KETSURUI NO IORI — Premier Ketsurui Yuumi has given birth to a baby girl.
The Premier's Office announced the birth of Ketsurui Asuka Miharu late Friday at a clan hospital in the capital city of Ketsurui Prefecture. The child and her mother are doing well, doctors confirmed.
Asuka-hime was born 23:45 and weighed 4.3 kilograms at birth. She measured 52 cm long. Her hair and ears are black. The statement said her eyes are a greyed hazel.
In a statement, the premier said she and the girl's father chose the name "Asuka" to reflect the inherent strength of the girl's soul. The premier said that Asuka was "most rambunctious in the womb."
The statement also explained the addition of a middle name, uncommon for most Yamataians.
"It is a great tradition in Yamatai and our ally Nepleslia to name a child after great heroes of the era," the premier said. "I can think of no greater collection of heroes."
Miharu House rose from the ashes of its namesake vessel to destroy a Mishhuvurthyar flagship, restore the Second Draconian Fleet and win the Battle of Yamatai. Several of its members are Yui Blood Medallion recipients.
The premier has taken time on and off during her pregnancy, though she said she will be ready for the next International Relations Conference. Deputy Premier Tanaka Miki said the premier will continue to work a reduced schedule as she raises Asuka-hime.
Asuka-hime is the first child to be born in the royal family for many years, but it is not expected she will take the throne.
