Wes, I'd like this stickied. And it's still a work in progress so there will be more added over time.

The Eight Gate teaching tell that for everything there is an opposite. For light to exist there must be darkness. The practitioners of the Eight Gate style walk a peerless line. One between light and Shadow. They take this burden on their shoulders and they continue to train, to hone their skills, for if one posses enough strength, enough control, enough will to power, they would be able to call upon the full majesty of the Eight Gates, the Circle of Life and Death.

General Gate Overview.
The Style of the Eight gates was originally the style of Four gates, keeping to the temples old schooling system where students would learn the arts of healing and defense. However, after an incident where a student, who's name is forbidden to be said, founded the Way of the Closed fist, four more gates were formed, as a foil to the Open palm style. Thus the inception of the Eight Gates. The four Gates of life and Four Gates of death. The gates however cannot be used unless the practitioners has access to a item called a Channeling stone.

The Four Divine Gates of Life.
These Gates are require teaching in the ways of the Open Palm, they hold the dominion over the benevolence of life and the strength towards one's mind, body and soul. They require the user to be able to channel their soul through channeling stones of Sapphire, Garnet, Opal, Quartz or Diamond. To name some.

The Four Infernal Gates of Death.
These gates, created and taught by the followers of a Cult known liberally as the followers of the Closed Fist. They hold dominion over Death, and the concepts of cruelty, malice and pain. People who follow these would require channeling stones made of Jade, Jet, Beryl or Spinel. To name a few.

The Circle of Life and Death.
The one source of all power within the Eight Gate system, this is a very rare occurrence due to the wielder having followed and mastered all eight gates. A power such as this can only be contained in the body, mind, soul and spirit of a person who has killed all emotion and have dedicated their will to the art. The sole Channeling stone that can handle the power of the Circle is the bi-colored gemstone Ametrine.

Gate Keepers.
Each Gate, has the potential to be a powerful tool, so sometimes students would focus their training in one specific area. These people are known as Gate keepers and are the most skilled at single Gate manifestation. The list of Gate keepers is as follows.

The Four Divine Gates of Life: Silver Mane.
The Master and founder of the Open Palm style of combat and the originator of the Four gates magic system. Silver mane is an ages old Kee'Awloo shamen, Silver Mane was the teacher of Laughing Rain, and ultimately the one partly responsible for the creation of the Cult of the Closed Fist, facing this personal dishonor Silver mane withdrew from the Open Palm and lives as a hermit. He holds immense power and is even capable of materializing his control of the Four Divine Gates as a weapon known as the "Onigoroshi" which uses his walking staff as a material focus.

The First Gate, Life: Winter Moon
A Kee'Awloo channeler who lives at the temple of Gelsteph located in the Fenyaro Imperial capital, Ferngaul. She holds mastery level in the divination arts as well as the rare magical abilities of Soul Searching, where she can recall spirits from the other side. She is also Silver Mane's Grand daughter.

The second Gate, Mind: Nanaha
A Dy'Unnar priestess who assists the First Gate keeper at Gelsteph, she has mastered the Second Gate's powers and holds mastery over that arts of control, memory and knowledge. She is the Library mistress as well as the one who holds all the information from the library incase it needs to be rewritten.

The Third Gate. Body: Iron Hoof.
A To'Yaree Buddhist monk who lives in a hermitage in the southern Ikown Province of the Madire continent. He is the absolute master of the Third gate and is capable of shattering a forty ton boulder with a single movement. He is also considered a Legendary Healer due to the insight of the Fenyaro body gained from this Gate.

The Fourth Gate, Soul: Night Eyes.
A Kee'Awloo scholar who lives in the temple of Banderis, located in the wilds of the Eastern Sasha province of the Madire continent. He is master of the Fourth gate and is revered as the only one who can actually defeat Mephier, the Fenyaro name for death. many Fenyaro families owe Night Eyes a debt of gratitude.

The Four Infernal Gates of Death: Laughing Rain.
A Dy'Unnar ex-monk who was released from the Temple of the Open Palm when she nearly killed a fellow student. After learning that her loss was caused by a prank from an elitist student, she challenged him to a life or death battle. Ultimately, unable to control her rage, she slaughtered all five of them. This act caused her to be banned from ever practicing the Open palm art and exile to the Eastern Continent. There, her rage and anger over her loss, caused a slow, burring malice to form in her mind, and slowly, over the years it drove her mad. She used what teaching she learned from the Open palm to create an antithesis of the art. Instead of disabling, she used the exact killing intent of the blows to create the Closed Fist style. She personal revels in her new power holding the force of death at her finger tips. She fights with paired scimitars in a fighting stance called "Nyorai." To this day noone has been able to pierce her stance or even land a blow before being killed.

The Fifth Gate, Death: Shimsir
A Sha'Nai headhunter, Shimsir is known as the reaper in the trees even before learning and mastering this Gate. He is known as a ruthlessly efficient killer and assassin, his signature is to leave his paw print on the dead with their own blood as ink.

The Sixth Gate, Pain: Bloody Mane
A To'Yaree pit fighter and master swordsman. Even before knowing of this gate he was crowned as the Most ruthlessly sadistic fighter in the To'Yaree underground. After learning and mastering this gate, his reputation as a bloody murderer expanded.

The Seventh Gate, Agony: Hraesvelgr
A To'Yaree Tracker and bounty hunter who is known equally for her ruthlessness as well as her malice. She spends her days and nights hunting those who would evade the laws of the Magistrate or a clan, her payment is known simply as being allowed to watch the rogue she hunts die. She has not been seen eating, drinking or sleeping. Some say her hunger and energy is saited by her witnessing the deaths of her contracts...

The Eighth Gate, Misery: Fallen Leaves.
An exile, what's interesting about this aside from her being the keeper of an infernal gate, is that she is a Kee'Alwoo. Though she carried the burden of mastery of an infernal gate, she is not herself evil . She is in fact only a cub and was banished from society due to the power of the gate that lay within her soul. Fallen Leaves cannot willfully use the powers of the Eighth gate, it is always active. This gate's power lies within it's ability to corrupt the mind of any living thing, causing a depression within them that is so strong that the creature would simply gives up living and expires right there where they stand.

The Final Gate, The Circle of Life and Death: Gnarl Paw
The absolute master of the Eight Gate system and sole wielder of the Ninth Gate. His power is unmatched and it's reputed that he can decide who can live of die by a word. He only has one working paw. But, that does not detract from the power he weilds in his body, mind and soul.
