And now, this submission has a speed reaching Wes' notion of the top. How long before other nations reach that particular engine performance milestone and that then, Wes decides to make a Plumeria-successor gunship and have it go faster by 3000c more?
A 3d render is better than none. Personally, I was hoping to see different angles of the render in the article. If you could include one or two in the appearance section, it'd be a nice touch.
I see no need for them to damage starships, personally. They always struck me as primarily a point defense weapon. Make it hell for a power armor or a fighter to get too close, but not all that dangerous to big things. The first is the Beam Eyes. I understand they've been converted already, but the beam eyes seem to share the same complications the KFY variable weapon pods hold. Switching them to only anti-mecha was a good move... but an alternative could be to treat them in the same fashion that Star Army weapon pods are treated (give them a collective SDR 2 for the whole array of beam eyes) depending on if you still want them to remain effective against starships or not.
Why? Well, firstly, they sound fairly small and they appear to have a quick reloading rate (I tried to make the new DR system a measurement of how much harm a weapon could do in 10 seconds) and secondly, even with DR 4, the Lilaea actually can dish out more damage with its weapons than Wes' Plumeria gunship.
The bridge is at the front! Protecting the bridge comes before protecting the auxiliary engines.I liked to see the mention that most of the time, front shields would be reinforced to the detriment of rear shields. That reminded me a bit of the way Klingon set their defensive systems.
I know they could have. I have exactly zero experience with this sort of thing. Plus I lack significantly in 3D spatial sense. In the future I may have the money to pay other people to do stuff like this for me and make it look, err, not sucky.I also think your camera angles could have been better, but then again, I'm by profession a scenarist/image composition expert so view this only as a nitpick.
Huh?The Lilaea has organs that can project peristaltic fields
A ship with 12 SP is never suited to fleet warfare, IMO. Even escort missions are questionable since they are defensive. It is best suited to scouting, seek and destroy, escort missions, and fleet warfare due to the heavy armaments, high speed, sensors, and stealth. As it lacks in defensive capabilities and has limited cargo space, the Lilaea is poorly suited to command, logistics/transportation, and diplomacy.
Crataeis article, actually. The sensor section needs to be rewritten. It's pure copy pasta from the MEGAMI article!
...will edit. Dangers of working during insomnia spells.Huh?
A fleet consists of more than just the large ships. You'll note particularly that Elysia has a fair number of ships with lower than average SP due to a tendency towards lighter armor. It also has a couple with very high SP, but anyway that's getting into unrelated territory.A ship with 12 SP is never suited to fleet warfare, IMO. Even escort missions are questionable since they are defensive.
The Crataeis needs to be rewritten too, then, since its sensor section is all copy-pasta.Integrated Electronics Package is so fast
