Notes: Finally got around to writing up a page for this. Note that I used the CDD page as a guide. I felt it odd that the page was so short, so do tell me if it needs to be longer! <3

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
I'll take this today. W is having lunch for now, but I'll be on it in a couple hours.

Whoa, that is a short read.

Performance is based on the ship it's on, not the engine itself. However, do we know how they came about the tech? How well do they understand it? Can they repair units? What about manufacture new ones? Does it do anything else?

As I said, I used the CDD page as a guide, hence the lack of text. I'll add more if it's needed.

The tech is something left behind from before modern I'ee civilisation came to be. The I'ee would, however, have been able to intepret design blueprints and other documentation to produce, maintain and use their own. Most of the I'ee's current tech was discovered in such a way, though some, like the particle drive, is an invention of their own built from another piece of technology they 'inherited'.
The I'ee are like kids when it comes to engineering: You can give them a set of Legos to build a model death star with, but they'll inevitably take it apart and build a haphazard fleet of trains instead. They often learn the hard way not to mess with some designs, and the Alcubierre is one of them.

In short, they inherited the tech, the knowledge to build and use it and how to repair it. As for doing other things, no. The I'ee might have tried adding new 'features', but gave up after the fifth team of scientist waspers got sucked into the tenth dimension. :b

Understood, and in fairness to you, the CDD is more an explanation of what it is and not the how, why, where and when. Not fault of yours there.

Those questions you've answered in your post to me, so if those could be pitched up onto the wiki somehow, that'd be spot on. Not the entire background, but the inherited nature, the knowledge they have of repairing it, etc. Things that let players know that if they start messing with or repairing the damn thing, they better know limits.

Oh. >w< I see now, hehe. I was a little confused at first, but now I feel silly.

I've updated the article with some more information.
