Two gargantuan figures floated parallel to each other in the void of space. Narrow beams of light crisscrossed through the shallow gap between them, causing shields to cough and fizzle out as well as armor plates to heat up and splinter. Various explosions could be commonly seen both on and around either vessel. Anyone who witnessed such a battle from afar would barely be able to make out the silhouette of the two starships amongst the numerous, miniature, second-long firestorms of dying gnats. However, if looked closely upon, these 'gnats' are actually starfighters, and the explosions were those unlucky enough to cross paths with incoming beams, flak, missiles, or even shrapnel from other wrecks. Cannons specifically designed to shoot down fighters, equipped on either dreadnought, opened fire continuously, frying friend and foe alike.

Eventually, one of the dreadnoughts' lower, bigger cannons fired a thick, white stream of energy straight at its partner. The beam cut through space in silence, vaporizing anything that was caught in its path of death, and struck the other ship. Armor cracked, hull buckled, and atmosphere vented until the stream ended. Then, the vacuum scooped out everything not locked down. A giant hole sprang forth on the damaged side of the dreadnought, sucking out paperwork, furniture, oxygen, water, and dozens of humanoids along with the remaining chunks of scorched armor and superstructure. A few more stray bolts of light poked at the exposed systems in the hole before finding a power source of some kind. The end result was a massive explosion that split the victim warship in two. A small shockwave emitted by the explosion pulsed out into the unknown, signaling the vessel's inaudible death cry.

As the battle ended, the video feed on the colossal screen cut out and clapping could be heard all around the hall. Hundreds of aristocrats had witnessed the battle that they had arranged for their entertainment. Not caring that real people fought, sweat, and died for their masters, the pompous nobles merely appraised them with a 5-second applause for a good show. Not that the poor souls out there could hear them, of course. The battle was soon forgotten, and plans for the next show was being born amongst the many conversations throughout the entire room.

((OOC: Questions? Comments? Anything? This idea sort of popped into my head for no reason at Costco earlier today. Kind of sad to see two hours of work seem so... small on here.))
