Sonoda saw Nyton prepare to pay, and he held his hand up to stop them. "Your clothing has been loaded into the car, as have your uniform and holsters, Claymere-dono. You need not delay yourself further."

Nyton was again unsure of how to react to the royal treatment. Either that or the transaction would simply be handled via PANTHEON. "I thank you for your service, Kyosuke-san. Be well and give your brother my regards." he said with a bow.

"With pleasure, Claymere-dono." Sonoda bowed stiffly to him, then deeply and flowingly to Kotori. "Hime-sama." Two assistants opened the door for the two to exit through.

With a final nod to Sonoda, Nyton set himself to lead the way out of the store. His software was again on full alert as he approached the entryway.

Kotori answered Sonoda's low bow with a nod of her own, letting her expression and her eyes convey her thankfulness before turning to follow after Nyton.

She made a slow walk out of the establishment, passing by Nyton silently before she reached the sedan's door where their nekovalkyrja driver - on cue - opened the door, allowing Kotori to ease herself in. The Ketsurui princess shifted further to leave Nyton room to sit without needing the driver to go around and open the door for him on the other side of the backseat.

As Kotori passed by, Nyton continued to monitor vigilantly. With the layout of Kyoto still saved in his memory he studied every angle for possible snipers. He also compared memory images of their vehicle to ensure nothing had changed since their time in the store.

When Kotori had finished sliding over Nyton moved in to take the seat next to her. "Where shall we go to next, your highness?" he asked.

The driver closed the door after Nyton and then opened the door to the driver's seat. While the driver settled in, Kotori's face turned to Nyton and she answered: "To the next leg of our trip here."

The Ketsurui princess leaned forward and instructed the driver to proceed to the Kyoto Samurai residence. The sedan was soon underway.

Epilogue

One of the door attendants watched as the sedan carrying a Ketsurui princess and her escort left the area. He opened the door to the Yamataian side of Rosenthal's and immediately locked eyes with Sonoda. He nodded sharply, then closed the door again.

Sonoda returned the nod, and went behind the front counter. His assistants filtered back onto the floor while he accessed a secure line on a screen built into the counter. The image on the other end was of a golden-eyed Nekovalkyrja with jet hair, wearing a white kimono top. The background was shadowed, but she was dimly lit.

"O-Samurai-sama," Sonoda said, bowing his head deeply.

"Sonoda-san," the Neko replied, bowing her head slightly. "They are on their way?"

"Yes, o-samurai," he said in stiff Yamataian. "I have equipped her escort to the best of my ability, o-samurai. He appears capable, and is well armed."

The Neko nodded once. "He is a gentleman?"

"Yes, o-samurai," Sonoda replied. "He is Nepleslian, but of a refined type. He showed nothing but respect."

"My daughter has taste, of course," the Neko said, her tone barren of any joking.

"Without question."

"She looked well?"

"Extremely, o-samurai. She radiated the calm beauty of a true Ketsurui."

"I see. Thank you for your assistance, Sonoda-san."

"It is an honor to serve the Empire, o-samurai."

The connection was shuttered. Sonoda could not help smirking as he looked at the blank screen. "Mothers," he murmured, then returned to the floor with his assistants.
