Hey! Not knowing what else to really put here I figured I'd just steal that template! Excited to get writing with everyone!
What do you call yourself?
Seldon or Harry, whichever you prefer.
How'd you find Star Army?
RPG-Directory.
What interested you in joining?
I've been looking to get back into text-based roleplaying as a way to flex some creative muscles that between work and life I've let atrophy, and I'm a sci-fi nerd so seeing this site with all the lore there to devour and the exciting looking writing and everything I just couldn't say no!
Ever done this text-based roleplaying thing before?
Yup, but a long time ago probably around ten or fifteen years ago (god that makes me feel old!). Then life, work, the usual got in the way, and while I've kept my creativity and roleplay fix happening via TTRPGs I've been missing the act of writing collaboratively. And so here I am!
Any previous experiences you want to share?
The experience that stands out the most for me was writing with a complete stranger, and just being blown away by their writing and story-telling, and getting to chatting with them and just hitting off and now a decade or more later we're still great friends. I've always been grateful to creative spaces, like roleplaying, for being welcoming and encouraging places where you can end up making great friends and also tell super cool stories together with peeps.
Now for the questionnaire!
Do you prefer:
I think right now I am really drawn to exploring a character for whom the perception of the world around them is radically different from how most others sense the world, and how they relate to others as a result of the difference sensorium.

Do you prefer:
- Playing male, female, or other-gendered characters?
Male I think most often, or otherwise characters for whom gender is a more fluid or unimportant thing. - Spontaneous or planned RP?
I think I like a little of both. I don't need a story-board of what is going to happen paragraph by paragraph, but sometimes having a general vibe/idea of where things are heading can be helpful. But that said I am probably most often someone who is very much a 'roll-with-the-punches' sort of approach, seeing where the writing takes us together. - Military or civilian characters?
Ooh! This depends on the setting I think. - Humans, androids, anthros, or aliens?
Like the above this will vary depending on the setting, if the lore for one just grabs me more than another, etc. - Being on a starship or being on a planet?
Starship all the way, travelling, and of course space is just cool! - Roleplay via forum posts or in real-time?
I can go for both really.
- Language: Whatever is appropriate/coherent for the scene happening really, but if we're talking the upper limit then 3.
- Violence: Ibid., 3.
- Sexuality: Ibid., 3.
