Irim's City, Yamatai System--Taisho Kessaku Irim announced today that she plans to add 100 state-of-the-art scout ships to the Star Army First Fleet in order to facilitate more exploration in new sectors of the Kagami Galaxy, where the Star Army is seeking out and attacking forces of the Mishhuvurthyar, especially the NMX.
The plan calls for ships to be constructed in the historic Ketsurui Fleet Yards/Kitsurugi Fleet Yards in the Iori-class star fortress "Irim's City", NK-S1-01, which was commissioned in YE 25. In its heyday, it was said the Iori-class could produce 2,065,536 Type 27 Nekovalkyrja Scout Ships in 8 days, provided all 16 of its shipyard bays were fully dedicated to the lasts. Even still, the 100 ships, which are expected to take a month to build, will provide valuable work and experience for the recently Star Army Engineering division, which now operates the shipyard bay where the new ships will be constructed.
The ships will be of the new Yui 8/Nozomi II class, which is an update of the earlier Yui 6/Nozomi I class introduced in YE 27. The design includes updated technology, more interior space, and improved sensor capabilities. In addition to using parts from Ketsurui Fleet Yards, it also uses systems developed by Geshrinari Shipyards and Yugumo Fleetworks. They are intended for long-range, independent scout missions, exploration, and reconnaissance.
