Jacob leaned back to allow the waitress to clear his dishes, all except for his dwindling glass of water and pint of beer. He smirked slightly at the big woman who addressed him, laying one of his arms across the back of his booth seat. "I know that the two of you keep flapping your jaws as loud as you do, y'all are gonna bring whatever trouble brought you here right back down on your heads," he remarked casually, picking his teeth with his fingernail. "Especially you," he added, motioning to Eli with a flick of the wrist that was draped across his seat.
He took another drink of his beer and reclined further into his seat. "Yeah, I was on board that ship," he continued with a relaxed sigh. "But it wasn't mine."
