* Communication: Masako is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is fluent in English and Japanese. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. Due to her species, Masako can also communicate via telepathy.
* Fighting and Physical: Masako received hand-to-hand combat training by way of loading all the necessary related knowledge into the soldier's memory, and then following up with a rigorous training program. She is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamasaki-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons she is trained in include: energy pistols, knives, and power armor.
* Information Technology: She is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Keepsake OS, found on all Star Army starships and is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.
* Mathematics: She received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry.
* Survival and Military: Masako has been given training in the arts of survival and warfare. This includes basic wilderness survival for multiple environments as well as escape and evasion tactics in case she is lost behind enemy lines. Her warfare training isn't weaponry and melee combat training, but actually training in small groups tactics along with basic strategy.
* Arts and Vocation: Having a lot of spare time on her hands, Masako has taught herself how to play the viola. Though she considers herself an amateur, she can play pretty well.
* Maintenance and Repair: Familiar with and able to fix most problems with starship components and systems, Masako, though not necessarily well-versed on how a part functions and the theory behind each, will be able to keep things operating within normal parameters.
