Approved Character Kaile Misaki

Character Name: Kaile (KI-ray) Misaki (Mih-sah-kee) (Kai)

Species: Geshrin
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Creator/Parents: Unknown

Organization: Star Army of Yamatai
Faction:
Ship: Nozomi
Occupation: Computer Systems Specialist
Rank: Santo Juni (Warrant Officer 3rd Class)

Hair color and Style: Black, with one strip in the back of a silverish tint, kept in a braid that falls down past her shoulderblades
Build and Skin Color: 5'5", Average, chalk white.
Eye Color: Smoke gray with blue highlights
Distinguishing Features: . A tattoo travels up her right arm in the form of flames and jagged spikes, over her shoulder to reach large claws down both her back and torso.

Personality: Kaile has forever been an efficient person with a temper that could melt an iceberg. Although she doesn't remember much of family or friends, she seems to keep with her an acute sense of betrayal. Her personality is off-standing, her social skills that of a barbarian, some would say. Kaile would never leave her space of comfort, if she could choose--that always being around the computers and alone. There she feels safe. She is able to dole out commands and take them, though she rarely attempts to take a leadership role in anything. Paranoid is how some describe her, for she's always looking over her back or watching the fingers of her superiors moving on the keyboards.

Likes: Classical music, art, and any sort of technology she can take apart and put back together again.
Dislikes: Ignorance, Inefficiency, and people in general.

Skills:

Communications: Kai speaks common English with a spattering of her Japanese heritage still remembered and thrown into the jumble, and although she rarely makes the effort to get into conversation, she's quick to eavesdrop. She's well-educated, though not by system but by self-motivation.

Fighting and Physical: From very young, Kai's temper always needed an outlet. She taught herself what others could not, and sat outside of certain doujos just to watch them practice and follow the lead outside on the sidewalk. Though she recalls very little, these memories are avid in her mind.

Information Technology: Kai was raised around hacking. She loved overcoming a challenge, and it was her outlet, and she was good at it. Through this practice, she easily adapted to new systems and how to decode messages and even translate them from one language to another.

Mathematics Math is a staple to understanding the complicated infrastructure of any machine or program, so of course she had to learn these first.. and at an early age. She doesn't remember what sort of schooling she had, but only remembered disliking this portion of the period. She comes across as a mathematical thinker, but she prefers the creativity and gratifaction of programs and mechanics, not the mathematical logic.

Knowledge In order to better herself, Kai studied what history she could not remember. Though she is questioned often on her proficiency in this area, seeing as she seems to suffer from selective amnesia, it is no doubt she can rattle off a simple facts list in most areas of basic know-how.

Maintenance and Repair Because of her lack of high-grade equipment, Kai had to learn to repair things in order to continue her programming hobbies. She found she enjoyed taking things apart and looking for better pieces that would make things less cumbersome as she went along.

Art and Vocations There's at least one side of Kaile few people can distinguish.. the sensitive side. She appreciates art and fine music, and even can get caught up in practicing several forms of it. Though more often than not, her criticisms on her own work lead the evidence to burning, there are traces of this side of her, should someone get close enough to know her.

History:

No memory. Well, perhaps not that extreme.

Kaile can't recall her parents or home, or if she ever even had these things at all. Though bits and pieces are meshed together in her head, the whole of the puzzle has been lost down some street she took a running turn upon in the course of her life. The planet Yamatai was as much a blur to her as its activities and peoples. When she joined the army, it was to escape--from what, she didn't know.

She could recall running down the street at mid day to stop in front of the large glass windows of the doujo. Inside were the children who paid for their training, taught by a skilled master. She used to stand, looking in and watching the excersizes intently, following with deaf ears and attentive eyes to the sensei as people passed by, staring at the young girl practicing outside the doujo like some lonely wolf pup begging for attention... some people even offered her small trinkets to ease her passage through life.

The sound of the electronics whirring their familiar coos as she sat in a dark room with only a rectangular screen to accompany her, she had spent many days just like that. Her hair had fallen into her eyes and she had shoved it away with annoyance as the lists had traversed the screen. In the midst of the last push to decode, there would be a buzzing wind-down and the computer would die. She screamed, frustrated, and walked off for another part.

The feeling of a lashing on her back... she remembered that, too... and being laughed at--that was vividly clear. Nightmares were familiar, pain was always close.

((OOC : As for organization, fleet, and rank... I chose an occupation, but I was unsure, though I read the rules twice, whether I have to be a player that has been here a long time. I wanted to be a Computer Systems Officer... if I can't be that, may I be a mechanic? I'm confused as to whether I just throw myself aboard a fleet or not... it doesn't make sense to add myself to a ship that I may know nobody on.. So shouldn't I contact a ship captain and gain permission? Please don't think me ignorant of the rules... I did read them. I just want to clarify and be sure to make the best decision.))

This is a perfectly written character biography. 10 of 10.

The character is approved, and gets a starting rank of Santo Juni (Warrant Officer 3rd Class) and can be acomputer systems specialist. You can pick any ship you choose, but I would love to have Kaile on the Nozomi.

The character was Discharged from the Star Army of Yamatai due to the player's lack of participation. Moved to Archives.
