Arccos,

What does Truffleclub like?

-Uso

That's a complicated question. You trying to bribe my 'shrooms?

-A23

Yes, how else am I supposed to show my appriciation? Clubby lost its arm on Freehold!

-Uso

Truffles is a good Largegear, but that's the deal. They're a low processing-capacity largegear running archaic hardware, but they're undergoing ascendance. Those models aren't really programmed to be a 'person', more a 'thing'. Truffleclub probably wasn't even built to be a Type II.

In most cases sentience is incidental and not really by design, same time they're old enough and know enough to be developing incidental sapience, which goes against hardware.

Uh.

Long story short: It's still questionable if Truffles is capable of 'liking' something on any conventional level.

-A23

So, like metal-polish then? Have someone come detail its exterior?"

-Uso

Ascendence implies that they're moving from an 'it' to a 'they'. At least that's how cyberempathy dudes would put it. Same time, The Free State made the wonderful decision to get around the problems of creating a slave-labor grade underclass by making worker types really love their job, so something specific to their function would probably be well recieved.

-A23

Isn't its function helping you? I can't just buy another you.

-Uso

I mean they

-Uso

Can I buy another you? Is that a thing I can do?"

-Uso

Technically speaking, I've been increasing the number of possible frames which could potentially contain my brain in order to make it difficult to assassinate me. But I don't think Truffleclub likes that very much. They've been sort of avoiding me since they met the codetalker.

And, well, if mystery is an attractive property: Truffleclub is a real lady killer. I still haven't worked out just what Truffleclub was originally made for. They're half guard, half maintenance, half heavy labor, but they're also a doctor.

Only thing I know they seem to 'like' is the remnants of the other Largegear units I've got mothballed. They're real protective of them, but also seemed resistant to bringing the original crew back from the dead.

They like growing stuff, since Truffles wears flower garlands sometimes? I guess they also like keeping things safe? Only personal effects Truffles owned when I met 'em seemed to be a giant poleaxe made from a girder.

-A23

Thanks! That's what I needed.

Also, it sounds like you're saying I can buy more of you? If there is a waiting list I would like to be on it.

-Uso

Yes, you can buy empty Arccos frames. If I can get a look at Vier's programming it would function just as well as the real thing.

-A23

I'll see if Vier will let me open up her head.
