RP: Fort Ready [Class 5] Graduation

At promptly 0600 Ramiro went banging into the recruit's rooms in the barracks, pots and pans clanging together as he walked. "Rise and shine ladies! It's graduation day!" Ramiro was already in a cleanly pressed Type 31 Duty Uniform, which was unusual since he usually wore the type 30, and over the uniform was the Type 30 Serve Dress Uniform, complete with hat. "I want you all in complete ceremonial uniform. We have to look good, there is a special guest appearing at the ceremonies today." Ramiro the proceeded out of the room and left the recruits to get ready.

Graduation Ceremony, Fort Ready II Parade Ground, 1500 hours

Ramiro had his four recruits ready and lined up in two straight lines. He then moved to the front so both he and Aendri were at the front of those two lines. Each one of them was in a freshly-ironed uniform, Ramiro's and Aendri's advertising their ranks and awards. One by one, the groups of students and their instructors were called. Once Ramiro heard his and Aendri's names called, he called the group to attention. They proceeded forward down the road nearest to the training areas, made a left turn at the road, just before the stage, and moved towards the center of the field. Once they reached the center, they did a right face, came at attention in the center of the parade field where all of the high-ranking officials on stage could see, and then did a left face before proceeding forward, halting at the end of the field, and moving to their designated seats near the front. Ramiro and Aendri then proceeded on stage and sat in a block of chairs with the other instructors. Once all of the groups has taken their seats, the crowd quieted down, as the main ceremony was about to begin.

 

[Nashoba]

Shinja Noriko was waiting off to the side of the platform where she and the other dignitaries would soon be seated. She intended to keep her speech short after hearing that Yui was going to be a guest speaker. She adjusted her uniform one last time, and reviewed her notes.

 

[Gabriel]

One of the officials, on the opposite side of the stage from Aendri and Ramiro, stood an walked to the podium. The blonde Neko had many awards on her uniform, and from a distance the two yellow bars on her dress uniform could be seen, signifying her as a Chui or a Taii. She waited for the noise to die down before starting. "Ladies and gentleman, thank you for coming, and welcome to the graduation for Fort Ready's first class of YE 33." She paused for applause and then continued. "Before we move on to the actual Yonto graduation, I would like to introduce two very important people who will be our guests of honor at this ceremony, and will be giving speeches of their own. Our key speaker later in the ceremony will be none other than the former Empress herself, Kesturui Yui, Taisho of the First Expeditionary Fleet." Again, the neko paused for applause, this time a little longer, before continuing. "And to the Taisho, we extend a special 'Thank You' for lending Fort Ready the YSS Academy for training use. Now, to move on, it is my pleasure to introduce our next speaker, Chusa Shinja Noriko, and Director of the Star Army Training Administration." The Neko turned to Noriko and bowed before gesturing the podium and then taking her seat.

 

[Nashoba]

Noriko stood and walked over to the podium, see waited a moment for the applause to finish before starting to speak.

"Officers, Dignitaries, Honored Guest Ketsurui Yui-Taisho, I thank you for giving us some of your valuable time. It is my honor to stand here before the graduating Class 01-33.

First, to start I wish to thank the fine instructors here at Fort Ready for doing their usual excellent job. You have done your best to prepare these men and women for the challenges to come in their service to the Empire."

She paused for the brief applause. Then resumed.

"Soldiers of Class 0133, you like those who have gone on before, have had your highs and lows during training. From the challenges of your first live fire session with a Longbolt, staying awake during the many lectures and classes, and the thrill of your first power armor drill. You will remember these events and think back fondly of the camaraderie that you felt with your fellow classmates. From here you will go out to serve the Empire in its time of need.

Some of you are bound for duty upon our fleets, others to serve in the Planetary forces. But no matter where you go, no matter how far your journeys may take you from your homes. One thing will always remain true, you are special, because you have chosen to join the Star Army of Yamatai, to commit your bodies to the defense of the Empire and the Empress.

It is now my very great honor and privilege to introduce our most honorable guest speaker, Taisho of the Fleet, Ketsurui Yui." She said as she stepped away from the podium and turned to face Yui.

 

[Wes]

“Thank you,” Yui nodded.

“A civilian might say that you picked a bad time to join the military because we’re at war, but you should know that this is the best time. Every day of this war is a day you can make a difference and push us closer to victory.

I am here today because you are important. To stay successful, the Star Army needs to constantly adapt and grow. We depend on you to become the next generation of Star Army veterans.

Some of you will go on to become the leadership that commands ships, units, and fleets that will go out into our dangerous sector and do good by protecting our people and defeating our enemies. Some of you will let your talents shine and become experts in your fields and leave your marks the Star Army’s knowledge base. Some of you may serve three or six years and then go into civilian life. Others might make the service their life. But I know that all of you will give your best to keep the Star Army running so that it can fight evil.

Remember the Star Army creed and live by it. Yamatai is a force for good and peace, and you are the power behind making the Empire and the universe a better place. Fight hard and keep learning.”

Once the Taisho had returned to her seat, the blonde neko from the beginning of the ceremony returned to the podium. "And now, we will begin the graduation of the recruits!" She called groups up one by one, and the instructors would take the podium, and call forward their graduates. Finally, Ramiro and Aendri were called. The two approached the podium, and Ramiro began. "For the Valencia-Shasos'Shol Class of 01-33. Each recruit will receive the following: A certificate of graduation from the UX-13 Training Facility Basic Training Program, the pin and patch as well as documentation for the rank of Santo-Hei, and the Training Award for completion of a Star Army of Yamatai Training Program." Ramiro then called the recruits one by one, waiting for them to have cleared the stage and shaken both his and Aendri's hand before calling the next one.

Once Keiko had gone through, Ramiro and Aendri returned to their seats, and the rest of the groups went through similar procedures as the others. Once all the classes had been called and recruits walked across the stage, the blonde neko took the podium again. "This concludes our ceremonies. I would like to say thank you to our guests once again. Congratulations to the Class of 01-33!"
