Today, the Premier's Office, in conjunction with the SMDIoN, released a statement that will likely be welcomed by many.
Star systems up to and including the Snot Nebula are provisionally claimed in the name of Nepleslia. The SMDIoN has declared that all systems will be visited by military units and secured for colonial expansion. Exploratory units from 4th Fleet are currently undertaking survey missions to these star systems and cataloging them. It is not yet known when the systems will be opened for colonial ventures but the news was greeted by enthusiasm throughout the Imperium.
The announcement further confirmed that the survey missions have been ongoing since late 34 but that given the distances and efforts required on some systems, none of the scouting units have reached the Snot Nebula. These efforts, however, have provided the Navy with a secure route to the Freespacer system of Null & Void where 4th Fleet units are now patrolling.
Colonial investors are already making plans and setting funds aside for private ventures. No information yet has been released regarding any of the star systems but the colonization fever has already struck many.
