Is it possible for characters to have a 'feathered' hair style?

Sure, especially if they're Yamataian or Neko.

The feathers could be braided or sewn into the hair, not necessarily GROWN out of a woman's head but it could look like it. Women tend to do crazzzy things for beauty- hair extensions are sewn into the hair so that it look natural and can be styled. I think that something like that makes more sense and is more logical for fashion sense... lone feathers tend to get destroyed without more around them if they are coming out of something.

Well, thank you for answering my question! I'd assume that a Yamataian/Neko would rather have it 'grown' into their body rather then just sew it on, but I like the latter idea better. ^^;;
