Emrys Industries: Status

Is there any particular reason why they need to be bought by the Tamahagane, a much smaller company with a smaller economic base to work with? Emrys was heavily invested in Nepleslia and made extensive use of that market, while becoming quite involved with the government through philanthropic programs.

It strikes me as odd that they'd be up and bought out by swordmakers.

Why wasn't this posted up as an objection in the NTSE submission thread? I don't really understand why you stuck this here.

Exhack,
If you read the page nothing is going to change as far as Emrys Industries and Nepleslia. I made that rather obvious. Emrys's creator has been gone from the site, for 3 years. Which means no one has been taking care of the stuff. This is just an ICly method of putting the company under my control for maintaining. Nepleslia will still be able to reap all the benefits they have from Emrys.

Code:
The corporation will continue to manufacture and sell the products of the holding companies. The corporation will also honor any legal business arrangement they have.

And for the record it is not being put under the sword company. The Tamahagane Clan is the owner of the Corporation, which also owns the sword company.

While it's a perfectly reasonably OOC thing to do, the IC means don't make a lot of sense. Since when did the Tamahagane Clan have the resources to buy out an apparently healthy corporation with significant holdings in Nepleslia and Yamatai?

Sword manufacture is a niche market compared to pharmaceuticals.

Who said the clan didn't have the wealth Ex. The page for the Clan states that it predates the Empire, and consists of 1,000 families.

The fact that the clan does operate a niche business and donates a portion of what they product to the SAOY, means that the sword company is not their sole means of finance. It is something they operate out of their sense of tradition.

Guys, if you object there's an NTSE thread. It's not even approved yet, so bring your objections there before I approve it and blow this entire thread off.

Well, its good to see that the fingers of Yamatai are penetrating Nepleslia.

Y'know, can't the DION oppose this merger?
If you would actually read the Emrys article you will notice that it begins with "Emrys Industries is a Yamataian business..." It has always been a Yamataian corporation.
