The Mindy armor is largely fire-immune, anyway (not like there's really any flammable material on it either).*imagines Mindy on fire*
The rifle cylinder is neither armored and only lightly insulted. The material used to make the fuel doesn't freeze (but it could overheat and ignite, if you kept it too close to a sun or something). The small fuel cylinder on the bottom of the gun -- is it armored? Insulated from the cold of space?
It's designed for atmospheric use. In space, it'd be largely ineffective (maybe melt some poor girl's spacesuit but that's about it). What is its atmospheric/ground-based performance like? Are there any differences?

Wikipedia said:The flamethrower is a potent weapon with great psychological impact upon unprepared soldiers, delivering a particularly horrendous deathโbeing burnt alive. It is primarily used against battlefield fortifications, bunkers, and other protected emplacements. A flamethrower projects a stream of flammable liquid, rather than flame, which allows bouncing the stream off walls and ceilings to project the fire into blind and unseen spaces, such as inside bunkers or pillboxes. Typically, popular visual media depict the flamethrower as short-ranged, of a few effective meters (due to common use of propane gas as the fuel in flamethrowers in movies, for safety for the actors), but contemporary flamethrowers can incinerate targets at 50-80 meters (165-270 feet) distance from the gunner; moreover, an un-ignited stream of flammable liquid can be fired and afterwards ignited.
Flamethrowers have not been in the U.S. arsenal since 1978, when the Department of Defense unilaterally discontinued their use, because of public opinion concerns that found their use inhumane.

I disagree. I know if I was about to board a Mishhu ship, a flamethrower would be EXACTLY what I want for a secondary weapon.I'm not questioning the usefulness, I'm questioning its placement. The Mindy is primarily a spacy armor, and this would be far more suited to ground warfare. Mindys generally don't see much deployment in environments where the flamethrower would be effective; even as a boarding weapon, there are other weapons which would be more suited to the situation.
