Front Lines Plot

An idea has come around about a front lines, high PC mortality plot, and I personally think it is a great idea.

What about some form of strike team? This would acount for plenty of action, and be intresting without ship to ship fighting.

Or simply grunts. Ideas people?

That is a very cool idea. Who will for the plot arch and when do you think?

Special Ops.
Recovery mission.
Reconnaissance.
Assassination attempts.

Other ideas??

Sounds very fun, i wil probably try to create a new character for it, one in the infantry instead of fighter piloting, PM me when it kicks off so i can get my character ready for it :)

I think your best bet for action is getting your plot/ship stuck in as many combat actions as possible.

This is very cool that we are all getting involved. I would like to get this started as son as possible. I assume that we will have to create a new character as if we are on the Destiny we have an assignment to follow, and we have to stay away from fights.

Wes could you get this up and running as soon as possible, this is all very exciting and I can't wait for it to start. :D

This is similar to the type of RP I've wanted around here for a long time, I guess I never pushed for its approval, and there weren't a lot of other people who wanted it. I shouldn't think you'd want to just be "grunts" though. I don't know, maybe you guys will be better, and maybe you won't be fighting against PCs, but in the Assassin's War no one ever died except for useless NPCs. You wouldn't want that to happen, but at the same time, being grunts would probably get your characters killed off too quickly if you're being realistic about it, which isn't great either. I also wonder what exactly the IC point would be. I'm just asking questions, not saying it's a bad idea.

What do you mean?

Grunts?

I just put down some ideas, doesn't mean that we have to follow them. The Assassin War doesn't have too much fighting but could be an idea which we could use later on. I dont think that there should be too much killing of PCs although a few would be good to keep the plot line going. Wolf I'm glad that you like this idea, would you be getting involved because I really like the idea of this.

He's reffering to an event in Ayenee. The Assassins war.

I'm really intrested by this idea, and would happily be part of it.

I think a strike team or covert operations would be good, and I think that PC's dying is a good idea, as long as it is done well. And no moaning about how your character shouldn't be dead.

Tunneling ... I don't see where that would help.

Yes, Thomas is right, I was referring to a past event in Ayenee which Wes and I took part in: the Assassin's War. What I mean when I say I wonder what the IC point would be is that Wes or someone will have to create some sort of opposing force.

I'm not sure if I'll be taking part in this, I've been talking with some old friends (from the Assassin's War, actually) trying to get some RP going back in Ayenee (the Cherub, Rooster thing at ACC are my old friends, the "Phoenix" character that Samuel mentions in his second post is one of mine, who is still on Ayenee and would know how to reach Wolf). If that takes off, I might not have time, but if I do I might make another character for this.

Seeing this plot makes me wonder how well it worked/if it worked. Reason being that high mortality RPs don't necessarily work. They just change the perspective on an RP's character value. Most that do this tend to have burn characters (brief action, resolution in death/removal only) or "fodder factors" such as NPC squads to take the brunt.

Not sure this would be fun and I am curious as an RPer, GM (unofficial one in terms of SARP), and as someone who finds death to really not be some devalued tool. Anyone know/remember?
