External Ordinance System

Strap-on equipment. Nice.

I can see every faction making use of these, especially in awesome last-ditch maneuvers where they need the extra power to get out alive.

Desperation makes you care about characters.
If strapping shit to equipment millions of years more advanced than our own to get out of hell alive isn't desperation and awesome, I don't know what is.
