[ISC Enkidu] Let the Looting Begin!

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"I heard Vickensmall up on the bridge sayin' tha' the Yerna or wha'ever's supposed ta be able ta be programmed ta do anythin' we can think up fer it ta do," Louis said to the captain, after tapping her shoulder with a loose fist. "An' I figure th' sooner we get th' Freespacer off cookin' duty, th' better. So I suggest we make th' tall one do th' cookin, coz I'd rather nae die young 'coz of radiation poisoning, ye ken?"

The scavenger scratched the scruff on his chin as he analyzed the next person. Short, begoggled, strange in mannerisms and unable to fluently speak Trade. He couldn't tell what she might be able to do, and the lack of distinguishing tools or equipment wasn't helping him either. "We could just space th' other one." Louis said plainitively.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

The poor Android kept silent for the most part as the rest of the Enkidu crew present seemed to speak of salvaging the wreck for parts or what to do with Helen and herself. Keeping a stoic expression, Anya motioned for Helen to come to her side and clasped the other woman's hand before following Myr and her crew. The verbal comment about spacing the strange 'hybrid' girl made the Android's eyes lock onto Louis.

"I think that would be quite difficult," she replied. "While Helen may look human, she may have some sort of alien genes in her. I can only offer this hypothesis because she has displayed some curious strength for her size," Anya explained, though she didn't mention the fact that she hadn't witnessed Helen dragging her from the Cargo Hold. "That and her strange language. Either way, I believe spacing her wouldn't be prudent," Anya stated more firmly than before.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"Scans are not detecting any alternate life signs within the other woman," Dante piped, hearing about spacing one of the people, "So that means she doesn't have any parasites. At any rate, I'd say, for the sake of good business and morality, we keep the tall humanoid woman. If she's an alien, that means we could likely be..."

The short man stopped for a moment, thinking first of where this train of thought was going.

"That'd we'd be the first of our people t'do business with her race..." Dante said aloud, as if he came to some sort of startling realization. "...Which is unusual, most of the unknown races t'tha' public have already been visited by Yamatai. You sure she's some alien, n'not some rare female ID-SOL? I've only seen one in my lifeti--..."

The pilot realized suddenly, that he was rambling.

"Ah, whatever, I'm just recommendin' we bring both back."

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"Hey hey! I know that you non-'Spacers don't like all the radiation, even if it does add an extra kick," Specs joked. "You should always try something before you say you don't like it."

Idly, she wondered, since Anya was a robot/gynoid/whatever you call it, what the descriptor-of-Anya looked like on the inside.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Eika looked at the very tall, very thin, and very, er, historic looking being in front of her. She had never seen an Elysian before, but she knew who they were and how their biology worked. In theory, at least. The being, despite her modern clothing, had every bit the ethereal appearance Eika imagined an Elysian should have.

"Hello," the Neko said. Her body was stiff, her head turned toward Chrys while her body faced the cabinet that had been her home for two weeks. "I'm the medic. Do you need treatment?" Eika figured keeping things business-like was best. For now.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

With her not dead she assumed the deal was concluded and so Jen stayed silent afterwards while following the captain. Anya clasped Helen's hand made her wonder if her friend was scared, or was scared for Helen's sake. Nonetheless she was not dead or staying on the ship full of dead bodies so hopefully things will work out.

Of course now she doesn't quite know how to use the scanners on a ship, no less of a feat if she managed to find the escape pod with the treasure in it.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Chrys raised her eyebrow. "Eh. Nope." She said as reply. "I am healhy as one can be. I just wanted to come by and say hello. Haven'T seen you here on the ship yet. Captain hired ya too?" Chrys asked. Her voice was absolute pure, there was just no catch in her question.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Cipher said:
"We could just space th' other one." Louis said plainitively.

"We don't need to space anybody," Shiori said a little sternly, glancing back to the two hostage/rescuee/whatever-they-were-nows. "Besides, the kid would probably eat half as much in a week as the rest of us do in a day. We can at least set her down on a planet somewhere."

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Shiori would probably feel a bit of heat on her around this time as Anya's glowing green eyes seemed to look on to the Geshrin woman. Of course, there was no threatening expression upon the Android's face, but Dante had mentioned could the Yorna's combat capabilities earlier.

"You wouldn't have to space her at all," the petite Android replied stoically. "All of you don't seem to think in terms of just dropping people off on the nearest habitable planet it seems. What if you were abandoned on a hulk and the one person who could rescue you wanted to space you?" she asked. "Besides, your Captain wouldn't be getting the money she was looking for if you spaced Helen."

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Eika stuffed her gaze in the closet. It was safer to lie to it than directly to Chrys' face.

"Yes. Sorry, I'm not anti-social ... just weird hours, see?" The Neko tried to rearrange how the broom was angled inside the dented metal box of a cabinet. "If you're healthy, then at least I don't have to work. I know enough about Elysian physiology to apply first-aid, but I need to bone up on the rest." She laughed a little at the cabinet. A bad joke, but it could break the ice.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Myr nodded absently as Louis suggested letting the cute robot cook. She was already coming up with various outfits to put her in - but when he suggested spacing the girl with terrible Trade, she turned and delivered a punch to his stomach, quickly followed by her gun coming down hard on the top of his helmet.

"They ain't done shit to us," she said gruffly. "'least not yet. An' until then, we ain't layin' a finger on them girls. Got it?"

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Chrys was somewhat confused. Neko in front of her acted somewhat strange. "Are you okay?" Chrys asked. "You look somewhat nervous. I think you don't have to be. I don't who all of the crew you met but most are okay guys." Chrys smiled at Neko to get mood up.

Maybe this was not such a good idea. Chrys was not really ice-breaker. But hey there is no hurt in trying. Most times.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Shiori just barely managed to suppress a delighted cackle upon seeing Louis get a gut punch in exchange for his suggestion. "You're alright, Skipper," she decided out loud. It wasn't quite the reaction the treatment would get if she ever found herself on the receiving end of such treatment, but foresight and empathy weren't her strong points.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"Ohhhh, don't mind me. I'm, um, saving up my bedside manner for later. Gotta keep those bleeders happy, right? Hahahaha!"

Eika knew she was starting to sound like she had taken one too many handfuls of the good painkillers, but Chrys seemed nice and concerned about her welfare.

That made the Elysian an unintentional spy for the captain, who Eika wanted to speak to after or during a life-saving surgery on one of her (hopefully) valued crewmembers.

"Really though, don't worry about me." She came out of the cabinet, flashed the biggest smile she could, and set herself to organizing the other, smaller medicine cabinets.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

The dull thud of Myr's hand colliding with Louis' gut caught the Delsaurian assassin by surprise. He hadn't seen the attack coming, and hadn't had time to prepare a defense for it, so he was caught full in the chest. He bent slightly and felt some of the wind go out of him, then a little red flower of pain blossomed in the back of his head.

Myr had hit him in the head with her gun, and if it weren't for the back of the respirator mask protecting his head, he probably would have been hurt even worse. As it were, he stumbled forward a half-step, propelled by the unexpected second hit, and regained his composure (despite the new pain in his head and chest) and raised his hand.

"Alright, alright, we're nae airlocking th' small one," Louis said, "but can ye think a' anythin' she ken do t'make her self useful on th' ship? 'Nother engineer or bridge crewman, p'raps?" He crossed his arms, looking slightly disheartened at the prospect of not throwing anyone into deep space.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Chrys tried to mantain her posture of calmness. It was not really hard even when person before her either didn't slept for days or was high on something. At least Eika was not someone Chrys even could be afraid of. Little Neko looked like she could be snapped in half.

"Whataver you say," said Chrys in the end. "So excuse my curiousty but how woul someone like you get on Nepleslian frellancre ship? And by someone like you I mean that fat that you are Nekovalkyrja." In the end Chrys asked. She had to ask, she was curious after all. Where could captain get a Neko? You don't see much of them running around Funky City.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

Eika froze again.

"Refugee," she said once she started restacking gauze. It was the truth, after all. "Captain was kind enough to let me on." Again, mostly true. "She could've killed me, but my medical skills are valuable enough that I was kept on." She hoped that would be true.

"What about you? How did you end up here?" Eika moved around a couple bottles of cheap painkillers.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"Captain advertised that she is looking for crew so I found her and got hired. I am nothing special like. Just muscle. Well there is one thing I make delicious roasted chicken." Chrys said with pride in her voice. "Anyway Captain is okay. Little tough and has what my mom would call "potty mouth" but I don't think it is that important. Swearing doesn't make her bad captain after all does it?" CHrys lauged a little after her last sentence. Not that it was that funny but to lighten up the atmosphere even more.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

An Elysian as "muscle." Eika hmmmed in her head. Chrys was tall enough and strong enough, by the medic's calculations, but there was something to the idea that, for Eika, failed to compute.

She shrugged it off.

"I think most people in power swear from time to time," Eika said. She frowned at the little bottles of anesthesia strewn about on one shelf of a cabinet she was organizing. She set them upright, in four tight rows six bottles deep, based on expiration date (oldest up first; none had yet expired).

"I only met the captain briefly, I admit. Do you think she'll give me a lot of work?" Without adding me to the body count, she mentally added.

Re: Let the Looting Begin!

"I dunno," Myr growled. "Maybe we'll ask once we got th' cash. Now c'mon, fucker." The captain advanced through the airlock, stripping out of her helmet and vac-suit and hanging them loosely on one of the hooks. Her long fingers pressed to one of her ears, and she tilted her head, subvocalizing into the ship's PA system.

"SHORE CREW'S BACK, BITCHES."
