right next to her, deliberately close. He eyed the picture curiously and asked, "Is your sister in there?"

Koharu offered the frame to Kerr. There were three faces in the frame: Michiko, Yui's and Koharu's. Michiko looked identical to Koharu except for two brilliant blue eyes and much longer dark brown hair. Michiko was smiling brightly at the person holding the camera while Koharu looked slightly embarrassed. The crimson eyes officer pointed to the blue-eyed girl. "That's my 'sister', Michiko."

"I can see the resemblance," Kerr chuckled. "It seems like you have some of her personality too." The third neko in the picture seemed familiar to him. "Who is she?" he asked while pointing at Yui.

"Ketsurui Yui. She raised Michiko but... I haven't spent enough time with her to classify her as my mother but we were fairly close at one point," Koharu's smile softened. "Oh... probably. I see lot of myself in Michi at times."

Kerr suppressed a grimace at the mention of the Ketsurui name. Old prejudices were hard to lose. "Ya know, the more I learn about you, the kinder and gentler you seem. Looking back, it's hard to see you as a soldier," he admitted to her.

"War changes things as it wears on. Being the first of a clan and seeing everything change around you makes you long for other things besides blood on your hands," Koharu commented softly with a cough as she set the frame back on her nightstand. "But, I'm not a pacifist. I would gladly kill anyone or anything that threatens my family or my crew." She lightly tugged on the bottom of her right ear with a sigh.

"That's admirable," responded Kerr as he took one of her hands into his, "but I don't think that's something you wanna talk about so let's forget about war, killing and that other shit for now." He leaned in closer toward her and attempted to join his lips with hers.

Koharu's cheeks flushed as she let herself fall into the trap for a moment and kissed Kerr. Is this really what I want to do? What am I doing here anyway? she thought confusingly to herself. There shouldn't have been much question in her mind when there was a warm and willing body in front of her but yet, here there was.

Finding no resistance to his advances, Kerr grew bolder. His kiss became more passionate and he put the weight of his body against Koharu's, aiming to push her back onto the bed.

Koharu resisted the push and pulled back away from Kerr in a fluid motion that had her standing beside the bed instead of sitting on it. "Wait Jo, I think, I'll need some more time before we end this chase."

Kerr had to put a hand onto the bed in order to catch himself from falling face first onto it after Koharu had evaded him. Getting back into a sitting position, Kerr looked up into the Shoi's face, clearly frustrated. "Really? Things were going pretty good on my end but if you wanna wait, I guess I'll have to be a little more patient."

Koharu's blush deepened. She was feeling conflicted. Really, what was really stopping her from just taking Josef now? "I'm sorry. This is awkward for me. I'd better go catch a shower before the next shift starts," she said quickly as she made a hasty retreat towards the door to her quarters. What the hell am I doing?

I must be losing my touch, Kerr pondered irately. She ran out of here like I was infected with something. He lingered on the bed for a moment, looking at the rubber ducky on the nightstand. Picking it up, he gave it a quick squeeze before setting it back down. Well, I don't have to leave empty handed. I could always sneak out with that scotch as a souvenir. Nah, that'd probably ruin any shot I have with the Shoi. With that, he got up from the bed and left Koharu's room to go and find an outlet for his frustrations.

Koharu stood in the showers with her head against the wall inside the changing area. I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have led him on like that when I'm not ready for it.. "Fuck," she said quietly to herself.

Kerr was about to head back to his room when he remembered that Koharu said she was going to take a shower. Not wanting to let things end on a sour note, Kerr made his way to the showers. He spotted the brown-haired neko with her head against the wall of the changing room almost immediately. He grabbed her by the shoulder and spun her around. Without giving her a chance to protest, he kissed her deeply, putting her back to the wall so she couldn't get away again. After a moment, he released her again, he said with a mischievous grin, "When you're ready, I'm gonna catch ya so try not to feel lonely until then, okay?"

Koharu was incredibly startled by Josef's sudden appearance and the warmth of the kiss. "O...okay," she blushed a light shade of pink and inwardly cursed her lack of attention to her surroundings. Being on a starship had indeed softened her responses. "I'll be fine; don't worry about me being lonely. I have things to keep me company."

"Well, I said that because I'm still hunting you and I'd be disappointed if you let your guard down early 'cause you got lonely. There's no thrill in that." Kerr then backed away and added, "Until then, I'd better stop pestering you, Shoi, before you have me locked up."

Koharu laughed despite herself. "Thank you, I'm just glad you didn’t catch me in the showers."

"You shouldn't give me ideas," Kerr told her. "I might not be able to restrain myself in a situation like that and I don't look forward to your foot hitting me below the belt."

"Hmm.. I shouldn't. I'd hate to kill you before we can have our first date," the crimson eyed neko replied with a wink in a teasing tone of voice. "Last thing I need is for you to think I'm really just cute and cuddly beneath a cold, cynical front."

"Yeah, the teddy bear on your bed is clearly your punching bag," Kerr retorted with a grin. "Well, I'll leave you to shower. See ya later, Shoi." With that, Kerr left the showers, his pride a great deal less wounded.

Koharu watched him go. She really had a good explanation for all of her odd behavior but really, it was just that she wasn't ready. Josef didn't need to know about her issues from her POW time.. that was indeed another life.

Midori has a sense of humor!

On the Observation Deck…

Fuyu was in the observation deck, squatted down over one of the bushes to tend to a small patch of weeds that had grown.

"Getting your hands dirty?" Yuriko asked from her seat as she raised the blast shutters of the observation deck, and letting in the faint starlight of space.

Fuyu simply nodded. "The plants were getting to weedy, so I decided to fix some of them..." A message came to Yuriko just then, from Midori. The captain was asking to come aboard. A small video message came along with the call. "It is somewhat boring over here..."

Yuriko quietly granted Midori permission to board before placing a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. "With the younglings, my business being built from the ground up, being in command of a group and my own ship my time has been so limited I've had little to attend the plants sadly."

Midori quickly went about docking the Amaya with the Asamoya and after a few moments was floating down the hallway to the observation deck where Yuriko had been pinged at after Midori's silent query. She was sure that Reiko would follow after though not to sure about Aoiko.

"How can you be bored on your own ship when just a few hours ago you were as giddy as a child?" Reiko asked idly as she moved deftly behind Midori.

"Please do? I would rather not lose my ship while docked..." Midori replied in a soft joking tone as she entered the observation deck. "It is because you are so boring Reiko, you just drain all the energy out of everything!" She said in just as playful a tone as she nudged her lover before bowing to Yuriko. "Greetings Yuriko."

Reiko just huffed. Yuriko looked over her shoulder, the bowl of half eaten ice cream in her one hand and the spoon in her mouth as she looked up and blinked. The Chui took the spoon out and looked at Midori. "Welcome Aboard Midori."

"Glad to see you learned to swallow before you speak." Midori said playfully yet again as she bowed.

"Ano..."Yuriko tilted her head to the side, blinked again and stared at Midori. “Was that a joke? From you Midori...I thought I'd see a Mishhu tap dance before that happened." She replied with a soft smile.

"Mmm I am just as capable as any neko of making a joke." Midori nodded slightly, her chest wiggling a little. It seemed a little bigger as well, the girl having forgone putting on her wrap that morning.

Yuriko turned back around to her ice cream and put another spoonful in her mouth. "Enjoying your new found freedom huh?" She asked after a few moments. Reiko snorted. "You do not know the half of it." She rolled her eyes a little and seated herself nearby the two.

"And just what does that mean?" Midori questioned her lover as she strolled around the observation deck to look at the plants. Fuyu seemed shy of the samurai, constantly staying out of view.

"You're not your old stone faced emotionless self. It is...somewhat refreshing to see if not slightly startling at first." Reiko replied in return as she eyed the sprite a moment out of mild curiosity before returning her gaze to Midori. Yuriko however remained silent in the exchange contenting herself with the ice cream.

"I have been unexpressive and dead to my emotions for far too long. I suppose it is a welcome change to let them roam." Midori replied.

"Well, let them roam away." Reiko said and waved her hand at Midori before settling herself on the couch. Yuriko chuckled a little at the two.

"I plan too because I get to be a little more affectionate with you then..." Midori replied just as easily as she stalked over to Reiko, crawling up the couch to straddle over the smaller girl. Grinning as she looked down at her, Midori leaned in and planted a surprisingly passionate kiss on Reiko's lips.

Reiko was indeed surprised at the display of affection as her little arms flailed out in startlement a moment before she returned it, a fierce blush on her face. Yuriko however nibbled at a piece of fruit on the tray and took a small glass of tea sighing a little. She had wished Misato could've been here, the two hadn't seen a lot of each other lately with their mounting responsibilities so they corresponded via messages and communications.

"See?" Midori said as she broke the kiss, silently enjoying the kiss more then she let on before standing again to tour the garden.

Reiko just sat there silently clutching at her uniform and staring at her feet, the blush still in place. Yuriko just shook her head. "So, do you two plan on having any younglings of your own?" She asked all of a sudden as she checked the sensor data from MEGAMI and sipped at her tea as she looked at the volumetric display.

"I would be more then willing of course; it is up to Reiko if she wishes to have any." Midori replied, looking over her shoulder to her lover.

"I already told you yes, but I'd rather not be the one carrying them." Reiko huffed and folded her arms. "Would you like me to have mood swings?"

"You want me with mood swings?" Midori asked, tilting her head a little. "Remember, I still haven't showed you your new training..."

Reiko gave her a flat look. "Oh so you want me to carry the younglings?" She asked.

Midori simply shrugged before turning to look at Reiko fully. "If you want younglings, I will carry them dear."

"It would be better you then me since I am the ship's samurai and power armor wing leader." Reiko surmised but nodded.

And I'm alone now...

Kessah sighed softly as she slumped forward against the table in the wardroom. Kerr ran off and about, as did the new-newbie, leaving her alone at the table. She knew her higher up mate was off with Midori and Reiko, but the latter made wandering over there unpleasant. So she sat about, bored. Bugger.

Reiko managed to inch her way away from Midori's grasp and into the wardroom, leaving her lover there to enjoy the view the Asamoya had to offer. The samurai sighed, the blush from earlier subsiding for the most part.

Fuck you, Karma. Fuck you in the ass, you ungrateful hypothetical force. Kessah thought to herself as she looked over to Reiko.

Dec. 30, 2007 Log

ON:YSS Asamoya

With the small group of ships continuing onward, sensor data was collected on the various natural phenomena of the region, rogue comets, asteroids, planetoids and many other points of interest. There was even a star or two along the way, although one only had a small asteroid field, the other just a lonely white dwarf star hanging alone in the vast darkness of space. Yuriko had excused herself from the Observation deck, and had headed back to the bridge, leaving her crew to enjoy themselves while she went over their course, and the new data.

Nana stepped out of her room, tugging her gloves and goggles off and tossing them over her shoulder to land on the bed before she began to stalk quietly down the hall. After a constant routine of 'fix, sleep, eat (sometimes)', she needed to break away for a bit. Rolling her shoulders, she stared down the hall, realizing she had absolutely no idea what she was going to do. "..... Damn." And so came the point where the pink-and-blue haired technician would rock absently on her heels, looking all but stupefied.

Speaking of stars, where the hell was Sumaru? Well if we'd follow the sounds of his girly singing voice through the halls and down into the armor bay there he would be found, lyrics from something pop emitting from his lightly glossed lips as he polished his power armor happily. It was just about done; Wish looked dazzling, for a sleek killing machine. The neon pink panels almost popping right out from the dark standard background of the machine's factory blue.

Nana looked down towards the ground, taking in a deep breath. If anyone seemed to be suffering from wear-and-tear, it was her. She'd overworked herself, probably to the point of exhaustion. "Comp--er.. MEGAMI.." Quietly correcting herself, she dropped her hands to her sides, gnawing absently at her bottom lip, "Where is everybody...?"

Yuriko brought up a volumetric display of their current position; eyeing it and nodding slightly. The Chui relayed her plans to the rest of the ships in her group and they followed suit, still in their protective bubble about the Asamoya. "The majority of the crew are in the wardroom, Sumaru is in the power armor bay, the Chui is currently on the bridge, Cherry is in her room, and Saito is in the Chui's quarters resting." MEGAMI replied.

Akeno shifted a bit and yawned, leaning back in the seat behind his desk in the med bay. "I haven't seen anyone else today since Yuriko-chui and the others came in. I wonder what's going on..." He muttered and held out his hand looking at the scar on the back of it.

"..This is depressing." Nana softly murmured under her breath as she straightened up, "Thank you." She was beginning to feel as though she was alienating herself from the rest of the crew, in favor of things that hummed and whirred. Becoming detached was not on her to-do list, but it seemed a thing that she just couldn't avoid. So, she began a trek down the hallway, a hand pressed against her midsection.

Reiko gave Kessah a side long glance, sniffed and glided away towards her own table. A moment later Haru came out and the two began to talk before the sprite went into the kitchen. Yuriko sighed and tapped her chin a moment before opening a com channel to Nana. "Nana-chan could you please come to the bridge, I require your assistance."

Kessah watched Reiko a little in the corner of her eyes after setting her head down on the table, bored. What to do...

Haru soon returned with a steaming mug of tea that smelled faintly of spearmint, and a slice of what appeared to be cheesecake. Reiko thanked the sprite before she picked up the small fork and sliced of a tiny section and ate it.

In a short bit, over the computer a request would come for Haru from Akeno in the medical bay; a simple request for a cup of green tea with bit of honey and mint in it.

Sumaru finished up shining his armor, and stepped back to admire his work. With a final approving nod the young Yamataian turned to leave and headed out to the halls en route to the wardroom for a meal, noticing now just how hungry he was.

Kessah glanced over to Reiko fully again and tsked. Bleh... I hate cheesecake. Oh well, to each its own.

Nana straightened up a bit, one ear flicking. She was almost struck with paranoia until she realized it was Yuriko, "Yes'm. On my way." And so, she was, heading off towards the auxiliary ship so that she might meet with Yuriko on the bridge. Hands behind her back, she looked a bit worn out, safe to say, a fair deal less SPRING in her step.

Yuriko would be standing in front of a horde of volumetric displays, and one of the consoles in front of her. The Chui had elected to remain standing as a massive volumetric window hung right in the forward section of the bridge. On it was a large nebula of purple and gold swirling and intermixed, glowing with a faint luminescence. The Chui seemed fixated on it at the moment.

Haru soon arrived in the med bay carrying a small tray in her hands. "Someone order tea?"

Akeno turned to her from the desk and nodded. "Oh yes, thank you." He said, slowly rising from his seat to accept it from her. "It's just been a little slow in here today, thanks for bringing it."

Nana's approach came slow, footsteps all but silent as she reached the bridge, "..Chui?" Her words were mumbled, so as not to distract Yuriko, her head cocked to one side in a puzzled manner. Exhaustion or otherwise, she, much like an obedient dog, responded promptly to commands and requests.

"Not a problem. Just ask Aki to pickup the tray after you're through." Haru said giving a short bow before leaving.

The doc perked a brow and nodded, watching her go for a moment before sighing and retiring back into the chair to try it out. "Mmm that's good..." he said and glanced around. "Though...I wonder where Saya is, I haven't seen her all day." he mused as he did.

Yuriko looked over her shoulder and smiled at Nana. "Please, please," The Chui said and waved at Nana to come over to her side. "Beautiful isn't it?" She asked, turning back to the display if or when Nana would come forward was her own choice. The nebula was huge, nearly twenty light years in diameter. The inner portions glowed brighter then the outer areas. The two colors melded and meshed well like a work of art all in a neat package of a nebula with the added bonus that the colors only seemed to be enhanced with the luminescence.

Kessah drummed her fingers along the table, finally having enough boredom. She promptly stood, stretching her arms in a upward fashion. She shot a glance over to Reiko, "Cya and such."

Reiko didn't reply, or do much of anything really in response. She merely sipped at her tea.

The armor pilot turned into the ward room, still humming the music he had been singing earlier. He was in his standard issue white ringer tee-shirt, fitted tightly over his surprisingly well toned lithe upper body that went down into a very girlish waist and uniform light blue-gray pants that were two sizes too big so they could be a tad more baggy for more comfortable wear whilst he was roaming the ship on off time.

Slowly, almost hesitantly, Nana stepped up to Yuriko's side, turning to look at the display after a moment or so of puzzled staring. Her eyes narrowed in a brief squint, the pink-haired techie looking momentarily dumbfounded, "Well.. Yes. I mean, it's really pretty." What was she supposed to do? To say? 'Ooh and ahh'? She was quick to fall silent, her eyes lowering, guilt creeping slowly onto her features. "Oh, was.. there something you needed?"

Kessah tsked lightly, "Fine fine, stay disgruntled at my general being." The spacer gal grinned a little and walked out in a brisk pace.
Star Paul (12/30/2007 9:58:18 PM): ^^(two sizes too big)

After a while, the doc would sigh and rise from the chair, feeling the need to walk around. He also needed to check on something and headed for his quarters, knowing that the other nurses and doctor would and could cover for it. "Hmmm I hope she isn’t causing trouble..."

"Yes actually," Yuriko said and took a seat at the console turning the chair to face Nana. "I need help with the sensors, I am not getting accurate readings on the nebula, only visual ones. I believe the technicians on Hotaru accidentally messed with our sensors array while repairing the ship. So... I need help re-aligning the sensors so I can probe the nebula of its secrets, in particular why it is glowing."

Reiko just continued to eat and drink with the patience of a rock, unphased by Kessah's words. She wasn't going to let the girl get the best of her.

"...Okay." The passion she typically had about her work had fizzled, and while she was quick to smile and ready to get to work, she just didn't seem to have much motivation besides the fact that Yuriko asked her to do it. "...They.. aren't supposed to glow...?"

Kessah paused just after she exited the wardroom, thinking of what to do. ... I was bored in the first place... Hm... Kessah though about wandering into the Observation room, but that would involve going into Reiko land. Can't have that. "MEGAMI! Be a good hypothetical lassie and see if there is any mechanical work that needs to be done, or, failing that... If anyone needs help or something." I said lassie... Can't believe I went and did that...

"This one glows too brightly... it could be a phenomena, some form of gas, or any number of other possibilities. But, they can glow Nana. I just find it a mild curiosity." Yuriko smiled and motioned to the other console. "No grunt work involved, just simple programming and the like, MEGAMI will assist you while I test, and run another scan on the nebula and the region ahead of us."

After checking on the little kitten in his quarters, Akeno would start for the wardroom, the cup and tray in hand. Having always been a man of action, he would return the tray to Haru himself without bothering Aki to do it. It felt to him too much like ...having a servant and Akeno didn't really like that idea. The little Siamese kitten sitting on his shoulder, her long tail swishing idly as he walked. "Well it seems like this is the crew meeting place..." he mused and glanced over in the direction of the kitchen and went to sit down instead. Putting the items on the table in front of him he sat back, yawning and brushing his fingers through his hair. The kitten jumped off, seeing the others and watched them, meowing softly out of curiosity.

"I'm a bit more handy with things that have the possibility to explode in my face, but, all right.." Stepping towards the console, Nana wiggled her fingers and silently knocked the screws loose in her head. "I think it's just a calibration issue, or they crossed some wires or something.." That was what she'd assumed before looking, anyway, pausing before the console and glancing over, "Certain diagnostic that needs to be run?"

"Just run a sweep of MEGAMI's sensor suite. Although I concur on the calibration issue, my readings are not accurate. I seem to be reading multiple stars in close proximity to the nebula..." Yuriko frowned a little.

"Right, right." Nana wasn't ashamed to admit when she needed a nudge in the right direction, though she'd be just the tiniest bit embarrassed after the fact. Ticking away at the console, she did as instructed before turning to glance in Yuriko's direction, "That does seem a little strange."

A hail of displays with various readings popped up in front of Yuriko as she worked. "Nana...what does the diagnostic say about MEGAMI's sensor suite?" Yuriko asked in a somewhat slow and ponderous voice.

"...Well, Chui. It seems that the sensors are in working order." Wrinkling her nose, Nana straightened up, rubbing her hands together absently as she rocked on her heels, "So I guess the problem is...." She trailed off, her eyes flitting towards the display.

Yuriko checked the readings again, focusing on the origin of them and using MEGAMI's powerful sensors package. She blinked several times in surprise. "Proto stars..." She muttered under her breath.

PAUSE

ON: You know where

Kessah sighed a little to herself and tugged the pant portion of her uniform upwards. Alrighty... Lets go find me a newbie, being that MEGAMI doesn't have anything... "MEGAMI, My savvy AI lass!" I'm going insane~ "Where is... Um... The new girl?"

Miya was, at that moment, in one of the unused laboratories. A volumetric clipboard 'in hand,' she went through each of the storerooms, double-checking the inventories and carefully rearranging things to better suit her own tastes. As Kessah asked, she was on her hands and knees in a closet off the lab, pulling out boxes of equipment.

MEGAMI responded quickly, albeit vaguely. After a short prodding of being specific, MEGAMI guided her along the road to newbie land.

Not to long after, Kessah quietly entered the lab space.

Miya was, at that moment, not exactly visible from the door. The sound of clinking class and metal could be heard from behind one of the counters, though, and after a moment Miya popped up, with both hands full of half-assembled equipment. She plunked it on the counter, and almost ducked back out of sight before she noticed Kessah. "Oh! Pardon me," she said, bowing. "May I help you?"

Kessah chuckled a little at Miya's state of affairs as she wandered over, no 'sexual tone' in her step at all. "Nah, I was coming by to see how you were doing and potentially help you along with things."

"Oh!" Miya said, with a bright smile. "I certainly wouldn't mind the help. Some of this is a bit heavy." She bent back down behind the counter, and after a moment of struggle plunked a half-empty box down. "I've been dragging these over here," she said, a bit out of breath.

Kessah tapped her chin a little before coming to a stop by Miya, peeking into the box as she spoke lightly, "Well... I'm not one to be heavy lifting, being a small thing that I am." She was indeed a small thing, 4'9" and such. "But I can help you put stuff together or such, or at least break you in social wise."

"Eeh, I suppose so," Miya said, blushing a little as the fact of how much taller she was set in. "Ano... Break me in social-wise?" she asked, setting a few boxes of tiny plastic test-tubes on the counter. "How do you mean?"

"Well nothing perverted if thats what you're thinking. Thats 'Tenshi's job, Mm?" Kessah kept her smirk before continuing, "Talk, you know. Make you feel at home, eh? You can ask whatever you want about the ship and it's mates if you want, too. Pretend I'm a little Kiosk with a I above my head or something, Mm?" ... Insane~.

"Ah, well then!" Miya said brightly, a little bit of a blush creeping over her cheeks. "In that case... Datenshi wasn't just putting on a show, there? She is that forward? And here, these need to go in these racks..." She flipped open a box and began slipping the tubes into a grid-like rack, tilting her head to listen to Kessah as she did so.

Kessah nodded lightly to Miya's request and began to help Miya out, two tubes on each hand between her fingers, for a total of four. "She is a playful thing... Quite forward, yeah. She isn't going to take you if you're not willing, of course, but by the show earlier I am pretty sure you're quite willing..."

The blush continued its creep across Miya's face as she glanced down. "Aah-hah, ano... I wouldn't know about that," she said, a bit uneasily. "What about Joe? What is he like, besides what I saw?"

Kessah couldn't help but let out a quick bit of giggles at Miya's state of affairs, but didn't dwell on the subject as she continued to place tubes in tube holders. "Joe... Well, I'm not sure. Don't get to see him to much, as it were. Half the time we're just on different sides of the ship. Sad, truly, one of the few non-neko on board. No offense. He has to be a good person, though, as he manages to have sex with Datenshi semi-regularly apparently." The spacer gave a shrug.

"Aaah... Is that an indication of goodness?" Miya said with just a little grin. "Ano... I don't recall the two of us getting the best of introductions! Why not tell me a bit about yourself?" Miya paused in what she was doing, looking up to Kessah.

"Oh... Well... Me... Don't get that a lot. Well.. I'm a spacer, live out on space for all my life... Dislike planets for a personal reason... Um... I'm... a very submissive person, which I'll admit readily..." She paused a moment before shrugging to herself, "And I'm in a incestuous relationship with my look-alike sister. Which probably doesn't phase you, but I might as well say it before you hear it off someone else..."

If Miya was phased, she certainly didn't show it, simply nodding instead. "Okay, I'll be sure to keep that in mind," she said, glancing down for a moment with one finger to her lips. "Ano... What about the captain, then?"

Kessah paused a moment, "Well... Yuriko is a good mate..." She paused again, not seeming to be phased by Miya's lack of visible phase-iness. "Mother of two kiddos as of late... Kind, etc. Not really much to say about her that you wouldn't find out after two minutes of speaking with her."

Miya tilted her head slightly, listening intently as she continued with the vials. "Mmm... I shall have to try to sit down with her formally shortly," she said. "And our executive officer? She was the first person I met after coming aboard, but we didn't speak long..."

"Koharu? Dunno much about her... She is rather secluded, turtle like if you will." Kessah spoke lightly as she began to finish off the ever so complicated task of vial placement.

Miya nodded emphatically at that. "She sounds interesting, then!" she said, finishing off her own rack. "I'll have to try to get to know her better as well, I suppose..." She paused for a moment to stretch. "I suppose there are others I haven't had the chance to meet yet?"

Kessah nodded quickly, "Undoubtedly. We have a total, including myself, you, and sprites, of eighteen people aboard this vessel. Pretty sure you haven't seen everyone..."

Miya nodded, again. "It'll take a while, I imagine. Let's see..." She paused to glance over the boxes and what'd been laid out over the counter. "I'm not certain how much you know about integrated quantum spectroscopy instrumentation, but I think I can handle it from here. Getting those tubes set just takes forever, is all." She smiled warmly to Kessah. "Thank you for the help! I can get this later, but I am hungry... Perhaps we could duck over to the wardroom?"

Kessah nodded quickly, "Alrighty... Actually heading down there for food sounds like a plan. And... it sounds familiar, but I probably don't know anything about the various words that I can't be moved to repeat for the possibility of looking silly after not saying it right. Um... What do you want, exactly? I can get whoever to get it ready and out when we get there and save us from the possibility of carrots being shoved up our orifices."

Miya momentarily looked like she didn't know what to say. "Ano... Nothing involving carrots, I believe!" she said hastily. "Just something simple would be nice... With rice, maybe."

"Um... Curry? I... think Curry has rice... I don't know much in the way of meal names... And don't worry, they won't shove anything up your body or anything. Just toss them at you..." Kessah smirked lightly.

"Curry sounds lovely!" Miya said with a smile. "Though I don't think I want carrots thrown at me, either..." She mock-winced, and with a grin, started on her way to the wardroom, checking that Kessah was with her.

Kessah was a brisk walking, and spoke lightly as the two exited. "MEGAMI... Could you page a kitchen staff to whip up two... Um... things of Curry? With... rice. And no seafood for my case... Otherwise its up to them. With reasonable bounds." Kessah nodded lightly to herself, looking over to Miya. "That fine?"

"Hai, it sounds perfect!" Miya said, smiling. "My mouth's watering already! Who does the cooking here, generally?"

"Ah... Sprite Haru does, usually, although Aki sometimes does it, too. Oh... And don't call them sprites. They seem to resent it." Kessah smirked lightly. Her pace was a good one for her size, even if she was larger actually. Very brisk, but still a walk.

Miya nodded emphatically again. "I'll certainly keep that in mind. It's never good policy to mistreat the ones who make your food, I believe!"

Kessah nodded a little, "Mm. Always a good policy. Although don't treat them too right... Or they might... Sweeten it. With sap. From themselves." She kept a tone where it was hard to tell if Kessah was lying or not. She, truthfully, sometimes wasn't to sure herself.

Miya tilted her head slightly. "I'm afraid I don't understand," she said, sounding genuinely confused. "Do sprites produce sweet sap? I wasn't aware they did... I didn't interact with many when I was on Kyoto, and I wasn't on the Hotaru long enough to find out something like that..."

Kessah quite literally face palmed herself, and sighed. "Ask Yuriko or Koharu about it. They can tell you more, being that I'm just a Yammie." They're so going to kill me~. "Not 'Tenshi, though. She wouldn't know. And its that door way right there." Kessah waved off in the distance at a doorway, which was right there.

"I'll have to ask later, then," Miya said, a little uneasily. She glanced down to the floor as they walked, poring through her memories of any indication of sprites or nekos producing any kind of sap.

Kessah mentally cackled evilly to herself. It was fun toying with people, even she did it sometimes. "Mm. C'mon..." She motioned Miya to follow some more as Kessah broke into a faster gait into the wardroom, and made a B-line to where two plates of curry were set up. Same table where Miya and company were sitting before, at that.

Miya had already broken out of her reverie as she smelled the curry wafting through the wardroom. "That smells very good," she breathed as she sat down, taking a quick moment to bow. "Itadakimasu!" she said cheerily, and picked up her chopsticks with a wide grin.

Kessah chuckled lightly at her friend and shook her head a little, sitting down to the curry. "... I have no idea what she put into it. Oh well." The techie shrugged and picked up not the chopsticks that were waiting, but instead the Spork along side the chopsticks. Long live the spork.

Miya, at that point, hadn't noticed. She was very slowly chewing on a mouthful of the stuff, her eyes staring, unseeing, at the ceiling. "This is fantastic," she said after swallowing. "Mustard, poppy, garlic, and ginger, I think... Mmm." She leaned forward a little and set into the dish with abandon.

Kessah tweaked a brow a little over to Miya, although stiffled the urge to chuckle at her newbie-friend via taking a sporkful of Curry into her mouth. "Well, it isn't posioned then! Always a positive thing." She said playfully after swallowing.

Miya nodded enthusiastically. "I wouldn't know specifically, but I'm fairly certain that food that isn't poisoned is significantly better than food that is." She paused a moment, putting a finger to her lips. "Though I have heard of older-model nekos seasoning with potassium cyanide. The one I spoke to said she liked the taste of defiance."

Kessah tweaked a redhaired brow again, further this time, but took this in her stride as she continued to eat her food. "Well..." She began after a pause of eating, "Cheers to them being the newer models."

Miya held up one hand as she shoveled a little more into her mouth. "Older, older," she said after a moment. "I couldn't do that, I'd die!"

Now she couldn't help but chuckle lightly, and Kessah shook her head a little. "Don't take this personally... But you're a strange person sometimes, mate." She then shoveled some more Curry in.

Miya smirked a little as she quickly polished off the last of the dish. "I get that on occasion, yeah," she said. "I don't meet many normal people, though."

"I'm not to sure I'm normal by any society-esque means, so I suppose I shouldn't talk..." Kessah smirked a little in return before finishing off the last sporkful of mystery Curry.

Miya nodded emphatically again. "So, what's it like working on the Asamoya, by the way?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side as she leaned back in her seat, apparently content with the meal.

Kessah pushed the plate of former curry forward a bit and stretched her arms upwards, cat like. "Mm... Its a new ship, one of the prototype models, so we both can and can't fiddle with nearly everything. Well, techie wise. Which is fun for us techies... Crew wise, its one of the top ten in my long lifetime of crewmates... So long as you don't mind..." She brought up her fingers for the finger quotes, " 'Sleeping around'. This is the spiritual decedent of the YSS Sakura, after all. You might of heard of that ship's reputation. But, even without the sexual bits, its a good time. Although... lately its been a bit slow."

Miya tilted her head again. "I hadn't heard, actually," she said. "But I think I can infer! Dear..." She glanced away, blushing a little. After a moment, she turned back. "Well, we're on an exploration mission, ne? Those can turn exciting awfully quickly!"

Kessah nodded a little, "Mm. Hopefully not another Mishhu fest, though... I'd rather not be stuck in the engineering bay, keeping my weapon close for any ghost Mishhu or something." She waved dismissively for a moment. "... Well, not to get you scared or something."

Miya did look rather concerned at that, one hand falling to her sidearm. "I haven't ever seen a Mishhu," she said slowly, "and I don't think I care to. Ano... We do have a policy of using backups when going into dangerous situations, right?"

Kessah nodded, "'Course, 'Course. Everyone does. Don't worry about dieing or anything, that rarely happens. You just tend to have to keep a eye open for anything odd. You have more chances of being attacked and dragged off by someone on board than a ghost Mishhu attacking... Although that example might not be the greatest."

Miya shivered visibly, and went a touch red again. "Well," she said, forcing a smile, "I'll keep that in mind! I don't think there would be too many Mishhu where we're heading, anyway... But fortune favors the prepared, ne?"

"Mm." Kessah agreed softly, giving a bit of a nod. "We're going into a lack of conversation area..."

Miya blushed even more heavily. "I'm sorry," she said, glancing down to the floor. "I'm aware I'm not terribly good at holding a conversation for too long..."

"Eh, its okay, don't be down or something. It half makes me think embarrassing thoughts are popping in your head, Mm?" Kessah smirked lightly, obviously teasing Miya a little. "Why did you pick the Asamoya? Or was it a lucky random assignment?"

Miya hunched down almost imperceptibly in her seat at the mention of embarrassing thoughts, but perked up again at the question. "Oh! It was a lucky random assignment, I suppose! I am really happy I got to be assigned to such an interesting ship... I'd probably go a little out of my mind if there was nothing but my work to do. I like my work, but still, it's not something I can do constantly..."

Kessah nodded lightly, scheming a little at Miya's reaction to her previous words. "Oh? Well... This isn't a scout ship, its still a warship... So you might not be able to do stuff constantly anyway, but you'll still get to talk to mates or help out around the ship anyway, Mm?"

Miya nodded. "It does sound like I'll be able to find something to do!" she said with a little grin before glancing away again, her cheeks going just a little bit pink.

"Mm... Not to pry, but why are you blushing again~...?" Kessah grinned evilly for a moment before changing it into a pleasant grin of innocence.

Miya held up one hand again and shook her head. "I had to suppress the urge," she said, "to say, 'find something or someone to do.'" She grinned again, the pink creeping further over her face.

"Well well, you'll fit right in then, Miya. I think Koharu and Sumaru are the only ones that keep their pants on with a extra helping of glue, by the way. So you don't have to pick your targets." Kessah's grin turned into a playful, yet knowing one.

Miya glanced right back up, tilting her head a bit. "Sumaru?" she asked. "There's a name I don't recognise. Tell me about Sumaru?"

Kessah paused for a moment, and shrugged. "He is a quiet kind of guy, the one in the back of the room, ya'know? Also a bit... For lack of a better word, a girly man. I don't spend much time about with him, though, so I can't say to much... 'Tenshi tends to not have a good time with him, though, after battles... He pilots a Mindy, and 'Tenshi is the wing leader... So I have to guess he isn't the greatest fellow in the universe."

"Oooh, I see," Miya said, nodding. "Well, I suppose I'll have to meet him myself." She paused, tapping her lips with her fingertip. "Mmm... Oh, dear. Have I run out of things to ask already?"

Kessah chuckled a little and nodded, "Seems so... Not to much to ask about being that you don't really have much to ask on, Mm?"

Miya nodded emphatically to that. "I have only just arrived," she conceded. "I've only ever moved once before, and I didn't really have time to settle in there. Everything here is so new! I haven't even had a chance to unpack properly yet..."

Kessah chuckled a little... Again. And nodded. Again! "Well... Can't have that. Don't let me keep you, by the way, if you want to finish that. While its fun occasionally making you embarrassed via mentioning anything sexual in general, I can't keep you around forever, Mm?"

Miya grinned quite widely. "I think I may. Thank you very much for the lunch, and for the conversation!" Miya carefully rose from her chair, and bowed low to Kessah. "I shall certainly track you down if I have other questions. Thank you again, and please, take care!"

Kessah nodded in return to the bow, smiling pleasantly. "Alright... Cya, Miya. Oh! By the way... Wear better panties or something, as I can see a wet spot right through your clothing." She lied, but it was a fun lie all the same. "Have fun in the mean time."

At that, Miya flushed absolutely red, and with another bow, went back to her quarters in a hurry and with a little bit of a hunch-over. Upon learning of the lie, she firmly resolved to keep the prank in mind.

Kessah cackled a little to herself after Miya left, then stood up. "Alrighty... Now to find something to do! Again!" She went on the path of her quest. I have nothing witty to say.

ON: The You-know-what

Space was a interesting place to be. Sometimes chaotic, often times... peaceful. Mainly because there was nothing there. A big place, after all. However, things happen. Chance.

"Launch power armors... Scramble the fighter. All other crew prepare for standby." The female voice of Yuriko suddenly declared over the ship.

Koharu swiveled in her chair on the bridge, looking over the distress signal they had just received. "Should be an interesting change of pace, to not be fighting SMX for once." She pulled up a volumetric screen with the proper coordinates to the last known of the vessel sending out the distress signal.

Kerr heard the orders over the ship's intercom and hurried himself toward the multifunction bay that held his Ryusei II. He stripped out of his uniform and climbed into the hemosynthetic cockpit. After a few moments, he had the fighter's systems up and running and he launched from the Asamoya.

Degan had been relaxing in his room, looking over the technical specs of the Mindy power armor when a familiar voice came from the ships PA. The call made him tremble a little, whether in anticipation or fear he could not tell. All her could feel was the adrenaline pumping in his system when one chooses to fight instead of flee. Dropping the specs he hurried out of room, taking off his shirt as he ran through the halls to the power armor bay. Stripping down quick and jumping into his new suit, the Mindy, he powered up. "This is Degan to bridge, whats our target?" His breath welled up in his chest as he awaited his orders.

"This is bridge, we have an unknown number of aggressors attacking a civilian freighter. I'm not reading any SMX in the area, so it might be pirates but I wouldn't hedge any bets yet," Koharu replied rather calmly over the comm channel to all of the fighters as she went over the data. "The SMX have snuck up on us before. We'll be having ya'll investigate the incident, neutralize any threats and administer any aide to the civilian crew."

The young Yamataian was next, as he was just now making it into the armor bay. Sumaru nodded a hello to Degan as he rushed by to his Mindy. As he wiggled out of his clothes Sumaru with his hands busily affixed his lucky pink hair clips to his bangs, to keep them from his eyes, then got suited up. "Hasegawa Sumaru; reporting. Sorry for the delay command." He finally got to announce once his pink paneled suit was powered up.

Cherry looked over to Sumaru for a moment before shrugging lightly to herself and applying her helmet to her armor, ready to go. And so she did, out into space.

The situation was fairly clear. A Geshrinari Light Freighter was sitting, engines powered down and looking dead out of the water, not to far from the Asamoya with several blast marks and other signs of battle. All of its weapons appeared to be destroyed. The only contact other then the freighter was detectable attempting to hide on the other side of the freighter.

"Alright, so all we know is that we gotta keep the civvies alive, huh?" Kerr replied to the bridge. "Oughtta be easy enough. Alrighty Shoi, I'm gonna get to the freighter and blow up anything that gets in the way."

"Affirmative, Kerr. Keep a clear head, I can't tell what the contact is packing. Try to coordinate with the Power Armor pilots, they'll probably want to play a little bit too," The crimson eyed bridge officer replied, sounding amused despite the seriousness of the situation. "Try not to let him blow up the civs too badly, over."

"Roger that." Degan watched as his PA fully initialized , his HUD was active and his weapons hot. Degan had chosen the balanced Mindy load out. He was a warrior of balance, yin and yang, sames and opposites interacting to create one being that is so contradictory he still makes sense, which is a contradiction in and of itself. No time for thoughts like that though, now was time to swoop in, holding the sword of justice. "Launching." The inky black of the infinite void rushed toward his tinted faceplate as the suit adjusted itself to the environment. "Kerr, you got the big guns. I'll cover your six so no one startles you and makes you accidentily fire off into the civvies."

"Alright, Shoki Wing gather up. Keep the formation tight, and keep a keen eye on your surroundings, if you pick up anything be sure to alert the rest of us. There might be more than meets the eye going on here." Sumaru said as he floated to the bay doors the Mindy’s feet just skimming over the surface, standing on the line waiting for the rest of the present wing to gather up. Sighing a little as he watched Degan head out before the rest of them, the young Joto Hei was reminded of someone else. "Degan, slow down and group up on my wing. Got it?" Sumaru ordered as he then launched his own armor as well as any of the sprite manned suits that usually were launched, if they too were ordered to prepare that is.

"I'll try to keep the fireworks to a minimum but if I don't have anything to shoot at," Kerr replied to Koharu and Degan while he closed in on the freighter. "There's got to be at least one relatively large enemy out here so let me know if y'all spot it so I can take it out. Then, I'll help y'all clean up the small fry.

"Well I'll try next time but if I waited for you any longer the enemies might have waited so long they would kill themselves out of boredom, and we can't have that, sir." Degan said too Sumaru

Whatever the contact was, Koharu didn't seem to warrant it enough of a threat to deploy more sprites or PA other than the four of them. She did however put the rest of the ship at general quarters just in case that she did in fact have to send out more support for the small Armor Wing.

Cherry didn't respond to Sumaru but did appear to follow his order, moving her armor near his from the rear.

Meanwhile! Another contact would appear on sensors, although it was moving away quickly. A Ge-T1 shuttle on the flee path from the now identified 'hidden' vessel that used the freighter as cover: A Vampire-Class Patrol craft. Nothing for the Asamoya. Or Mindies, for that matter. And based on the early read out... It seemed to have had much better days. But its weapons were hot and ready.

"Kerr, I think I found your large enemy. Hes in pursuit of a shuttle. Do you see him?" Degan's hands twitched over his control as a burst of adrenaline shot through his system, his finger tips remembering training and real battles past as they anticipated the eventual move into combat mode.

"Well in my personal experience, enemies that kill themselves means less work for us. That also means fewer repairs for Datenshi, and unless you have a death wish I think you better keep that armor as untouched as possible." Sumaru commented back, amusingly as the pilot himself has had his fair share of the Armorer’s wrath. However his attention was taken by the craft now coming into view. "Looks like there's our target," Sumaru noted, "Kerr catch up to it, see if you can take it down before it gets that shuttle. Or at least grab it's attention and bring it back towards us."

"I'm on it," Kerr stated as he veered off of his current course and began a hasty run on the Vampire-class ship. While he closed in on the target, he armed his anti-shield rockets and fired them when he was in range. "Rockets away. I bet losing his shields is gonna piss him off so watch yourselves."

"Shoki wing, start charging forearm weapons. We'll hit it with a heavy blast." Sumaru ordered as he boosted off towards the vampire shuttle, making sure to keep a bit of distance from the damaged Freighter incase of stray fire.

"But think about how much we will be saving him on his electricity bill! He should be happy!" Degan heard the voice of Sumaru ordering them to charge their forearm weapons. As Degan complied he narrowed his eyes, scanning the vampire class ship for weaknesses.

The shuttle was making good speed away. Meanwhile, though, the Vampire gave the Power armors a greeting. A positron cannon was fired toward the power armors, although not the Asamoya. Meanwhile the gun turrets, with there being only eleven, targeted Kerr and began to fire upon him.

"Break!" Sumaru shouted as he quickly barrel-rolled to the left to move his armor out of the projectile's path. His forearm weapons were now at half charge, beginning to light up with the bright white aether. His frost blue eyes locked on to his target as the pilot sped up and moved to get into a position to broad side the vessel's bridge.

Kerr turned up the speed on his Ryusei's gravimetric engines and began to circle around for another run on the ship all while dodging the Vampire's turret fire. "Can y'all do something about these turrets?! I need a few of them gone so I can get another clean run."

"Saito, would you be so kind as to go out and have some fun with the boys?" Koharu chimed to the Samurai over the comm. "It'd hurt them less if another big strong man gave them a hand."

Degan rolled to side as he charged his forearm weapon. "Where do I target Sumaru?"

Saito had been monitoring the battle from the Wardroom, standing on the observation deck; where he'd been since they got to the stellar nursery to look at the nebula and the unique spatial phenomena. "Hmm?" He blinked, hearing Koharu's request come over the comm. "They aren't having that much trouble." He responded but smirked. "Sure, I'll go give them a hand." Saito said and turned to head for the primary armor bay of the Asamoya.

Cherry moved crisply in the opposite direction from Sumaru before continuing forward toward the now enemy tagged vessel, preparing to fire weapons at it. Its not like they were out of range.

Mean while, the guns continued to barrage at Kerr's general area. But they weren't bad shots. The Vampire-class vessel kept close to the freighter, using it as a hostage from the YSS Asamoya. How cheap.

"Yo-kai," Sumaru responded to Kerr's request, "Shoki Wing, target those turrets." Sumaru shifted his positioning and twisted his armor sideways in a 180 degree side flip so he could shift his firing line. Sumaru quickly went over the displayed statistics his AIES was showing him. "All units make sure not to get to close to the underside of those wings; those cannons will leave you dead in the water." He warned, making sure himself not to get caught up on the underside, as he took this chance to make a concentrated shot of two fully charged blasts on the Vampire's Medium Positron Cannon.

"Shit!" Kerr cursed as a few of the blasts from the Vampire's turrets was deflected by his Ryusei's shield moduals. He spun the fighter around and started to fly the fighter toward the Vampire. "Hurry up and drop those turrets. I'm making a run on it with aether missiles now."

"Koharu, what info do we have on the enemy?" Saito would come over the comm system to the XO. He'd made it to the armor bay in a hurry and was selecting the configuration for a Mindy, but didn't want to go out there unprepared.

"It appears to be a single Vampire class ship with positron Cannons and hiding behind that freighter, Saito," Koharu replied quickly. "Kerr is requesting assistance in removing the enemy turrets."

"Shoki Wing, be advised if you are equipped with teleportation modules, it might be a good idea to utilize them," the executive officer suggested. "You are a smaller target than the Ryusei."

Degan targeted the turrets with his forearm weapon, his energy beam just about already to fire at full strength. Aiming the reticule with his eyes Degan sighted the turrets, trying to line up his shot so that he could take out multiple turrets with a single strike. "FIRING!" The beam shot out as he angled his gun and swept laterally in an attempt to destroy as many turrets as possible.

"Then I'll use the Dragonfly configuration, the extra speed should held help." Saito responded and selected the Mindy he wished to use, a standard general purpose one. In a few minutes, the samurai was prepared and ready to go and shot out of the armor bay to join the battle. Enjoying the feeling of enhanced speed it took but a moment to process how fast things were going. "I'm gone Koharu, hopefully this shouldn't take too long." He said over the communications. In his hand he held a positron rifle with the other free to use the forearm pods for defense or attack. Saito would go over the freighter to attack from around it, taking a shot with the powerful rifle at a turret that hadn't yet detected him.

Cherry meanwhile disappeared from Sumaru's vicinity. She then reappeared under the Vampire-class vessel and with a burst of speed moved upwards, firing her gauss cannon at a random turret while just in general firing her saber-rifle in pulse mode on the hull.

The Vampire-class vessel's turrets moved to the various armors. Six turrets took aim at the armors, picking random targets and firing almost helplessly at them, the position cannon firing again in a attempt to hold off the armor. The two remaining turrets of the eight in total continued to fire at the fighter piloted by Kerr.

With only two of the Vampire's turrets firing at him, Kerr could evade the incoming fire easier and what he couldn't avoid was defended against by his shield modules. Four light aether missiles left his missile pod and raced toward the enemy scout ship. "Missiles away. Get back and watch the fireworks, people!"

"Wow Sumaru, making friends, I see?" Degan was about to teleport and move in close with his aether sword but a transmission broke through., "Missiles away. Get back and watch the fireworks, people!" It was Kerr, and it would be wise to do as he said. On the fly Degan switched the teleportation point to be farther away, yet still in range of his gauss cannon and forearm beam. Who knew what they were carrying as cargo. If they were running guns or heavily armed it could envelop anything close in a small super nova as the ship would both blow up and compress, the fire having no oxygen to feed on.

Sumaru quickly boosted backwards, lifting his forearms and igniting the extra shielding as he braced for the missiles to connect and the potential shrapnel. His normal setup included the sylph wing pack, so naturally he used the shielding from there as well to brace for impact, which was a norm for the pilot as he usually never went into battle with a teleportation device.

Saito came out from where he was concealed to open fire on the ship with the rifle he had on hand. "Sorry for being late you guys." The silver haired Neko said to the other armor pilots.

"Don't worry, we're used to it Saito." Degan said, a grin on his face as his ship moved out of teleportation mode.

Cherry blinked a little to herself and moved backwards and away from the Vampire-class vessel, she being right by it. However, she instead bumped into the freighter. On purpose. Applying full movement ability she pushed it away.

The Vampire-class, meanwhile... Took a heavy hit to say the least. The bridge area, where the missiles hit, suddenly shone with the white aethery stuff... And then there was a hole. It wasn't a pretty hole, a ragged thing that took out the position cannon and a good clump of the turrets. For those that were looking closely, they could see a now skeleton like charred corpse begin to float out from the area not a hole into the now-hole area. The ship was still.

Aether does a lot on non-military armored vessels.

"Oh shut up newbie." Saito replied to Degan. When the hole got blown into the vampire, he floated for a moment, looking down at it. Inside the helmet he closed his eyes and offered a short prayer for those who just died. "Should we explore the ship and see what we can gain from this?" he asked.

Kerr whistled at his handiwork as he flew past the destroyed ship. "That was beautiful! Doesn't look like I left a whole lot more than scrap. Well, I think that's all for me. Hey Shoi, I'm headin' back to the Asamoya since it don't look like I got anything left to shoot at."

"Wait until we get the go ahead from the Asamoya," Sumaru said as he slowly moved out to the disabled vampire, "there might be a self-destruct mechanism on board. Can you give it a quick scan first Shoi?" Sumaru waited for the go ahead as he assessed the hull of the ship himself, checking over his HUD for any signs of escaping shuttles. "Cherry, how does that Freighter look?" Sumaru asked, concerned for the ship they came to help.

"Nice one. I think we know who's on firework duty for our ext celebration." Degan said, the chemicals in his blood subsiding and becoming much weaker, however he was still at a higher level of alert then usual.

"Tch, this was a waste of time." Saito sighed to himself and ran his sensors over the vampire to check for any motion or lifeforms. "hmm.>"

In actuality... The missiles appeared to have gotten everyone. Save for the shuttle, naturally, but that was long gone now. No, there was no life forms on board the Vampire-class vessel, but the beat up freighter had people aboard still. Many running frequently about seemily.

"Kerr, do a quick patrol of the area. Hasegawa, from my scans, the ship does not have a self-destruct mechanism but be advised that they might make one if they are really desperate. But boys, give the wreckage of the Vampire a once over to make sure it's clear of survivors that might be hidden by something inside of the ruddy thing. I would like one of the three PAs to board the civilian ship and appraise the situation there. I'm not sure if they were boarded or not," Koharu ordered thoughtfully as she looked over the data on her screens.

Kerr sighed a little when he was ordered to patrol. It was a bit dull, especially considering that he had just blown up a hostile ship. "Okay, patrolling the area," responded the pilot as he began to fly his fighter in an easy loop around civilian freighter.

"Thanks." Sumaru responded to Koharu. "Alright, Cherry do you think you think you can go and check over the Freighter?" Sumaru asked as he started to float towards the opening Kerr created for them. "Saito, Degan, that's out go-ahead. Let's go check it out." The young Pilot deployed his NSDs and set them so they could keep him from being caught flat footed from behind and checking corners for him. His left arm was left to pulse mode and his right one came alive in a blaze of white aether blade.

Saito sighed a bit. "My armor's a little too bulky at the moment to board the vampire." he said to Koharu. "This wing pack makes me a little too large, I'll cover the entrance in case someone tries to sneak up behind them."

"Roger that Sumaru, approaching." Degan moved his Mindy at a steady pace towards the disabled ship. "Hey, at least I don't have to worry about how I would get in if they locked it." Degan said, pointing to the hole made by Kerr's missiles. Inside Degan set his filters to ow light as he stood in a ruined corridor of the enemy vessel.

Cherry responded with a quick, "Hai." and proceeded over to a bulk head on the top. She then sat there for a moment, her armor's head visibly tilted. She asked MEGAMI on the Asamoya exactly how to get into the vessel, however she was instead linked through to Kessah. Cherry leaned over a little and fiddled with something before leaning upwards again. Not to longer after the hatch opened and she drifted inside, hatch closing again.

"Roger that, just figure out something that works. Clean up is never fun," Koharu replied again. She was pleased that their equipment hadn't suffered too much in the engagement. The notion of fighting regular bad guys rather than tentacle monsters was a rather soothing one, she was better prepared to fight enemies that had actual logical motivations than destroying everything.

"Degan, you’re on point." Sumaru said, falling in behind the new pilot. "Saito, do you mind watching my pack for me?" Sumaru said sweetly as he left his own Sylph wing pack behind, free floating in the spot where he was before. Sumaru was not about to let Degan go in on his own. The young pilot was also adapt at watching the rear, after having to learn the harsh lesson of being caught off guard.

Degan moved cautiously through the ruined vessel. When ships are this structurally weak it is better to move slowly then tromp around like you are trying to get mud off your boots. The low light filter displayed the environment is a pale red light, the color meaning to preserve Degans night vision.

"I don't mind. You can have it guard the entrance along with mine." Saito said as his wing pack broke off and formed into 4 pods that hovered where he was, he fed them orders to stay there and cooperate with Sumaru's to act as point-defense. He entered the Vampire and caught up with the group, keeping alert. "Stay alert."

The interior of the ship, for what wasn't burnt by aether, was some what... grim. Well, grim as in the fact that the blast knocked out the power as well. The once active ship was now... not. The doors were still operational, though. Back up power, probably. But it was easy to navigate because of it. The only thing that would engage the two as they looked would be a rush of air on opening the doors. Otherwise they found some weapons here and there... But... Really, a normal civilian ship.

"Ok, the ship appears to be clear. Orders?" Degan said to Sumaru.

"Don't be so hasty." Saito said and continued to clear the ship. "It's empty...this could be an ambush." he said.

"Let's check out the cargo hold, once that's clear we'll go back out the way we came in. Nice and slow, alright guys?" Sumaru said as they probably were almost there. Though not for a moment did he drop his guard, Sumaru’s NSDs were actively floating about his armor at all sides.

Cherry's voice came up suddenly, a neutral tone to it. Although it sounded forced. "... Cherry here. A few wounded... Anooooo... Three wounded. Damage to the ship itself... Apparently the Vampire was bandits or something..."

"Cherry, how badly wounded? And can their ship move on its own power? If they in need of medical assistance, please try to stabilize them and let me know so I can shuttle the Doc over there." Koharu inquired again. "Affirmative, Saito, running scan now. Kerr might see them first, though."

He'd send a message to Koharu; "Koharu, scan for escape pods could you? We might get lucky and catch one."

There was a pause from Cherry for a moment, "... I have no means of stabilizing them... But their wounds don't seem to be to major. Two are unconscious, though... The worst appears to be a broken and slightly burnt leg that is bleeding a little from the little girl." The only change in tone was the added emphasis. "... Thats not to say they won't bleed out or something."

"I haven't spotted any yet but I'll keep my eyes peeled," Kerr chimed in. "Wouldn't escape pods have individual distress signals if they were launched. We would have picked them up by now."

"Unless they disabled their homing beacons, but you are correct, Kerr. Come on back to us then." Koharu replied as she maneuvered the Asamoya into a position to dock with the freighter. "Cherry, I'm commencing a docking protocol, have the ship accept it." She frowned as she alerted her doctor. "Doc, we have a young civilian suffering from some severe injuries. I'd like you and one of the girls to stabilize them and assess their medical status to see if we need to ferry them home."

The docking port extended out from the Asamoya and fit onto the top of freighter, at the bulkhead. Secured, the bulkhead's first door opened, accepting guests.

Akeno came back to Koharu as he was prepared for any injuries to the crew in the event of it during the fighting. "I'm ready for her here, bring her to the main medical bay." He said as he pulled on his white coat.

"Roger that, Shoi," Kerr spoke as he redirected his fighter and flew back to the Asamoya.

"Cherry, could you splint that leg and have their crew still capable of walking carry their wounded to the Doc?" The executive officer ordered in that polite tone of voice. "If they don't have anything, use your rifle and secure it with scraps of cloth, someone's shirt or pants' leg, something."

Degan nodded his head in agreement and moved towards what his schematic said was the cargo hold. He had his setting set to aether sword for close up work. If something was there he could always dodge and fire off his shoulder mounter gauss cannon.

There was a quick, "Hai" from Cherry once again. About a minute later two men emerged from the vessel via hatch and almost fell over with the sudden gravity change. One was holding onto the other, who had a badly cut arm. With Cherry's instruction he questioned the Medical bay's location out loud, and to his slight surprise the arrow appeared and he followed. A Neko woman carried a bandaged via shirt (Her shirt, no less. Yes, meaning she was about with her bra.) woman who had a stomach wound and some slight burning, but unconscious, followed the two men from behind. "We are going to need a stretcher or something for the girl..." Save for the Neko, the crew seemed to be Geshrin or Nepleslian.

Sumaru followed in behind, his only set of eyes watched his readouts and surroundings. He felt his body begin to tense up like a spring, just waiting to let loose on the first thing to pop out.

Akeno would get to work on the patients as they showed up, working on them in first-come-first-serve until they could get the girl there. Most of the damage wasn't serious, but it didn't matter and he'd quickly diagnose the issue and began treatment.

The cargo hold had a evil creature ready to attack! More air! Well, in actuality the cargo bay held some more weapons, even what seemed to be a beat up... arm... of a Mindy. Well, it was more of a husk as all the was inside was burned away as it's protocol mandated. But... it was empty of life.

Saito blinked a bit and cautiously entered the cargo hold to examine the Mindy arm, to try and figure out the story. "I don't like the look of this, it looks like it was force to self-destruct." he said.

"As the laws go, our technology was not going to fall into enemy hands. I just hope the pilot had been rescued from that suit first." Sumaru said with a sad sigh, avoiding thinking about the more probable situation. "Well if that's it, we should make out way out. Let's go." Sumaru then turned around and floated to the door, taking point and staying alert.

Degan followed behind, not saying a word. For once he did not have some sarcastic comment to shoot out like a cannon, no irony to point out. At any time that missing pilot could be him.

The child of six was carted up finally on a borrowed stretcher and set in the medical bay. The carriers were the sprites of the Asamoya for the curious. Cherry meanwhile exited the freighter, walking toward the PA bay to desuit.

Yuriko looked over to Koharu, paused, then spoke lightly. "Get Nana and Kessah to help fix up the freighter... We'll be going back with it in tow now. Exploration can wait... Are you okay with taking command over that for now?"

Akeno turned to the little girl and began to examine her wounds. "Let's see." he said as he got to work as he finished with the first guy to show up. "I'm sorry you got hurt sweetie, but I'll make sure the hurt goes away ok?" the doctor said, offering the little girl a gentle smile.

It would be notable, though, that unconscious six year olds were the silent type.

"Sure, Yuriko. I can handle that," Koharu nodded as she sent out the orders to the ship's techies. "Nana, Kessie, I need you gals to suit up to fix up this civie ship attached to the Asamoya." She switched comm channels to her Armor Wing, "Shoki Wing, this is bridge, give me a status report."

Kessah responded to Koharu with a non-sarcastic "Yaaaay~." in reply to Koharu, although she did as ordered. Quickly. Minus the suiting up, though. No, she just got her kit and was followed by Nana to the ship. The non-self repairing beautiful ship.

Akeno turned to the little girl and began to examine her wounds. "Let's see." he said as he got to work as he finished with the first guy to show up. "These look pretty bad, what happened to her?" He mused as he worked to fully reset the broken bone and deal with the issue of the partial fracture. "She got thrown around pretty badly.." He said and asked one of the sprites to bring up the girl's medical information.

"Its all clear, the only thing notable is they recovered a bit of Mindy that had destroyed its insides already. We’re currently on our way out." Sumaru responded to Koharu as they passed through the opening and back out into space, Sumaru as he passed by was quick to snatch up his Sylph pack and re-equip as he headed towards the Asamoya.

Saito would follow Sumaru's example and gathered his wing pack back to his armor before heading back toward the ship. "Hmm.."

"See you boys when you get back, we have the civilians aboard at the moment. Be sure to double check your equipment when you come in and keep an eye on them. They'll be with us until we can get back to port," Koharu sent to the Armor Wing pilots. "Once you've finished your checks, get some food and some rest."

Oh and END'd

After the PAs returned home, life aboard the vessel really didn't change much. Kessah and Nana both advised against the crew of the freighter to stay aboard to much as a just in case thing. The hull's intergirity wasn't that great.

Although when prodded at the two tended to glue themselves to the ship instead of being taken back on board the Asamoya. Rare opportunity!

The three wounded were stabilized with relative ease. The two gashes were cleaned up and mended while the girl's leg was similarly cleaned up and had salve applied to it. The burn marks, with help of the salve, would heal up in probably a month or so. She'd be fine. Much to the delight of her (adopted) mother, the ash skinned white haired Neko.

The story was told as this: The freighter was on a scavenging run. Apparently a Yui-class scout was attacked by Mishhu ships somewhere abouts this part of space. The crew was recovered, the ship wasn't. Mainly because the crew got out via a couple of Mindies and escape pods. Upon encountering the stellar nursery by chance, they were attacked by the Vampire-class vessel. The reason was unknown, but the freighter got a SOS out before communications were blasted out. They would have probably been destroyed if the Vampire-class's weapons, other then 11 turrets and the cannon, were operational. The cause of their attack was unknown to the freighter crew, though. Perhaps pirates? Pirates usually had sensors to scan for cargo, which the freighter lacked. Who knows.

The shuttle that launched from the Vampire-class shortly after Mindies were scrambled had escaped, and it was decided to NOT follow it. Never know whats out there, after all. And so the YSS Asamoya returned home, abandoning her mission for now. Civilians were more important then a nebula. The nebula wasn't going anywhere, either.

For hopefully obvious reasons the return trip was a little longer then the getting there trip, but there were no incidents. The freighter crew largely kept to themselves, probably thinking the YSS Asamoya's crew was a little to intimidating. Whatever the case, though, they still paid their thanks (Many, Many times) to the saviors of their lives. And by that, I of course mean the entire crew. Even the care takers.

Upon returning to Hotaru, the freighter was docked with the station and the crews of the respective ships gave their farewells to each other. The child gave Akeno and Cherry a hug around the leg each before departing, which made Cherry noticeably embarrassed.

Shortly after Yuriko disappeared, probably to give a mission report. The crew's free time around the station (Again.) lasted only ten minutes, though. At ten minutes they were all sent a message.

And that message read:

Crew of the YSS Asamoya,

Although your assigned mission was not completed, it will be taken by another vessel in your stead. You, however, have been given one week vacation/shore time via Taisho Yui.

Personally, we recommend you go to Koukotus. It's a paradise world.

Your Shoi, however, has declined to come at this time. She said to relay the message, though, to go on without her. She also said that there was Potential for another week to be added to your total~.

Lucky.

Gather whatever you want aboard the YSS Asamoya, although please do not bring any weapons unless you are a Samurai. A shuttle waiting in bay 6-7 will take you to the destination you all chose, Koukotus or not.

You have fifteen minutes. Chop chop.

Silvers, Hotaru staff

It was slightly informal, sure, but genuine none the less.
