Approved Character Jackson FireStride: New Character

This is a great first character bio. APPROVED.

Um.. Wes... To be blunt, are you blind?

First. The character has no inventory. That alone stops this from being a "great character" since it is missing a very necessary portion of the character bio. Unless the intention is that the character appears naked, which means 18+ which means none of the plots he wants can accept him.

Second. This is a starter character who is a Marine Doctor. I thought the rule was that we don't allow specialist starter characters without GM permission? Also, the character lacks the requisite Medical Skill and Pre-RP description of his time at Medic Training and Medical School.

Third. Character is expected to be both a killer and a healer. Hence the Marine Medical profession's motto of "Lethal killers and potent healers." The Yamataian won't be mincing his words since the character is expected to fire a gun at the enemy and kill him. As is every Marine medic and doctor.

Fourth. What misconceptions exist about Nepland? Nepleslia is... pretty much a violent, gun-happy society. Postmen walk around with high caliber automatic pistols. Even the doctors who have some sort of Hippocratic oath know better than to assume their morals will prevent the enemy from harming them. Gangs fight internecine conflicts daily.

Fifth. Does the character partake in the general Nepleslian hostile, racist sentiments towards Nekos?

Sixth. Specialty:Marine Doctor is not a skill. If it were, your justification for having such an exalted rank (no doctor will ever start as a P3C) and position is extremely poor. I would require much more writing to even consider allowing the position.

Seventh. Cirrus is inactive, 21st SQ is part of another faction entirely, which means that this character falls under my purview. As GM of 4th Fleet, I CANNOT accept the character as is.

This, Wes, is why I don't want you approving new characters BEFORE I make my pronouncement on them.

This guy went and put a lot of effort into making his first Star Army character and this is the treatment you give him? Instead doing what you should have done, which is going to him and gently saying, "since he's coming to my plot, I'd like to request you change a few things so he fits better," you come in here and post this?

Let's be clear, Sigma:

- You are not Nepleslia's faction manager
- You are not a character approval mod
- Your post was rude to me

As the 4th fleet GM, you can choose whether or not you want to accept this character for your plot, but you have no authority to come in here and tell me I'm wrong for approving the bio. I've read the issues you raised and I still think it's acceptable. If you want to control Nepleslian bios more tightly, I suggest you volunteer to become a character moderator so you can handle approvals.
