If you were supposed to get an email from the forum but didn't (e.g. to verify your account for registration), email Wes at stararmy@gmail.com or talk to me on Discord for help. Sometimes the server hits our limit of emails we can send per hour.
Time's a-changin' for le birbs; also tagging @Wes to look this over, seeing as how I - with his permission, but still - basically copy-pasted the calendar he made.
The article says the number of days is based on Elysia Novus but then it says there are 315. Canonically Elysia Novus has 360.003 days, presumbly 24 hour ones.
@Wes - The only reason I retconned the number of days in an Elysia Novus year is due to the fact that if I didn't, it'd be mathematically impossible to preserve the current ratio of seconds to minutes to hours to days to weeks and make 1 Elysian year equal 1 Yamataian year. Preserving the former is necessary in my opinion in order to avoid confusion and promote familiarity; the latter, on the other hand, is something that was specifically chosen by the members of the #MEGA Discord server after I asked them - following our private conversation in the chatroom on June 12th - if they wanted 1 AD to equal 1 YE or 1.15 YE.
The Yamataian calendar is 9 months x 35 days (315 days a year) or 7,560 hours.
The Elysia Novus Page says a day there is 327.6 Yamataian hours long (wow!) so that means there's 23.07692307692308 days in an Elysia Novus year and that each EN-day is 13.65 Earth-days (or the same in Yam days).
As long as the years line up, if doesn't necessarily matter if the months or days do.
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to do it without retconning it, but I don't really have a great suggestion.
I think perhaps you should create a new thread in here for a retcon of the New Elysia article to change the planet's length of day and length of year, and then we can approve this calendar. The only other alternative would be to change the calendar article to say it's based on planet Yamatai (which already has the 24 hour day and 315 day year you want) and not Elysia Novus.
Wes, wasn't Yamatai aka Geshrintall originally the Elysian Homeworld? If so then wouldn't their official calendar be the regardless of what the new world is?
^ As I recall there's even an establishment of Elysian theologists doing apologetics work to establish that Novus was the *real, true* homeworld of Elysians. Because the hyperconservative strain of religion that's been in power forever doesn't jive well with losing the homeland.
Apologies for not replying, @Ametheliana - and here's my response: I'd like to continue onwards with the current version of the article, given that it reflects what the planet update page says (or will say, if/when it's approved).
