Aboard the YSS Nadare...

Akina laid on her back, staring up at the ceiling of her quarters. From the outside, she seemed to be half asleep and humming to herself. While waiting for the first of her appointed personal aides along, the Taisho seemed altogether sad, and doing nothing.

She was really processing a large amount of orders and configurations down to very small details before sending packets back out to be diseminated by the fleet, and having less, and less sent back. The life of an officer was often paperwork. She hoped there would be less, when Hakumei-Juni arrived. For however long she imagined it would be there would still be a fleet for her to command.

She wasn't sure if the Ketsurui would appreciate that she didn't care who or what Katsuko was, or had been when she decided to marry her and the same carried through.

An oolong tea was delivered by a NH-29 who spent a lingering moment staring at the Admiral before bowing and leaving her to her thoughts.

Honoka exited the shuttle that had just landed in the bay of the Nadare. She was feeling very nervous and very giddy at the same time. She did one last check over herself, and, seeing everything in order, headed off into the interior of the ship.

In the hallways, Honoka paused briefly to mentally check over the map of the flagship, and to also ask KAMI where the Taisho was. Once more, she marched towards Akina's room.

Outside the Taisho's quarters, the Nito Juni stopped again. She was more nervous now than ever, for obvious reasons. Taking a couple deep breaths and trying to put on her usual smile, Honoka knocked on the door and waited.

The doors slid open to reveal the expanse of the Taisho's quarters above the temporary flagship, she had opted to replace the design on the fountain to be like the one she remembered on the Akuro, and Yamatai was projected against the larger wall real time to make it seem like the somewhat darkened room opened right into space.

Inside, Akina reluctantly sat up and leaned against the arm of the plush sofa tea in hand. So she's finally here. "Come in." She called, waiting for her new shadow to report.

Honoka strode into the room, stopping a ways away from the sofa. She bowed deeply. "Hajimemashite, Shimizu-Taisho-sama," she greeted the Taisho. "Watashi wa Hakumei-Juni desu." She did another bow.

The aide took a deep breath again, still trying to calm herself down. She didn't want to look overly nervous with her first impression. At least she managed to muster up her smile.

"How formal." It seemed the admiral did prefer to speak in Yamataian, at least. "Sit down, and have a breath. I'm Shimizu Taisho but that's obvious. Welcome to the Nadare. I'll give you quarters nearby, for when we're actually on board." It amused her to know that her aide was probably just as nervous as she had been the day she saw Katsuko the first time. "Do you have any questions for me?"

Honoka took a seat, slightly relieved that, at least from her point of view, that Akina wasn't thinking anything too bad of her, yet. Her smile became more natural and relaxed, and she overall wasn't as tense as when she had come in, but she was still quite nervous.

"Ano, no questions that I can think of."

Honoka took a brief moment to look over the quarters of the Taisho. They were beautiful, which was to be expected of a CO's and especially a Taisho's room.

"Good, I'm sure you are aware your duties will be a little different here." Akina exhaled slowly. "We're still rebuilding, and if I can I'm going to borrow some of the old fifth vessels but Mistress Taisho has plans for most of those ships I think."

"You'll manage my schedule, or rather try to manage the people I upset when I have to do something else, and most other particulars for on duty and off. I may be cut off from most of my family, but the girls are coming soon and they need more than two pairs of eyes on them but we'll make this clear I don't want to raise them on this ship if I have any choice. I'm going to make an Iori apaplication at the very least, you'll have to proofread that."

Akina stopped to set her drink down. "For now, though. Order us something light from the galley to eat, and tell me what you think of current events..."

"Hai, Shimizu-Taisho." Honoka made mental notes on everything, hoping the computerized brain of her body could remember it. Help the children when they're born, proofread application... she reviewed mentally.

"Ano, does cheesecake sound good?" Honoka asked. She obviously didn't know the Taisho's preferences on food and such yet, so she was being on the safe side.

"No dessert..maybe just a sandwich or something." Akina replied distractedly, a manifest had just been sent to her. Once she signed off on it and transmitted it back she smiled again. "Basically, go with me anywhere unless I say otherwise. You'll learn fastest that way, too."

The Taisho waited after tucking her legs against her body, fully leaning into the arm of the sofa. How Honoka would answer her question was piquing her interest just a bit.

Honoka nodded to the Taisho, before she mentally sent a request to the kitchens, for the sandwiches, which would be delivered by a sprite shortly.

"Hai Taisho." Another mental note, just follow Akina around.

"Etto, current events. So, like the United Outer Colonies seccession? Ano, for that I think... they have the right to do it peacefully. Afterall, the, now, Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia did about the same." Honoka felt somewhat awkward talking about this sort of thing.

"I forget which ship I was serving on then. I remember the day, though. Anyway when they did it, I remember not feeling mad. Now? I worked hard for the Fifth, and my own son won't even open the border for me."

Akina picked up her glass, and played with the rim. "I want his sisters to know him, not think he ran off with the family's power and left us here to sort out the mess."

It was something the Taisho would have to come to grips with, most of the clan remained in the east, and their new children would be in awkward places. "Be careful where you say things like that aloud. Anyway, I thought it would be important to know where you stood if you're going to be around me so much."

"Hai, ano, gomenasai Shimizu-Taisho," Honoka replied. The apology was half for speaking like the UOC leaving was a matter-of-fact kind of thing, the other half was that the Taisho was split from her family. "Etto, I was just looking at it from a historical point of view."

It wasn't long after that sentence that a sprite knocked on the door of Akina's quaters, a tray in hand. There were a few sandwiches, as well as a bit of tea to wash it down.

"It's fine." Akina said a bit too quickly, then raised her voice. "You may come in."

"Hai, Taisho." The doors slid open, and a green haired caretaker entered with the tray, setting it down on the table for the pair. "Will there be anything else?"

"No, thank you. Dismissed." Akina replied, already reaching for one of the sandwiches. She took a bite while the room quieted again after the runner had left. Pausing a moment, the Taisho looked to her aide again. "I could get through their border if I had to, but I don't want to cause an incident. I'm not really sure what to do, if anything." Her eyes flitted down to her food, then back to Honoka rapidly.

"Hai. It's probably better not to mess with the closed borders for now. I'm sure this wouldn't bode too well, since I can imagine things are probably tense between the Outer Colonies and the Yamataian government," Honoka replied to the Taisho.

She looked to the sandwiches, and, after making sure the Taisho was already eating first, picked one up reluctantly.

"Ano, I hope things turn out better for you and your family, Shimizu-Taisho."

"We can get back to that, what about yours Hakumei-juni? Your file lists quite the family. They must be proud?" Akina reached for her tea, pausing to see what jade-haired woman would tell her.

She was right, though. It was better not to press the issue, no matter how bad she'd simply have to wait until she was allowed or the borders opened. Even then, she knew hers and Katsukos children would have been important, and they might all need to go. It wouldn't be fair to do that to her fiancee, so each option could do damage to a relationship; and she didn't even have one with Tio yet.

Honoka nodded, her smile getting a bit larger. "Hai Shimizu-Taisho. My family was really happy something good happened. Etto, I'd like to thank you for giving me such a position, Taisho." The aide managed a bow from her seat.

After her bow, Honoka stayed quiet and looked to the Taisho, before taking a bite from her sandwich.

"You have a good background, and can do a lot of things that's what I needed. There's no need to thank me, besides it looked like you needed a break." The Taisho smiled back, of course she had read the more interesting reviews of her Aide. She wondered then, if that's how Katsuko felt when she called for her. "Just keep striving, and that will be thanks enough."

She was a good choice. Akina was sure of it. "They'll have a lot of stories to hear when you get some leave, I'm sure. You haven't been to the bridge yet, right? I'll show you after the food has settled."

Honoka failed to hide a slight reddening of her cheeks at being complimented by a Taisho. "Hai!" She happily took another bite of her sandwich as she started to feel that she could be a bit more like herself, and not be so nervous and uptight, much faster than how she normally would have. Was it just because Akina just didn't look as overly serious some of Honoka's previous CO's seemed?

Akina made quick work of her share, and sat quietly sipping her tea before bringing on the sound of a string quartet into the suite. She'd been more hungry lately, and assigned that blame to the triplets she was carrying. The medical sprite on the Nadare had gone a little wide-eyed at the results, and that didn't exactly settle the Taisho's nerves.

In another track of her mind, she was finishing a request that went through to command, one that was direly important to her future plans and that of the fleet. "I think I'm ready when you are."

Honoka nodded, "Hai." The aide tried to quickly, but still politely, finish up the rest of her sandwich. She took occasional sips from tea, as she consumed. She tried to mix grace, so as to not insult or just look uncivilized in front of the Taisho, and speed, so as to not keep the Taisho waiting, as she ate.

Sighing as she finished, Honoka smiled once more. "Ano, beautiful music. Oh, I'm ready now, Shimizu-Taisho," she said, taking one last sip of tea.
