I saw this icon on my internet tabs for about 20 mins this morning. It was just the red cross unless I had an alert, in which case that lighter red square was there.

Thank you for checking on it. Not a request, needed a prefix. This seemed the best forum to put this in.
 
It just means the Red Cross is now trying to hack your computer to get you to donate blood. Hey, supplies are dangerously low, they gotta take drastic measures. :P

Okay I have no idea, but seriously, you should donate. :D
 
I still haven't been able to reproduce this. What browser are you using?
 
Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 (64-bit) up-to-date

I've searched all I can, too, and haven't gotten close to turning up anything. It would be nice to find out, though. May email chrome support just to see if it's on their end.
