It's not stepping on my toes, Fay. Don't sweat it.
I realize that, in practical terms, the submission changes very, very little about the scape of the SARP in general. I also think it's a great submission.
It's the principals of it all. It's an entirely new race, with a new planet, and it's a PC race to boot. The possibilities of players trying to get that race into the mainstream of the SARP, of trying to branch out to other races and interact with them, how the race could be seen by other empires in general — there's a huge potential impact. Yet no discussion at all about that took place.
There's also the fact that now you're a Faction Manager. You get rights and responsibilities with that position. What if you leave the site again for reasons justified or not, and players are left in the lurch? Sekiko did that, and though no players were under her, she hurt a plot by doing so.
It shows a cavalier attitude on your part, Wes, to just approve this. Yes, you could've brought it to your admins and they might have rejected the submission for any number of reasons. It would have caused the contribution's death, possibly upset a talented player, and caused general malaise. Instead we're now signed up for a race that, for reasons justified or no, could freeze up in a few months.
It's irritating, but it's the norm for this site. So I don't expect anything done about it. And now that I've said my piece, I'll actually shut up.
