Approved Character Jalen Sune for Review

Not a lot of substance there...

Could you go through it again and fix it up?

- New Dudes start at the rank Santo Hei
- History is unclear - You're not supposed to hide secrets from your GM.
- Physical description is barely there

Overall, I don't feel like there was a lot of effort put into the original submission.

First off, welcome to the SARP!

Technically, Cadet is the bottom rung for the Officer ranks, but having someone start out as a bottom-rung soldier rank is more of a site policy than an In-character restriction. I hope you don't see this as a restriction, but a challenge to prove yourself ^_^

Speaking of challenges, the waking-with-amnisia is a rather over-used plot device and, as Wes mentioned, even if your character doesn't know or remember who he is, his past should still be put in his history, even what he doesn't know. If you're just nervous about not knowing what to write, that's one reason we ask you start with a ground-level character, so you can get to know the RP universe that has been built here and ease yourself into it : ) I also suggest joining with the Fort Ready thread, which is an academy-style plot for new players.

The site wiki is full of information and history, though it may look daunting, and there are usually players available on the IRC to help you out if you have any specific questions or if you can't find something.

His pod was ejected and he landed on a planet on the fringes of Yamataian space. When he woke up he set about the task of surviving, and encountered the indigenous people. They called themselves the Sune, they had never seen anything like him before. The Sune are telepathic and this helped resolve the language barrier. While he lived with them for more than two years, he developed basic telepathy. He studied and learned their lore of using plants and other things to treat the sick and injured.
I don't mean to give you a hard time, but adding a whole new world and civilization to the SARP isn't something we take lightly, and it's not something that gets done in a character bio (there's a separate forum for new setting elements).

Wes,
So other than having to get rid of my backwater world and primitive culture, anything else you don't like?

B.

That should be it, I think.
