It was in the summer of YE 35 that engineer Takahashi Kenichi saw an opportunity to expand. He was now boss of a small band of traders, making a profit of the various junk that many space traders left behind. He was making fair money, but he wanted more. So he started travelling across Yamatai, searching for investors who were interested in his plans: making a company solely based on transport and infrastructure, independent and neutral from all factions. He searched for weeks. But many times, the answer was "No!". Until he found a person who was interested in what he had to offer. It was a fellow engineer: Kinzo Odaka, who had made wealth in the repairing and selling of old vehicles. She was willing to give Takahashi his needed starting funds. This is a sample of their first meeting:

Kyoto, Yamatai, 7/3/YE 35

" ...And I can assure you milady, I can give you much wealth" Said Kenichi. "So, mister Kenichi. What do you have to offer me?" Said Odaka. she sat behind her desk, with Takahashi facing her on the other side. She looked bored, after all the 'Selling Talk' that Kenishi had said. " I can offer you a lot, milady, but it is up to you if you accept my offer. I will be grateful if you do, however." Said he. " And if I refuse? What will you do then?" asked Kinzo. " I will be less grateful, but I will walk outside this door with my head held high. For I know what I must do. And I will not distract from my path. Although, your beauty has already distracted me, milady." Said he. Odaka giggled. " Then I know what I must do too." She said.

Ushobrakflug, 6/7/ YE 35
And so happened. Kenichi and Odaka joined forces. They formed what is now known as the Intergalactic Transport Corporation, but at that time simply Kenichi-Odaka Enterprises. After two successful seasons, they relocated to Ushobrakflug, where they built their own Headquarters. a few months ago, they hired the scientist
Skeggason Bjarkmar and began working on Project Dokuritsu-sei.

" So here it is: all the history of the ITC. Might I ask you as why you want to study the company chronicles now?" Said the Archive Keeper. " I am interested in why the ITC came to this desolate place. I mean, Ushobrakflug isn't really a hotspot of business or a shining example of galactic peace. The place was mostly a war zone not so long ago. Why come here, the had decent business on Yamatai. Why come to this forsaken place?" Said Gaukr Dugfus. He looked around and gazed at the enormous chambers filled with data files. How did they build this place? He thought. "Then I will leave you to your work. For your information, the early history when the company was known as Kenichi-Odaka Enterprises are on your left. For information on Ushobrakflug, walk straight from here and take the first right." Said the archivist. She left the room. Dugfus was all alone. He did as the archivist said, and walked towards the Ushobrakflug section. There he found several data files, labelled "Planet examination and relocation data". Gaukr took it of the shelf and putted it into a data reader. This is what the files say:

Kenichi and Odaka have recently finished observation on the planet Ushobrakflug. Current plans to relocate HQ to this location are on their way. Process on improving upon known technology have however been prioritised. Current research is focused on completing the Sugureta Engine and the Tsukiakari Space Station technology. Current proposals are on their way to NovaCorp, on behalf of a new project. Planet details are listed below, and come from Odaka her field research report.

Ushobrakflug: planet examination and details
Planet Type: terrestrial
Stellar Radius: 0,86415 AU
Circumference: 90,415 km
Surface Gravity: 0,97 G
Day length: 37 hours, 57 minutes and 38 seconds
Year length: 430,20 days
Surface composition: 68% water, 32% soil(of which 60% clay, 25% silicon, 10% Iron, 3% Silver and traces of various other metals)
Temperature: between -4 degrees and 33 degrees Celsius
Moons: many, 2 mayor
Owner: Yamatai Star Empire
Interesting details:
we found several empty bunkers(maybe left over by the NMX after Yamatai reconquered the planet?) on the western continent. Future observation as on these structures is planned for next month.

Further planet observation has just been completed. In particular, the structures mentioned in file 1783a1 have been searched. Kenichi reported on the subject. Mission details are below:

Ushobrakflug: mission to the bunkers
We have searched the bunkers on the western continent. Whether the Legion V do not know of it's existence or simply thought the structures unimportant is irrelevant. Important though is that we've found several inactive machinery and data banks inside the bunkers. The data banks seem to be empty and no data files have yet been found. If the NMX removed their data or the system malfunctioned is not known. Plans to refurnish the machinery and reactivate the data bank systems are on their way. Several teams have already been starting to remove the scrap metal and unrepairable parts inside the bunkers.
Further missions to observe have been suspended, as surface research has been completed. Current focus is to slowly relocate known personnel once the bunkers are repaired, and to maintain current course.
end of report.

Research and Development on the Sugureta is now complete, and the last things of post-production are being processed. For details on development process of the Sugureta Engine, please consult file 2591a1 to 2591b4.

Current shipment to Ushobrakflug is in full swing. Relocation of crew and personnel members is going smoothly. Building of Takahashi Tower is nearing completion, and refurnishing of bunker A3 to A8 is completed. Plans for an orbital station have been laid down, but no details are known yet. Nearly 12,000 of the 18,000 personnel members have been relocated to new HQ on Ushobrakflug. Submissions to continue operations on Yamatai have been suspended and all personnel still in old HQ will be relocated to Ushobrakflug.

Development of Tsukiakari space station is nearing completion, and post-production is planned to begin soon. Sugureta Engine production has begun, but mass-production has henceforth been suspended. Future production on Yamatai will be discontinued completely in two months from now, after which all personnel will be relocated to Ushobrakflug. Old HQ will be abandoned, and most likely be torn down.

ITC HQ, Ushobrakflug, 6/3/YE 36
Building on the HQ is mostly finished, and production has already been started. Current focus is on providing Sugureta to local traders. NO big companies have been buying though. Ten days ago, construction on what will be known as Danketsu Station has begun.

Two days ago, the old ITC HQ on Yamatai has been abandoned and torn down. Henceforth, production will only continue on Ushobrakflug. ICD has got an own factory, as does the IMD. R&D will now begin in the newly build Forsking Station, but it has been announced that Danketsu Station will act as R&D HQ once it is completed and that only a small group will remain in Forsking Station.

"Fascinating. So the ITC build their new HQ on top of some old NMX bunkers? That seems hard to believe. Is there anything more on this?" asked Daukr. The archivist nodded. " Follow me." She said.

Gaukr had been looking for details for two days now. But he had found nothing. All datafiles he looked seemed locked, and if he tried to open them, the computer responded with "Secret files, only accesible by authorised personnel."

what are you hiding? he thought. What could be so terrible to lock the files?

" So this is how you're going to play it then. I will not commit myself to such manners, nor will my company. We had a reason to lock the files, and we're not going to unlock them." Said Takahashi Kenichi. After a search for eight hours, Gaukr decided to contact the Director himself to ask about why the data-files were secret. He was asked down to Ushobrakflug to meet Kenichi, but to this point all he had said was that the data-files were off-limits. " If you wish to dig up the past, I suggest you do it to someone else. We are trying to run a company, not maintaining a history class. Your research ends here, or I must request you to leave Ushobrakflug and our company." Gaukr looked up and looked in the eyes of Kenichi.

He's hiding something, but what? Gaukr thought.

Gaukr: " Why? What are you hiding that I am not allowed to know?"
Kenichi: " That is not your concern. For now, I've nothing more to say. Our talking is over."
Gaukr: " No, it is not! I will not leave until I've got the truth. What are you so afraid of?"
Kenichi: " I've said enough! I demand you to leave!"
Gaukr: " You may drag me out all you will, but I ain't leaving."
Kenichi: " Guards! Escort this man outside."
Gaukr: " No! You can't do this! I've the right to know the truth!"

But is was already too late. Two guards took Gaukr by the shoulders. He tried to resist, but he was dragged of, and downstairs from Takahashi Tower. Finally, he was kicked of outside. " Do not come back!" One of the guards said. Gaukr laid face down in the mud. No one seemed to notice him.

Meanwhile in Takahashi's office
" Did he come?" Asked Odaka. " Indeed he did. He looked like how Bjarkmar had described him." said Takahashi. " We don't have a moment to loose. We must try to locate these files before Gaukr finds them. Did you contact Bjarkmar?" " I did, but he doesn't seem to respond. I'll try again now. I can put him trough." Said Odaka. Takahashi waited for a few seconds, until Bjarkmar appeared on screen.
Bjarkmar: " You wished to see me, boss? I'm sorry, but we're quite busy at the moment. It seems one of the Nakama Rocks has hit our development facilities construct."
Odaka: " Oh dear. Is anybody hurt?"
Bjarkmar: " Luckily, it was on a part that hasn't been worked on yet. We've limited the damage to the hit sector. There were no workers in that zone. Repair is on it's way. We'll have it fixed in no time. One more thing though: someone hacked our archive network at the exact same time as the asteroid impact."
Takahashi looked to Odaka.
Bjarkmar: " Any connection maybe?"
Takahashi: " It couldn't have been Gaukr. He was here just a moment before."
Bjarkmar: " Someone else who works with him perhaps."
Odaka: " We have to stop him. See what data-files have been stolen. Let's not hope what I think has been stolen actually is."

Elsbeth Dalhaug looked up from her desk.

Did I hear something? She thought. I hope Heming is on his way.

She had looked through the station network a hundred times. But she had finally found a way in. Into the ITC Archives. Plans for this started two months ago, only five days after the archive was completed. They would use a distraction to get into the network just at the right time. But it would have to get precisely at the right time. If something went wrong, the entire operation was blown.

Meantime on Nakama Rocks, Ushobrakflug

" Grappling hooks assembled. Begin phase 2." Said Saaron. He looked down onto the asteroid they were descending to. " Affirmed. Phase 2 initiated." Answered Heming. He was onto the asteroid itself, and looked up and saw the grappling hook. He attached one onto a mounting ring. He had dug about ten of those. " One grappling hook attached. Other nine are being attached too." He saw that the ship was beginning to raise up and drag the asteroid with it. " Phase 2 complete. Let's ram the station! Phase 3 initiated." Said Saaron. The asteroid was about to get on trajectory with Danketsu Station. Then it would be on ramming course. " Good Luck." Heming said. Elsbeth better be on schedule. It can't fail now. He thought.

Meanwhile on Danketsu Station, Ushobrakflug
" Sir, we are noticing strange activities on NK-937. Should we investigate?" Asked the deck officer. He looked of his holographic map, to Bjarkmar. He was sitting in his command chair.

Bjarkmar:" What strange activity? Is it bad?"
Deck officer: " The asteroid seems to be dragged out of its orbit. Someone is pulling it up."
Bjarkmar: " What do you mean by 'someone is pulling it up'? Be more precise."
Deck officer: " We don't know, sir. I think it's a ship, but they have failed to respond to our hails."
Bjarkmar: " Well, hail them again then."

The officer nodded. He tried to reach the ship again, but no response. " Again." Said Bjarkmar. But no response.

Deck officer: " They are refusing our call."
Bjarkmar: " I can see that. The question is why. Any info on the vessel?"
Deck officer: " It seems impenetrable for our scanners. No info, beside that it's obviously hiding something."
Bjarkmar: " Or someone. Analyst, do you know the vessel class?"
Analyst: " It looks like a Jinkan-class Escort, but it's heavily modified. Should we beam it?"
Deck Officer: " No need for that. Maybe they're just some mining workers, trying to find a descent place to work. We'll continue on. Forget the ship."

The deck officer walked back to his holographic map again, and the analyst returned to his desk. " Or it's a trap." Mumbled Bjarkmar.

NK-937
" Ready to begin phase 4. Commence push the asteroid to the station. Heming, you better brace for impact, 'cause it's coming in fast." " Copy that. I hope this suit is going to hold." The asteroid was moving towards the station. Finally, the plan would be fulfilled. If anything goes wrong now, we're screwed. Heming thought.

ITC archives
Elsbeth heard something again. " Whoever you are, I now you're here!" She said. Then she got a message. "Commence phase 4" it said. she knew what she needed to do. She rose from her desk, closed her hacker laptop, and walked back to the entrance. There, it happened. A man struck her with a staff. Elsbeth was quick to react, and parried the blow with her katar. A short battle followed, and after a few strikes. Elsbeth was able to struck the man own by cutting his arm. She ran to the door, from which a man with a baton came. She slammed the door in his face, and dragged him in. Then she shut the door, and started to look for data-files. " Where are you?" She said softly. She looked around the archives, when she finally found the files with top-secret written on it. She turned back to her desk, and putted in the data-files. "Secret files. Only allowed for authorised personnel." the files said. " Not for many longer." Mumbled Elsbeth. And then it happened.

" Brace for impact, Heming. We're gonna let you go in five seconds. The station is getting close enough." Said Saaron. Then he uncoupled the grappling hooks. The asteroid was flying on its own now. It was on it's way to the station. " Copy that Saaron. Impact imminent in fifty seconds. Has Elsbeth contacted yet?" said Heming. " No. But she got the message. We got to trust she can do it. Impact in forty seconds." Answered Saaron. The station was getting closer. The plan would be perfect. Heming would get on board by the uncompleted modules. Then he would meet Elsbeth with the files and fly out of there.

Heming: " Any word from Gaukr?"
Saaron: " Nothing. He seems to be inside the ITC Headquarters now. Impact in twenty seconds."
Heming: " Has he been informed? 'Cause he needs to know we're gonna steal the files."
Saaron: " He knows. He is trying to get the Director attention, so he isn't going to contact the station right away."
Heming: " Get Elsbeth on the channel. We've got to know if she's on schedule."
Saaron: " We've tried to contact her. But no response."
Heming: " Than we've got to trust her. If she isn't there when we need her, this operation is blown. You know what we're playing for."
Saaron: " Understood. Impact in five seconds."
Heming: " Here we go."

And than it happened. The asteroid struck the construction site. Heming had to act fast. He started the suit thrusters, and began to move forward. Soon, he saw the extraction point. But no Elsbeth.

Heming: " Elsbeth, are you there? Come in Elsbeth."
No response. He waited for two minutes.
Heming: " Damn it Elsbeth! You're supposed to be here."
Nothing. But then:
Elsbeth: " I'm here. Sorry, I was delayed. I've got the data."
Heming: " Where are you now?"
Elsbeth: " I'm in a spacesuit. I'm coming your way."
Heming: " You better hurry, I've got company."

There they were. Two guards, armoured and gunned. They kept Heming in sight. Swiftly, he took out his gun and shot the guards. They dodged the shots and began firing back. One shot hit Heming left leg. Luckily the guns were on stun. His leg was unable to move. He shot one of the guards, and soon she saw Elsbeth beating the other one.

Elsbeth: " Let's get out of here. The station's about to break."
Heming: " Come on then. You have the files?"
Elsbeth: " Yes. Now return to the ship."

And so happened. Heming grabbed Elsbeth and tethered her to him. Then he steered both of them back to the ship.
Heming: " Saaron, is the docking hatch ready to receive?"
Saaron: " Positive. We have visual on you. Hatch opened...now."

With a blast the dock hatch blew open. Soon Heming and Elsbeth got into the docking bay.
Saaron: " Pressurisation is active. Entry in sixty seconds."
Soon, they entered the ship, telling: " We've got the data!" With which cheer sounded. The plan had succeeded, the ITC would be in shambles if any of the data files leaked out.
Heming: " Has someone told Gaukr yet?"
Saaron: " He's been kicked out, but that won't matter anymore."
Heming: " Good. Now let's celebrate!"
