Hey everyone.

So, where to begin? Completely new to this (although I am familiar with what RP is) but excited to get started. Any and all advice is appreciated.

I have one question to get things rolling. I haven't checked this, so apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but can you start a faction that's a corporation, instead of a nation? Of course, I'm new and all, so starting a faction isn't something I'm looking to do straight away, but for the future.

Thanks.

Origin would be your best example there. They're basically Space Walmart, and have plots and stations of their own. It's possible, but it's hard to manage, just because it's hard to justify a corporation getting that big when most of the big government contracts go to government organizations.

That's not the problem. The problem is that almost every faction has companies that make its own stuff. Yamatai has Ketsurui Zaibatsu, Nepleslia has NAM, and so on. It's hard to find a product that isn't offered by somebody else that would justify any real size.

That's true to some extent, but mostly for military equipment and guns. For everything else, there's much more room for a new corporation, especially a player-run one.

Some questions for it are:
  1. What nation would it be based out of?
  2. What's it selling? (e.g. your niche)
  3. Who's it selling to?
If we can answer those well, I'd say go for it. Here's the guide to being a merchant on Star Army. This a pretty recent guide so I'm looking for feedback on it from people who use it, so let me know if you have suggestions.

To be honest, I can't answer any of those questions as of yet, but hopefully in the coming weeks/months, I will. I was just curious as to whether it was possible or not.

Okay. The short answer is "Yes!"

I'll be happy to help you when you're ready.
